Hill remains upbeat for Daisy once new-look squad settles
The first away league fixture of the season comes on the back of two home games that have produced just one point, with an opening day defeat by a single goal against Ashton Athletic being followed by a 2-2 draw against Garstang last Saturday.
But Daisy manager Lee Hill insists there is no need for concern, with the new squad members still settling in after a disrupted pre-season build up, due to injury and unavailability.
'We know we're behind due to a stop-start pre-season, and we're feeling the effects of that a little bit, but we are where we are,' said Hill.
'But we know the qualities in the squad, and while we've got to sharpen the tools in and around the box, we just need to get game time together, as this is almost an extended pre-season for us as it is.
'We've had things go against us, too. Watching the video back of the Garstang game, we had a goal disallowed that should have stood, and their equaliser was offside and shouldn't have stood.
'That's the difference between winning and drawing the game, and if we'd taken four points from six, you're asking different questions, so it's frustrating. They are the things you can't control.
'But, after taking one point from six, you know you have to start looking at other options, so we will be looking at bringing some new faces in on Saturday.'
Ashton Town go into the game with an identical record to Daisy, a draw and a defeat in their opening two games, the loss coming in an explosive encounter at Steeton on Monday evening, and Hill believes the circumstances surrounding that game, which saw several red cards shown, will have little impact on the game this weekend.
Hill added: 'Although Ashton lost on Monday night at Steeton, with four red cards in that game, two for each side, it's a result to take with a pinch of salt, and it probably doesn't have any effect on their team really for Saturday.
'I think Ashton are in a similar position to us.
'They've retained a good number of players from last season and added a couple to the squad as well. So they're probably still gelling, still finding their feet.
'But we're still waiting for that performance that we know we can produce, and with each game we've looked better each time.
'Games between us and them in recent years have generally been close and well-contested games, and I expect nothing but the same again on Saturday.'

Chelsea players have decided to donate a portion of their Club World Cup bonuses to the family of Diogo Jota and André Silva, according to The Athletic. Jota and Silva were killed in a July car crash in Spain. Ahead of Friday's Premier League opener against Bournemouth, Liverpool have announced they will dedicate the cover of its match day program to Jota, who played 123 times for the club, and Silva. All players across the league will wear black arms bands this weekend and will take part in a moment of silence. Jota will also be immortalized with a statue at Anfield, Liverpool's home ground, and players will wear a "Forever 20" emblem on their jerseys this season in reference to his number. The No. 20 has also been permanently retired by the club, the first time that honor has been bestowed on a former player in club history. Jota's death led to a poignant moment of silence at the Club World Cup match between Fluminense and Al-Hilal last week, as Al-Hilal defenders Rúben Neves and João Cancelo — two of Jota's Portugal teammates — became emotional. The next day, Neves and Cancelo flew back to Portugal for Jota's funeral, in which Neves served as a pallbearer.

At tight end in 2025, there's a clear dividing line. George Kittle, Brock Bowers and Trey McBride aren't just the top three on my board — they're in their own tier, a category reserved for players who project as the unquestioned No. 1 target earners of their offenses. People will debate which one should be ranked first, but the reality is they're all true TE1s. If you land any of them, you're drafting the focal point of an NFL passing game. Bowers commanded a position-leading 153 targets, finishing first in receptions (112), yards (1,194) and yards after the catch (596), while matching McBride's fantasy output at 15.5 points per game. His ability to create downfield separation (2.09 yards) and post a 27.8% dominator rating as a rookie is absurd. With Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey commanding coverage, Conklin should see favorable 1-on-1s — a solid waiver-wire TE who won't give you a zero. Zach Ertz, Commanders – A 34-year-old veteran with little dynasty appeal but sneaky 2025 value. With Terry McLaurin's status in Washington up in the air, Ertz steps in as Jayden Daniels' likely security blanket. His ability to find soft spots in coverage makes him a high-floor streaming option who could easily outproduce ADP. 1 Fade at Cost Sam LaPorta, Lions – I love the talent, but he's coming off the board as TE4 in most drafts — three spots ahead of my ranking. We don't know what Detroit's offense will look like under new leadership, and paying elite capital for a player in a changing system is a bet I'm not willing to make right now. Final Word If you're going to spend up, spend for the ceiling. The safest path is securing one of the top three and walking away from the position until bye week. If you miss, attack the late rounds with upside swings — because the gap between TE12 and TE24 isn't as wide as most think.
