Miki Hay, Founder & Managing Director of HDFX, with Ryan Woon, CEO of EcoSwift
Unveiled on 1st of August 2025, this milestone launch represents a significant step in Singapore's push towards green logistics and sustainable transportation. Tasked with bringing the event to life, HDFX delivered a seamless experience that reflected the innovation and ambition behind EcoSwift 's breakthrough.
To showcase the innovation and functionality of the station, HDFX designed and built a 3D, to-scale replica of the Battery Charge and Swop Station, which served not only as an educational centrepiece but also as the official launch mechanic, lighting up in sync with the unveiling moment. This dramatic visual display symbolised the activation of Singapore's first public charge-and-swop infrastructure. A giant LED screen was also installed to amplify the experience, highlight main features and communicated key messages to attending guests and media.
On the ground, HDFX oversaw the complete logistical setup, including tentage, cooling systems, AV equipment, staging, and guest flow management. The agency also supervised the live demonstration of EcoSwift's swop technology in action, a key moment of the launch that captured both the media's and attendees' attention.

'This project was an exciting challenge and a meaningful milestone for our team,' shared Chua Wen Fang, Events Executive at HDFX, who led the project. 'I'm incredibly proud of how everyone came together, from design to logistics, to execute every detail, from the 3D model to the live demo, with precision and purpose. It's not every day my team and I get to be part of something so forward-thinking and vital for Singapore's sustainability journey.'

Carlos Sainz Sounds Alarm Over Williams 2026 F1 Car Approach

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Williams driver Carlos Sainz called out the team's mentality heading into a crucial 2026 season. The upcoming season is set to bring one of the biggest changes in regulations since 2022, providing the chance for a massive grid shake-up. A team like Williams, which currently fields a competitive midfield car, has the opportunity to rise the grid into potential podium places if they nail their car next year. Sainz joined the Grove-based racing team with the hopes of 2026 and beyond being a renaissance period for Williams. Photo byFor the climb up the order, the former Ferrari driver believes that the car needs to be versatile, rather than generating inconsistent performances at different tracks. "It's [Hungaroring] always been a difficult track for the team," Sainz said. "We had quite a long debrief after qualifying because obviously I'm coming from the team that was on pole, going back to a team that was P13 with me. "I could give them very strong feedback on why this car is lagging around a track like this. Obviously, for this year we cannot do anything, but for the future, hopefully it's a very big learning curve for the team to know how we need to develop the Formula 1 car to be successful and competitive, also in tracks like Budapest or Barcelona. "We have relatively poor aero characteristics in long corners where you need to hold the downforce from entry to mid-corner. We struggle with these kind of things. "It's been a trend for a very long time. That's why long straights and sharp short corners is good for the team. But at the moment we get into long combined corners of Barcelona, Hungary, Qatar - the car really struggles. "It needs a very big design philosophy change for the future. We're trying to understand where and what to change to make sure that next year's car is a bit more of an all-rounder and gives us a better platform to work in multiple tracks." Williams is fifth in the Constructors' Standings with 70 points. They are 18 points clear of Aston Martin, who sit at 52 points. Over the past couple of races, Aston Martin have started gaining ground, finishing higher than Williams and looking like a renewed contender for the best of the rest. Alex Albon is responible for 54 points while Sainz only has 16 points to his name despite there being pace in the car. While next season is the priority for Sainz, he will need to assert himself as the top driver and prove himself at his new team. For more F1 news, head on over to Newsweek Sports.

NYPD buying $389K Wall-E style bomb robot for emergency service operations

The NYPD is shelling out nearly $400,000 for a remote controlled Wall-E look-alike robot that can roll into danger — so cops don't have to. The PackBot 525 — built by Brooklyn-based defense company FLIR — will be deployed by the department's Emergency Service Unit, The Post has learned. 'This one has a crazy mechanical arm,' a police source said. 'They can pick up weapons. Let's say a suspect is barricaded with a knife. You communicate through the robot. The city is shelling out about $390,000 for the super high-tech helper, which cops will control remotely. Advertisement The robot will be ESU's first response in bomb threat situations, letting police move and inspect suspicious packages from a safe distance, the source said. While it can't actually use a weapon, in a barricade it can clear rooms, relay video and audio and 'protects the officers,' the source added. The bot is equipped with HD cameras, improved lighting, a laser range finder and can lift up to 44 pounds, according to the manufacturer. It can be used for bomb disposal, surveillance, scouting and detecting or handling hazardous materials and radiation, and stows neatly in a vehicle — even fitting in a standard-sized car's trunk, the company's website claims. 4 ESU officers will control the PackBot remotely, using its HD cameras and improved lighting to scout scenes in real time. Teledyne FLIR Advertisement 'The new robot will allow our ESU officers to gain better command and control at the scene of an incident,' an NYPD spokesperson said. 'The robot can be used to navigate obstructions in a room and scan for persons in need of help.' The NYPD has been steadily adding mechanical muscle to its ranks over the last few years. In 2023, it brought back DigiDog — a 70-pound robotic canine that can be sent into dangerous situations — after shelving an earlier version that critics called dystopian. 4 The Wall-E lookalike — a $389,940 bot — can also detect hazardous materials and radiation without putting officers in harm's way. ©Walt Disney Co./Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement The PackBot is 'almost like DigiDog but a little more advanced,' the NYPD source said, and better suited for handling hostage situations. 'ESU really wants this,' the source added. The department piloted a 400-pound Autonomous Security Robot in Times Square that same year, but scrapped it after just four months — in part because it needed a cop chaperone and couldn't climb stairs. 4 The PackBot 525's compact design allows it to stow neatly in a police vehicle, even fitting in a standard car trunk. Teledyne FLIR And in 2024, it bought 14 'throw bots' that can be tossed into active scenes to beam back live video and audio. FLIR, an acronym for Forward-Looking Infrared, specializes in thermal imaging cameras and sensors and became part of California-based defense and electronics giant Teledyne Technologies in 2021.

How one real estate startup is taking on record heat this summer

As brutally high temperatures bake the nation this summer, cooling is becoming increasingly critical across commercial real estate property portfolios. Landlords are balancing soaring demand with rising costs, putting energy efficiency front and center. The trouble is that most large building systems essentially run blind. Temperatures are set centrally, so they don't know if certain parts of the building are running too hot or too cold. That's why so many office workers sit at their desks wearing sweaters in the summer and then feel overheated in the winter. Now, new technology is taking on the challenge. Runwise, a New York-based technology company, invented its own hardware/software platform to eliminate overheating in large buildings. It recently expanded that to cooling. "We're trying to hit these climate goals, yet right in our literal building we're throwing money away every time you run a boiler when it doesn't need to run, you're wasting money and you're producing carbon emissions unnecessarily that really make nobody comfortable," said Jeff Carleton, co-founder and CEO of Runwise. The company combines future weather algorithms with a wireless temperature sensor network that speaks to a Runwise central control system. That control analyzes the data and then operates the system more efficiently. For example, a 100,000-square-foot building may have just one boiler, but it needs multiple temperature inputs. Runwise would put in 20 to 25 sensors, which take an average based on the user setting and future weather, and then figure out how often to run the boiler. The tech is now installed in more than 10,000 buildings across 10 states, with roughly 1,000 customers, including major real estate owner-operators such as Related, Equity Residential, FirstService Residential, MTA, Port Authority, National Grid, Rudin, LeFrak, UDR, Douglas Elliman and Akam. Runwise claims to have collectively saved more than $100 million in energy costs to date. CNBC's Property Play with Diana Olick covers new and evolving opportunities for the real estate investor, delivered weekly to your inbox. Subscribe here to get access today. The startup recently announced a $55 million Series B funding round led by Menlo Ventures, bringing its total funding to $79 million. Other backers include Nuveen Real Estate, Munich Re Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, Multiplier Capital, Soma Capital and Fifth Wall. Carleton said Runwise will use the additional funding to grow the business nationwide and, of course, to incorporate artificial intelligence into its systems. "It's only going to become more and more ingrained in what we build, as we collect data from more and more buildings and build more advanced models on how to run them more efficiently," he said. "We plan to use AI to continuously make our algorithms more efficient."
