Trump admin revokes visas for punk duo that chanted 'death to IDF' at Glastonbury Festival
English rap-punk duo Bob Vylan's U.S. tour appears to be over before it even started. On Monday, the Trump administration announced it had revoked visas for the group's members, following a controversial performance at the Glastonbury Festival in England over the weekend. In a statement posted to X, State Department Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau said lead singer Bobby Vylan and drummer Bobbie Vylan, both of whom perform under pseudonyms, had been banned from entering the U.S. due to 'their hateful tirade at Glastonbury.' 'Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,' Landau added. The State Department's decision came after the group's appearance at the popular music festival on Saturday sparked intense backlash. During their performance, which was livestreamed on the BBC, Bobby Vylan led the crowds in chants of 'free, free Palestine' and 'death, death to the IDF,' referring to the Israel Defense Forces. Behind the duo, a screen displayed the messages 'Free Palestine" and 'United Nations have called it a genocide. The BBC calls it a 'conflict,'' referring to Israel's ongoing war in Gaza. The BBC has since said it should have cut away from the broadcast, writing in a statement issued on Monday: 'The team were dealing with a live situation but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen.' In statement on Instagram, organizers of Glastonbury — England's largest festival — said they were 'appalled' by the duo's performance: 'Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.' According to the group's website, Bob Vylan was scheduled to kick off the 'grandson North America Tour' in October, with almost 20 shows already planned in cities across the U.S. But without visas, that tour will likely be canceled. On Sunday, Bobby Vylan addressed the controversy in a lengthy post on Instagram saying, 'I said what I said.' The artist wrote that he had been 'inundated with messages of both support and hatred.' 'Teaching our children to speak up for the change they want and need is the only way that we make this world a better place,' he wrote. 'As we grow older and our fire possibly starts to dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us.' Did Matty Healy make a subtle Taylor Swift reference on stage?
The Glastonbury Festival — a music and arts show that takes place in Glastonbury, England — is officially finished after spanning from June 25-29th. Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo and the 1975 were this year's headlining acts. Lead singer of the 1975, Matty Healy, got some attention after his set on June 27 as he appeared to take a subtle shot at pop star Taylor Swift. Healy and Swift dated briefly after the 14-time Grammy winner broke up with actor Joe Alwyn in April of 2023. The relationship was short-lived, but Swifties believe a handful of the songs from her April 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, may refer to Healy (even if Swift never confirms her muses). The alleged reference to Swift at Glastonbury came as Healy had what he called a sincere moment on stage. "I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation — the best, what do we say? A poet?" Healy mused to the crowd. While there's not a direct reference to Swift, people wondered if it was a disguised trolling shot at the The Tortured Poets Department singer. It's probably nothing, but it's certainly an interesting word choice.

Marilyn Manson's U.K. Tour Opener Canceled Amid Backlash
The opening date of Marilyn Manson U.K. tour—originally set for Oct. 29 at the Brighton Centre—has officially been canceled following public backlash, political pressure and an open letter from a member of Parliament urging city officials to pull the show. On Saturday, fans who went online to contact Ticketmaster received a message saying 'this event has been cancelled.' The show was also removed from Manson's official website, confirming that the U.K. leg of the One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1 Tour will now begin on Oct. 31 in Bournemouth. More from Billboard Fans Choose KATSEYE's 'Beautiful Chaos' as This Week's Favorite New Music Olivia Rodrigo Brings Out The Cure's Robert Smith at Glastonbury 2025 Dua Lipa Covers 'Nothing Compares 2 U' in Honor of Sinead O'Connor in Dublin The cancellation follows a formal letter from Green MP Siân Berry, addressed to Brighton & Hove City Council leader Councillor Bella Sankey, calling for the show to be canceled at the publicly owned venue. The letter was co-signed by victim support organizations and the University of Sussex Student Union. In the letter, Berry cited 'multiple allegations of sexual assault, grooming and domestic violence' made against Manson in recent years. 'Many survivors in Brighton and Hove, and organizations supporting them, will have very serious concerns about this booking and its impact on other people visiting the city centre, local residents and the wider community,' Berry wrote. 'Freedom of expression is an important principle that should be defended, including in relation to artists, but there is an obvious risk to community cohesion.' An activist group called No Stage for Abusers also urged Brighton Centre and the city council to cancel the show through an online campaign. Manson—whose legal name is Brian Warner—was named in 2021 by actress Evan Rachel Wood as her alleged abuser, leading to more women coming forward with similar claims. Multiple civil lawsuits have since been filed against the singer, accusing him of sexual assault, harassment, and grooming. Manson has denied all allegations. In January, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced that it would not file criminal charges, citing the expiration of the statute of limitations and insufficient evidence. The alleged incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 in West Hollywood. Berry acknowledged the absence of criminal charges but referenced council policies that support listening to survivors and protecting community safety. 'The level and nature of the accusations against Warner are concerning enough alone, but so too is the message sent out by providing a platform for this individual, at our city's biggest publicly owned venue, and what this will mean to survivors,' she said. 'We believe a solution must be found and that, despite these difficulties, the Council should act in line with its obligations to our values and the serious concerns around public safety and community cohesion.' Manson and his representatives have not yet commented publicly on the cancellation. Stories about sexual assault allegations can be traumatizing for survivors of sexual assault. If you or anyone you know needs support, you can reach out to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). The organization provides free, confidential support to sexual assault victims. Call RAINN's National Sexual Assault Hotline ( or visit the anti-sexual violence organization's website for more information.
