Dulquer teams up with debutant Ravi Nelakuditi for a pan-India love drama

Versatile actor Dulquer Salmaan, known for his refined taste in scripts and compelling performances, has officially launched his 41st film, tentatively titled #DQ41. The project marks his collaboration with debutant director Ravi Nelakuditi and promises a refreshing take on a modern love story woven with rich emotional drama. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, #DQ41 also stands as a milestone 10th venture for the production house (#SLV10). The film was launched today with a grand muhurtham ceremony in Hyderabad, attended by several prominent film personalities. Natural Star Nani gave the first clap for the muhurtham shot, while director Buchi Babu Sana switched on the camera. The script was formally handed over to the team by Nani, Gunnam Sandeep, and Ramya Gunnam. The first shot was directed by Ravi Nelakuditi himself. The event also saw the presence of Dasara and The Paradise director Srikanth Odela. The film's regular shoot commenced immediately after the ceremony. Known for his strong presence in both Malayalam and Telugu cinema, Dulquer was drawn to the film by Ravi Nelakuditi's compelling and original narrative. The film is expected to offer high technical finesse and features an ensemble of top-tier technicians: Anay Om Goswamy will crank the camera, GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music, and Avinash Kolla is the production designer. #DQ41 will release across five languages—Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi—solidifying its Pan-India appeal. Additional details about the cast and crew will be announced soon.

Mahavatar Narsimha box office collection day 11: Ashwin Kumar's devotional drama becomes first Indian animation film to cross Rs 100 crore

Mahavatar Narsimha box office collection day 11: Ashwin Kumar's devotional drama Mahavatar Narsimha has created history by becoming the first Indian animation film to cross the Rs 100 crore (gross) at the domestic box office. The film was released in multiple languages on July 25 at theatres across India. The positive word of mouth has helped in attracting kids and family audiences to cinema halls. Production house Hombale Film took to X and wrote, 'Roaring past records with divine force 🦁❤️‍🔥 #MahavatarNarsimha crosses 105 CRORES+ GBOC India, setting the box office ablaze with unstoppable momentum. A divine phenomenon awaits you in cinemas.' According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Mahavatar Narsimha earned Rs 1.49 crore at the Indian box office on its 11th day, taking its total net collection to Rs 93.32 crore. On Monday, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 24.74% in Telugu-language. However, international animated releases such as Incredibles 2 and Frozen 2 (which earned around ₹50 crore) have performed relatively well. An excerpt of SCREEN's review of Mahavatar Narsimha read, 'There have been many iterations of this beloved story. No surprises that this latest version, from Hombale Productions' (KGF, Kantara) goes big: everything is scaled up massively, castles, mountains, skies, the rakshasas and their weapons. I saw the 2D version, and while some of it is impressive, the proportions seemed a bit off: in one scene, a gigantic nose on one side of the screen towers over the tiny figures below. The climax is world-class, even if ultra-violent, with body parts and blood flowing generously. Trigger warning for small kids. And yourself, if you are faint-hearted. But hey, demons being torn to pieces feels as if justice has been done: our gods really know how to do the Avengers thing.' If the current trend continues, the film is expected to cross the Rs 150 crore milestone. Following its massive success, Hombale Films has announced a long-term plan to expand the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe over the next 12 years, with six more films slated for release by 2037.

India tour of England: India vs England fifth Test at the Oval, in London August 4, 2025. Mohammed Siraj comments

The word impossible is not a part of Mohammed Siraj's dictionary as he always believed that he can win the final Test for India from any point as he pulled off one of the biggest heists in the traditional format in recent times. "I woke up in the morning and checked google on my phone and took out a 'Believe' emoji wallpaper and told myself that I will do it for the country." Without Jasprit Bumrah, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Telangana Police bowled 185.3 overs to take 23 wickets, and it couldn't have been more fitting that he earned India a win for posterity. "I always believe that I can win the game from any point, and did that to the morning," Siraj told Dinesh Karthik in a post match chat for Jio Hotstar. Having consistently troubled the English batters, Siraj finished with 5 for 104 in 30.1 overs and a match haul of nine wickets. "My only plan was to bowl good areas. Didn't matter if I took wickets or went for runs," Siraj said. His feet touched the boundary rope while trying to catch Harry Brook when the batter was on 19. Brook scored a smashing ton and it looked like the match slipping from India's grasp. "I didn't think I'd touch the cushion when I took it. It was a match-changing moment. Brook got into T20 moment. We were behind the game after that but Thank God. I thought the match was gone," Siraj said.
