Kingdom Box Office Collection Day 2: Vijay Deverakonda's actioner nosedives after historic start, earns Rs 7.5 crore

After a thunderous opening at the box office, Vijay Deverakonda's highly anticipated film Kingdom witnessed a significant decline on its second day of release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 7.5 crore on Day 2, marking a steep drop of approximately 58.33% from its opening day. This brings the film's total two-day collection to Rs 25.5 crore. Despite the drop, the film maintained a respectable overall Telugu occupancy rate of 42.56% on Day 2. It began the day with 27.39% occupancy during morning shows, increased to 38.12% in the afternoon, rose to 43.21% in the evening, and peaked at 61.50% during the night shows. Region-wise, Warangal led with a 69.50% occupancy rate, followed by Mahbubnagar at 56.50%, and Hyderabad at 52.50%. Also Read | Son of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn's comedy struggles with Rs 6.75 crore debut amid poor reviews Kingdom had already surpassed the opening day figures of Vijay's previous film Kushi, but its second-day earnings fell slightly short of Kushi's Day 2 collection of Rs 9.9 crore. However, the strong opening helped Kingdom maintain a lead in cumulative earnings, with its two-day total of Rs 25.5 crore edging past Kushi's Rs 25.15 crore. Interestingly, while Kingdom couldn't outdo Liger's Day 1 numbers, its second-day performance of Rs 7.5 crore helped it overtake Liger's two-day total of Rs 23.4 crore. The drop on Day 2 can be attributed, in part, to it being a working day, along with the film receiving mixed reviews. Additionally, Kingdom is facing stiff competition from other releases, including Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar, and Karan Johar's Dhadak 2. All eyes are now on the weekend collections, as Kingdom is being viewed as a potential comeback for Vijay Deverakonda after lukewarm responses to his previous outings, Kushi and Liger.

Son Of Sardaar 2 Day 1 Box Office: Ajay Devgn's Film Outshines Siddhant, Triptii's Dhadak 2

Ajay Devgn's Son Of Sardaar 2 opened strong, surpassing Dhadak 2's Day 1 collection. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur. Ajay Devgn's much-awaited action-comedy Son Of Sardaar 2 has taken a solid start at the box office. The film clashed with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri at the box office on August 1. On its opening day, Ajay's film surpassed the earnings of Dhadak 2. A sequel to the 2012 hit, Son Of Sardaar 2 continues the story with Ajay Devgn reprising his high-energy, larger-than-life avatar, Jassi, that fans have come to love. The film's mass appeal, humour, and action-packed narrative have clearly struck a chord with single-screen audiences, especially in North India. On Day 1, Son of Sardaar 2 raked in an impressive Rs 6.75 crore, comfortably surpassing the day 1 earnings of Dhadak 2, which managed Rs 3.35 crore. The Ajay-starrer had an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.56% on Friday. On the other hand, Dhadak 2, which stars a fresh cast and takes a more intense, romantic-drama route, saw a slow start despite decent pre-release buzz and music popularity. With a head start at the box office, Son Of Sardaar 2 now looks to maintain momentum over the weekend. Trade analysts predict a healthy jump if word of mouth remains positive. All eyes are now on the Saturday and Sunday numbers to see which film pulls ahead in the long run. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ajay Devgn (@ajaydevgn) News18 Showsha rated the film with 3 out of 5 stars. A part of our review reads: 'With all said and done, Son of Sardar 2 is a decent watch that you can think of watching at the theatres near you with your family. Though the film tries to give a message at the end, go with a mindset to watch some pure slapstick comedy that doesn't require you to apply your mind and logic. Lastly, be ready to be surprised for a small announcement in the end, and no, it's not Son of Sardar 3." The film also stars late Mukul Dev, marking his posthumous release. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film features a powerhouse cast including Ajay Devgn, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, and Sahil Mehta. Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, A Devgn Films and SOS 2 Limited production, Son of Sardaar 2 is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. Produced by N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Son of Sardaar 2 was previously slated for release on July 25, 2025. It's release date was later pushed to August 1. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
