Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne bids farewell with Black Sabbath reunion
The legendary rocker told thousands of heavy metal enthusiasts at Villa Park, Birmingham – a stone's throw from where Black Sabbath was formed in 1968 – that it was 'so good to be on this stage' as he performed his last set from a large black throne.
Osbourne and his fellow original Black Sabbath members – Tony Iommi, Terence 'Geezer' Butler and Bill Ward – were the last to appear on stage as part of a star-studded line-up for the Back to the Beginning concert.

Among the bands performing were Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N'Roses, and there were messages of thanks from other celebrities, including Jack Black, Ricky Gervais and Dolly Parton.
Osbourne – who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 – plans to continue to record music, but said that the concert marked the end for him performing live.
The 76-year-old, nicknamed the Prince of Darkness, entered the stage for the final time by rising on his throne through a trap door.
He started the performance by saying: 'Let me hear you. Are you ready? Let the madness begin!'
Later, he added: 'It's so good to be on this f****** stage. You have no idea. I f****** love you all. Let me see your hands in the air. You are the best, each and every one of you. God bless you all.'
In an emotional moment, Ozzy said: 'I don't know what to say, man, I've been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart.
'You're all f****** special. Let's go crazy, come on.'
The rocker – who wore his signature black attire and thick eye makeup – sang five songs in his own set, with fans waving torches from their phones during Mama, I'm Coming Home.
He finished his performance with Crazy Train, before confetti rained over a packed Villa Park.
After a short break, he re-entered the stage to join the rest of Black Sabbath – for the first time in 20 years – in a special reunion.
The band performed some of their greatest hits to the adoration of the crowd, ending with a rendition of Paranoid for the ultimate send-off.
Fans chanted 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy' as the rock legend thanked and blew kisses to those in attendance, before departing in an emotional ending to cap off an illustrious career on stage.
Video messages from celebrities made clear the impact both Osbourne and Black Sabbath have had on the music industry.

In one of the messages before his performance, Elton John told Osbourne: 'You are one of the most remarkable singers of our time.
'You are the king, you are the legend.
'You've been through so much crap in the last few years – I hope this is the best day of your life so far.'
In his message, taken in the bath, Gervais quipped: 'My everlasting memory of you will be from when we were on the Graham Norton Show together, and they had to stop the recording because we both needed a piss, so maybe have one before you go on stage tonight. Have a great one.'
Dozens of fans also sent in personal videos that were broadcast at the event, crediting Osbourne and Black Sabbath for inventing heavy metal and thanking them for their generational influence on music.

Destination X players thrown into chaos by next location – would you have got it from show clues?
The winning team threw in some red herrings to throw off their fellow contestants - but did they succeed? guess what Destination X players thrown into chaos by next location – would you have got it from show clues? DESTINATION X players were left confused tonight after a series of clues and red herrings, but did you get it right? Rob Brydon is the host of the new BBC show, which sees a group of strangers try to figure out where they are in Europe through a series of clues in a bid to win £100,000. Advertisement 5 Destination X contestants found themselves in chaos and confused over the next location Credit: BBC 5 The third episode saw the group split into two teams - and deception soon occurred Credit: PA Episode two ended with the Matterhorn being the destination, and Rob told viewers in tonight's episode that the bus was moving on to one of the five countries that borders with Switzerland. The windows of the bus are usually blacked out so the group can't get a steer on where they are, but at one point tonight, they were given the chance to look out and saw a roundabout with large red balls in the middle. The first clue had them thoroughly perplexed, but once they boarded a luxury train, they received more. Split into two teams, they headed into their respective carriages and saw a postcard with Oscar-winning actress Audrey Hepburn, a ticket stub with 'Oktober' written on it and a slip of paper with the word 'Dienstabteil' printed. Advertisement Another postcard featured a print which player Saskia asked: "Do we think these are roads or vines or like a forest maybe?" Meanwhile a book had a stamp from the Bavarian State Library. The two teams then went head-to-head in a challenge onboard the train, with the winning group receiving the chance to go into a glass sided carriage to discover more clues. The team that won consisted of Josh, Judith and Saskia, and when they reached the carriage they saw they were moving through a forest. Advertisement The train slowed down for them to see a number of new clues, which included a sign reading 'Donau' and a group of naturists eating large sausages and drinking from big glass beer steins. Meanwhile in the carriage, there was a football magazine with Harry Kane on the front which read 'Harry Kane strikes again' . Fans stunned as THREE Destination X contestants are immediately axed in brutal opening twist The clues all lead to Germany, and the winning team were convinced it was Munich, but decided to throw some red herrings into the mix when they returned to the others, and suggest what they had seen was pointing to Dortmund. But what did you think? Advertisement The episode featured a brutal twist which saw the three players who failed to make it onto the bus in episode one return in a bid to try and win a spot on board. LOSING GAME After a series of head-to-heads with Ben, James and Nick from the losing team, James was sent home there and then. The remaining players then entered their guesses for Destination X into the computer, before Rob revealed the results. It turned out Ben had been furthest from the actual location and would be leaving too. Advertisement And if you had guessed Munich, you were correct! Well done! Drag queen to take legal action over library row after online abuse and ‘false accusations'
Lady Portia Di Monte – one of two drag performers involved with the event at Holywood Arches Library – has said she is taking the legal action to protect her 'reputation and safety' Communities Minister Gordon Lyons said the drag queen event at a Belfast library should not have taken place (Liam McBurney/PA) Lady Portia Di'Monte took part in the event at a Belfast library which was targeted by protesters (Peter Morrison/PA) A drag queen is set to take legal action following a row over a story telling event in Belfast last weekend, saying she has been 'subjected to abuse and false accusations online'. Lady Portia Di Monte – one of two drag performers involved with the event at Holywood Arches Library – has said she is taking the legal action to protect her 'reputation and safety'. The event became the subject of controversy over recent days, with DUP Communities Minister saying the event was 'not appropriate for children' and adding that it 'should not have taken place and it has compromised the perception of our public libraries as a welcoming and inclusive space for all'. During the event Lady Portia read storybooks to the children, while Miss Dora Belle interpreted the stories into British Sign Language (BSL). In a statement released by Phoenix Law, Lady Portia said: "Over the weekend, a private, family-friendly Drag Queen Storytime event at Holywood Arches Library, part of the EastSide Arts Festival, became the subject of targeted misinformation and online abuse. "This joyful, ticketed event was held in a public library with full support from staff, parents, and festival organisers. It included readings of The Chronicles of Narnia, Dear Zoo, and stories celebrating diverse families. "Children also enjoyed inclusive games, music, and a British Sign Language session - promoting communication and belonging for all. 'Despite its warm and educational focus, the event was disrupted by protesters whose actions created fear and discouraged some families from attending. "The PSNI were present to maintain safety due to external threats - not because of any risk inside. "Since the event, I have been subjected to abuse and false accusations online. I am now seeking legal advice to protect my reputation and my safety. 'Representation matters. When children see diversity reflected around them-whether it's queer people, deaf individuals, blended families, or those who feel different-it builds empathy, understanding, and resilience. "These events are about joy, education, and creating spaces where every child can feel seen and valued. 'To the families, staff, and supporters-thank you. To those spreading hate-I will not be silenced. I remain committed to creating safe, welcoming spaces for all children to grow up feeling accepted and proud of who they are". Communities Minister Gordon Lyons said the drag queen event at a Belfast library should not have taken place (Liam McBurney/PA) The PSNI confirmed they attended the event after a report of a 'small demonstration' and two people were escorted from the building to ensure there would be 'no breach of the peace'. A PSNI spokesperson said: 'Police attended a report of a small demonstration at the Holywood Arches area of east Belfast on Friday 1st August, shortly after 1.40pm and engaged with those present. 'Two people were escorted from the building to further ensure that there would be no breach of the peace. "At this stage, no offences were determined to have taken place.' Solicitor Victoria Haddock added: "Since the event, our client has been subjected to a campaign of online abuse, including highly serious and defamatory allegations. 'These claims, made by various online groups, platforms, and individuals, are entirely unfounded, malicious, and constitute a deliberate effort to harm our client's reputation. 'The suggestion that drag performance in this context poses any risk to children is baseless and harmful. "We have now been instructed to initiate legal proceedings against all those responsible for publishing defamatory material, and to examine whether any criminal offences have been committed."
