
DMW shares hotlines amid Israel-Iran tensions
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which is on heightened alert, has activated its 24/7 Middle East Help Desk for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran.
OFWs and OFW families needing help or information could reach DMW-OWWA through the following numbers:

"The Department urges all OFWs in Israel and Iran to remain indoors and stay alert, and stay connected with the Philippine Embassy or MWOs in their respective host countries," it said.

Cacdac stressing that it is a matter of 'carefully assessing the situation,' including air space, to arrive at a proper timing. 'Nakahanda tayo. Pero di pa isinasagawa at this stage. Cacdac urged families in the Philippines to check on their relatives in Israel through the DMW's hotlines. 'Ang mahalaga sa ngayon ay malaman ng mga kababayan natin na meron silang madudulugan,' he said. According to a report on 24 Oras Weekend, one Filipino also reported that a strike had hit their home, but that they were safe as they had taken refuge in a bomb shelter. The Philippine embassy there is on high alert amid the unrest in the region. On Friday, Israel struck Iran, saying its goal is to stop Iran from developing atomic weapons and taking out its ballistic missile capabilities. Iran struck back, launching its own airstrikes on Israel. In a letter to the United Nations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi described the attack as a "declaration of war" and "called on the Security Council to immediately address this issue," the ministry said. Araqchi said Israel's attacks were aimed at sabotaging nuclear talks with the US that were to resume in Oman on Sunday, and which have now been cancelled.
