Mob of more than a dozen men vandalize taco truck in South LA, injuring at least 6 people
On Aug. 3, around 12:05 a.m., a group of about 15 males used baseball bats to vandalize a taco truck on Avalon Boulevard and attack people, injuring about six victims, according to LAPD spokesperson Rosario Cervantes.
One person was hospitalized with abrasions and lacerations and the other five weren't treated at a hospital, she said. No suspect information is available and no arrests have been made. The motive is still under investigation.
The taco truck employees started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the victims of the attack. One of the workers was the person hospitalized for their injuries.
'This is absolutely devastating to us on so many levels, we have been at this location for almost 15 years and nothing like this has ever happened,' according to the page. 'We have never had problems with anyone, our team works extremely hard. We hope that these people are prosecuted for their crimes. Our employees are traumatized by this and we will support them in every way possible.'
Video of the attack was also livestreamed on social media, showing the mob smashing windows in the truck.
'When one of my employees called me, 'Please, please call the police because about 25 peoples hit us with baseball bats and metal.' It was scary,' the owner, who didn't want his name used, told ABC7.

'They said they wrestled the knife from him, and then my son took off running,' Bridgette said, describing the behavior as completely out of character for her son. 'He [the cousin] only called me that one time. And then no effort was made to communicate with me. No effort was made to come back to the house to let me know,' she said, through tears. 'None of these kids that were with him have tried to call me and ask me if I found him, asked me if he's okay, asked me anything,' she said. She also accused law enforcement of not doing enough to help find her son. Brevard County Sheriff's Office did not respond immediately to requests for comment. Entire family — including kids ages 2, 5 and 12 — killed in fiery collision with wrong-way driver on Colorado highway
Two parents and their three young children were tragically killed in a fiery head-on collision with a wrong-way driver in Colorado early Monday morning. The family of five was driving in a GMC Yukon SUV on the southbound lane of a highway shortly after 7 a.m. when the other driver switched over from the northbound lane and crashed with such force that both vehicles burst into flames, KUSA reported. S.S.F. family seeks help after red-light runner crash kills mother, injures sons
The family of a woman killed in a car crash that also injured her two young sons last week in San Mateo is seeking help from the public as they grieve her loss. Yina Ramos Bello, 30, of South San Francisco was killed July 31 when her Prius was broadsided by the driver of a Ford SUV who ran a red light while exiting a freeway, officials said. Bello's family created a GoFundMe fundraiser to crowdfund financial support for a funeral, returning her remains to her homeland, medical bills for her sons, 6-year-old Mathias and 5-year-old Mateo, and living expenses for her husband, Alejandro. As of Wednesday evening, the fundraiser had received nearly $70,000 in donations. 'In the so-called 'Land of Opportunity,' how can everything be taken from someone in an instant?,' Bello's relative, Vanesa Ramirez Bello, wrote on the fundraiser's page. 'This could be any one of us. No family should have to bear financial hardship while navigating such profound grief. Your compassion and generosity will help Alejandro and his boys focus on healing instead of survival.' The collision occurred on Alameda de las Pulgas at a Highway 92 offramp in San Mateo, according to a previous Chronicle report. Bello died at the scene and her two boys were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and were listed in critical condition. The driver of the Ford SUV, a man, was also transported to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Investigators said he failed to stop at a red light while exiting east Highway 92 at the Alameda de las Pulgas intersection. The Ford broadsided the Prius, which was traveling northbound through the intersection on a green light. Police previously said they had not determined why the Ford's driver didn't stop, but said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. 'We have no new information at this time,' San Mateo police told the Chronicle in an email Wednesday. 'No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.'
