Here's why Asda closed several stores across Glasgow
Asda said the shops were closed to allow 'planned overnight maintenance'. The stores that shut for maintenance were: Govan, Toryglen, Robroyston, and Maryhill.
In a statement to the Glasgow Times, the retailer confirmed its stores have since reopened.
After realising Asda had shut some of its Glasgow stores, confused Glaswegians took to Facebook to question why.

One said: "Just heard that Asda was shut early tonight. Hope everything was ok", to which one person replied: "Yeah, was (closed) at 9pm. I went to go in, don't know why though."
Meanwhile, another said: "Asda Toryglen shut", with a person replying: "Every Asda in every area is the same."
An Asda spokesperson said: "A few of our Glasgow stores closed at 9pm last night for planned overnight maintenance and reopened this morning.
"They're now open as normal, ready to welcome our customers, and we'd like to thank them for their understanding while the stores were closed temporarily overnight."

It means the cost of filling up a family car with petrol is now £74.26, and £78.57 with diesel. However, filling up at the supermarket can be far cheaper than other petrol stations, the RAC said. Supermarket forecourts are charging 131.5p on average for litre of and 139p for diesel – both almost 4p less than the UK averages. 'Our analysis of the difference between wholesale and retail prices shows retailer margins remain high, particularly on petrol. "This is emphasised by the fact the average price of unleaded in Northern Ireland is 7p cheaper than the average across the UK. 'Drivers may also see significant differences on forecourt totems from area to area which can be very frustrating." M&S warning issued amid expiry dates for paper vouchers
