CSP operator shot at in Samastipur, over Rs 1 lakh looted
The CSP operator, Manish Kumar, was shot in the right thigh while he was attempting to catch hold of the fleeing robbers, police said.
Chakmahesi SHO, Santosh Kumar Yadav, said: "The robbers fired shots while fleeing, injuring the CSP operator. The stolen amount is approximately Rs 1.25 lakh," he said.
Yadav said the initial inquiry from the victim revealed that the incident occurred around 1pm when two masked men, posing as customers, entered the CSP on two separate motorcycles.
As they approached the counter, they brandished pistols and demanded money.
"After seizing the cash from the counter, the robbers attempted to escape. In a bid to stop them, Manish hurled a hammer at the robbers, but it missed the target. In retaliation, the robbers opened fire, hitting Kumar in the thigh," he said.
One of the robbers' motorcycles could not start so they escaped on a bike. Local residents, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the spot and rushed the injured CSP operator to Pusa sub-divisional hospital.

The SHO said, "Five bullet casings and the abandoned motorcycle of the robbers were recovered from the place. Efforts are underway to track the direction in which the robbers fled. Unfortunately, the CSP's CCTV system was non-functional at the time of the incident, complicating the identification of the culprits."
The police have launched a manhunt and are conducting raids in nearby areas to apprehend the suspects, he added.

Hyderabad techie loses Rs 67 lakh to crypto investment scam
Hyderabad: An IT employee from the city lost Rs 67 lakh to cyber fraudsters who ran a crypto investment scam through a fake website. The 39-year-old IT professional from Langer Houz alleged that he encountered cryptocurrency investment advertisements on Instagram. Upon clicking the link, he was added to Telegram and WhatsApp groups, where administrators advised him to invest in crypto trading through their portal in July 2024. The fraudsters utilised fake dashboards to demonstrate that the victim had made significant profits on his investments. The victim used his savings and obtained loans to transfer over Rs 67 lakh within a year through hundreds of UPI transfers to bank accounts in Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh. Firing, suicide note but no weapon found: Ahmedabad man's death puzzles police
A man was found dead at his home in Ahmedabad on Tuesday night after a firing sound was heard from his room while he was alone there. His death has left the police questioning whether it was a suicide or a murder as no weapon was found at the Tudia, a 41-year-old stockbroker from Ahmedabad's Bopal, was found dead under mysterious circumstances as, despite the recovery of a suicide note from his pocket, no weapon was found at the the time of the incident, Kalpesh's 14-year-old daughter was at home, while his wife Jinal had gone to manage her food stall. Two visitors had come to meet Kalpesh and were present downstairs. Earlier, Kalpesh had informed his daughter that two people would come to meet him and that he would speak with them in his room upstairs. However, when the visitors arrived, the meeting took place downstairs. Kalpesh spent about an hour speaking with the two men the discussion, Kalpesh went upstairs to his room, leaving the two visitors downstairs. Around 9:45 pm, a gunshot was heard from Kalpesh's room. His daughter immediately ran upstairs and found her father bleeding from a head injury. She quickly contacted her mother, Jinal, via a video call to inform her of the two visitors who had been downstairs fled the scene right after. Kalpesh's wife reached home soon after and with the help of her neighbours, rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him were informed of the incident around 10 pm.
