Bulls Big Man Zach Collins Says Nikola Vucevic 'Could Be More Selfish'
Collins was pressed into a starter's role for eight games following injuries to Jalen Smith and the Bulls' incumbent starter, Nikola Vucevic. In a recent interview with NBA Insider Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson of Scoop B Radio, Collins talked about playing with Vooch, comparing him to Jusuf Nurkic, and how he believes his veteran teammate could be a little more selfish on the floor.

'I played with [Jusuf] Nurkić in Portland and he was also a very skilled big man but more of a brute. But Vooch is more of a footwork-footwork-footwork-touch and plays below the rim, but he's very crafty and super smart. He could be more selfish than he is but he plays the right way and he's definitely unique.'

Quite honestly, I'm not sure how many Bulls fans would want to see Vucevic play more selfishly–especially on the defensive end where he often elects to give minimal effort and only seems to care about defensive rebounding. But that's another story altogether.
Collins is on the books for just under $18 million for next season. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent to begin the 2026-27 NBA season. That makes Collins a potentially valuable expiring contract for a trade. I can see a scenario where Collins could be a valuable backup option on a strong team.

With the team now squarely in the draft lottery conversation, fans are already looking ahead. The Bulls have a slim 1.7% chance of winning the No. 1 pick, but securing any top-four selection could provide a much-needed infusion of talent. Whether it's a star in the making or a player who can anchor a larger trade package, the outcome of the lottery could directly impact Collins' future in Chicago.
We'll see which direction the team's front office heads. I know Bulls fans, there probably isn't a ton of faith in that concept.
Chicago's offseason promises to be one of the most scrutinized in recent years. While the front office has been notoriously slow to pivot from the current core, the combination of player contracts, aging stars, and a middling record may finally force real changes. Collins could be part of those plans, either as trade bait or as a cost-effective depth piece for a restructured roster.

Jonathan Kuminga declines another two-year extension offer from Warriors: Report
Jonathan Kuminga reportedly declined another offer from the Golden State Warriors as he seeks a longer extension with the franchise. On Wednesday, ESPN reported that the Dubs have attempted to secure a deal with Kuminga, who turned down the offer due to the terms. According to Shams Charania and Anthony Slater, the Warriors are offering Kuminga a two-year deal worth $45 million. However, a team option for the second year of the contract, as well as the team's refusal to maintain a built-in no-trade clause, has become the point of contention for the 22-year-old rising star. Golden State signed Kuminga to a four-year rookie contract after drafting him with the seventh pick in 2021. He has since been a consistent role player for Steve Kerr's side and contributed to their 2022 title win. Kuminga's agent, Aaron Turner, met with the team during the Summer League in Las Vegas and presented some ideas for a deal, including a three-year, $82 million deal. If it materializes, the deal would keep Golden State below the second apron and allow them to use the taxpayer midlevel exception, per ESPN. Over the past month, Kuminga and Turner have explored the market for sign-and-trade options, which led to promising conversations with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. The conversations reportedly led to proposals of four-year deals worth around $90 million, with a player option for the final season. ESPN also noted that Phoenix is in a lucrative pursuit of a sign-and-trade after losing Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal this offseason. Still, Golden State is not entertaining the offers for Kuminga and is exercising his restricted free agency to its fullest extent. Golden State reportedly wants Kuminga to be part of the roster at the start of the 2025-26 season. They are allowing him to pick between the two-year proposal and the standing $7.9 million one-year qualifying offer. Kuminga had previously told ESPN he is in no rush to reach an agreement with the Dubs. ESPN's sources reported that he prefers to start fresh with the long-term offers from Sacramento and Phoenix. The potential opportunities will present growth in his role, increased playing time, career control and more financial rewards. The power forward suggested that taking the Warriors' two-year offer means giving the team the steering wheel on his future after they "stunted and strung his career along for four seasons", per ESPN. Kuminga's role with the Warriors has been marred with questions at the end of his rookie deal after the team acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. While his minutes have gone down from last season, Kuminga stayed productive with 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in 47 appearances. The CBA suggests that Golden State's one-plus-one contract would include an inherent no-trade clause, as Kuminga's Bird rights would be maintained by his next team. In that case, if the Dubs take an offer, Kuminga would have some control over where he lands. According to ESPN, Golden State requested that Kuminga waive the no-trade clause. Kuminga has until October 1 to accept the Warriors' offer while the negotiations continue. The Dubs will look to secure Kuminga's services or a better deal for him as they return from a seventh seed finish with a 48-34 record. Their season ended in the second round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves after getting past the Houston Rockets.

NBA headed to Berlin, Paris, London and Manchester to play six games in the next three years
The NBA is heading to Europe for at least six games in the next three years, the league announced on Wednesday. That starts with the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic playing in Berlin on Jan. 15 and then in London on Jan. 18 in this coming season. That game in Berlin will be the NBA's first regular season game in Germany, and it will feature German-born brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner. "To have the Orlando Magic and the NBA play a regular-season game in our hometown of Berlin means everything to us," the brothers said in a statement. "Growing up here, we dreamed of moments like this. It's a huge honor to represent Berlin and Germany and show how much the city and country love basketball. We hope we can inspire kids the way we were inspired watching games from afar."' In 2026-27, the NBA will play games in Manchester, England, and Paris, then in the 2027-28 season it will be Berlin and Paris. The games will be played at Berlin's Uber Arena, London's The O2, Manchester's Co-op Live and Paris' Accor Arena. " Announcing the next three season's regular-season games in Europe reflects the incredible momentum and appetite for NBA basketball in France, Germany, the UK, and across the region," George Aivazoglou, the NBA's managing director for Europe and the Middle East, said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming the Grizzlies and the Magic to Berlin and London and to engaging fans, players and the local communities through the games and the surrounding events." The NBA is banking on that appetite, as these games come while the association is working toward launching an NBA-branded league in Europe, something NBA owners seem more eager to do in the next handful of years than expanding the league to cities such as Seattle or Las Vegas. The form of this European league is still being decided — it likely would be a mix of existing teams and some new, expansion ones — and would be direct competition with the existing EuroLeague. Whatever happens with the new league, the NBA will continue to play games on the continent and will try to grow its brand and presence there.

Los Angeles Lakers fans are practically salivating over the prospect of Luka Doncic coming into the new season much trimmer and fitter than he has been in a while. Multiple reports have indicated that the superstar has been taking his fitness and conditioning seriously this offseason, and a Men's Health article on Monday detailed how dedicated Doncic has been to his workouts lately. But in the end, the proof is in the pudding, and what matters is how well he plays and performs. ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith downplayed Doncic's new physique and pointed out that Doncic still has a long way to go before he can be proclaimed new and improved. 'No,' Smith said when asked if the NBA should be scared of a fitter Doncic. 'Not any more scared than they already are. The brother is phenomenal as an offensive talent, no doubt about this. 'But there's a difference between getting in shape in the offseason and staying in shape during the season, and that's something we have to monitor moving forward. The conditioning is obviously imperative, but does that mean you're going to move without the ball instead of standing around and receive it? Does it mean that you're going to up your efforts continuously on the defensive side of the ball? That's where it's going to really, really show.' Staying in shape during the long NBA season partly involves sticking to a healthy diet, something that isn't easy when one is practically living out of suitcases in hotel after hotel. There is also the matter of staying motivated and passionate through the inevitable ups and downs of a season. Doncic has already been considered by many to be one of the three to five best basketball players in the world over the last few years. If he maintains his newfound fitness, he could have at least one true MVP-level season ahead of him, but it remains to be seen how he actually does, especially on the defensive end, which has been a festering weakness for him.
