After weeks of rain and clouds, there's light at the end of the tunnel. Today brings lots of sunshine with a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. A cold front is expected tonight, but will clear shortly past midnight. Not only today, but the rest of the week is looking bright. 'We're back above normal with lots of sunshine in the forecast,' said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. Saturday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday expected to be sunny. 'June arrives with some warmer conditions heading into next week, and the first couple weeks of June are looking good in terms of daytime highs,' said Atchison. Here's a look at the rest of the forecast Friday: Sunny in the morning and early in the afternoon then a mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon. Fog patches dissipating in the morning. High 23. UV index 1 or low. Friday night: Mainly cloudy. 60 per cent chance of showers in the evening and after midnight with risk of a thunderstorm. Environment Canada's forecast calls for a high of 22 C today, before dropping to 17 C on Saturday and Sunday. The normal temperatures for this time of year are a high of 22 C and a low of 11 C. It will be mainly cloudy tonight with a 40 per cent chance of showers. There is a risk of a thunderstorm late this afternoon. High 22 C, with the humidex making it feel like 25. Partly cloudy tonight with a 40 per cent chance of showers. There is a risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight. Low 9 C. Saturday will start mainly cloudy, before becoming a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. High 17 C. The outlook for Sunday calls for a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of showers. High 17 C. Environment Canada says above-seasonal temperatures will arrive next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with daytime highs of 26 C on Tuesday and Wednesday. 'A period of warm weather is expected to arrive,' Environment Canada said in a statement on its website. 'Temperatures will rise to a few degrees above average.' Wildfire smoke Smoke from wildfires in northern Ontario and Manitoba is expected to drift through Ottawa today. According to wildfire smoke will arrive late this afternoon and linger through the overnight. Ottawa's air quality is expected to be a '4-Moderate Risk' tonight before dropping to '3-Low Risk' on Saturday.
