India's teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made headlines after smashing a stunning 143 off just 78 balls against England U-19 in Worcester. At just 14 years old, he became the fastest and youngest batter to score a century in Youth ODIs. The Bihar-born cricketer achieved the feat in the fourth YODI between India U-19 and England U-19 on Saturday.
Suryavanshi's knock was made up of 13 boundaries and 10 sixes and he batted with an impressive strike rate of 183.33. Thanks to his explosive knock, India U-19 defeated England U-19 by 55 runs to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series. After the match, Suryavanshi said his inspiration came from watching India Test captain Shubman Gill bat.

Suryavanshi reveals how Gill inspired him to bat long
Speaking in a video posted by the BCCI, Suryavanshi said he was deeply motivated by Gill's attitude during the ongoing second Test match against England, where the Indian skipper smashed a record 269 runs in the first innings and followed it up with a 161-run knock in the second innings. It is now the second-highest aggregate in a Test match.
'I got a lot of inspiration from him (Gill) because I saw the game. After making 100 and 200, he didn't leave the game and took the team ahead. I will try to make 200 in the next match. Next time, I will try to play full fifty overs. The more I make runs, the better it will be for my team. I will try to play the whole game in the next game. I will focus on that,' Suryavanshi said about Gill.

The India U-19 team was present at the stadium watching Gill's epic double hundred live, which left a big impact on Suryavanshi. The left-hander said he could have batted for more overs had he shown some more caution.
'I could have batted a bit longer because I had a lot of time. After that (his dismissal), there were 20 overs left. So, I could have made it longer. There was a shot (that he got out) that I couldn't give my 100%, that's why I couldn't do it,' he said.

However, Suryavanshi said he was not aware of the records he created until he returned to the dressing room.
'I didn't know that I had created a record after making 100. Our team manager Ankit sir told me that I have created a record. Everyone congratulated me. I am happy that I have done something good for the team. I will talk to my family and friends,' he noted.

Siraj stares at umpire after Root escapes, Kumble calls out his credibility on live TV: 'Paul Reiffel has decided...'
Mohammed Siraj had an eventful day at Lord's during Day 4 of the third Test against England. After clinching two wickets and enduring a failed review in the first session, Siraj continued his intensity in the second, keeping the pressure on the England batters. During the 38th over, Siraj troubled the side's primary batter, Joe Root, with a delivery that sharply moved into the right hander. Mohammed Siraj was absolutely furious after Joe Root survived a dismissal(X) Root had stepped across and down the pitch, missing the delivery completely, and was struck in front of middle. With no bat involved and three reds seeming likely, Siraj and India were convinced. But umpire Paul Reiffel stayed unmoved, and the DRS returned 'umpire's call' on impact. The Indian players didn't hide their disbelief, and Siraj was visibly furious, letting out a frustrating scream as he returned to the bowling mark. Abhimav Mukund, who was on-air, also pointed out that Siraj 'stared' at Reiffel as he walked back to bowl again. However, even Anil Kumble didn't step back from throwing a taunt at the umpire after the near-miss. Immediately following the umpire's call decision, fellow commentator Jonathan Trott remarked, 'You thought it was crashing into the inside of the stump. When you saw that normal speed, it was hardly missing leg-stump. England survive again. India animated.' But it was Anil Kumble's response that truly pierced the mood. With a wry chuckle and an unmistakable tone of irony, he replied: 'It seems Paul Reiffel has decided that it is going to be not out. Anything close, not out.' Root falls soon The miss didn't hurt India much, however, as spinner Washington Sundar soon dismissed Root on 40 to provide India with a much-needed breakthrough. He further removed Jamie Smith for 8 again, as England went back at Tea with six wickets lost for 175. The Lord's Test will effectively be decided on second innings after both teams finished at an identical score of 387 in the first.

India vs England: Roles reversed on Day 4 at Lord's as Akash Deep replicates Zak Crawley's time-wasting antics
After the dismissal of three Indian batters, nightwatchman Akash Deep come to the middle and showcased the time-wasting antics that English opener Zak Crawley displayed at the end of Day 3. read more Much like Day 3, drama unfolded at the end of Day 4 as well at Lord's. The difference was that it was India who were batting this time and England were in the attack, with their pacers getting the required purchase from the surface. A flurry of wickets in the final hour brought nightwatchman Akash Deep to the crease. The Indian pacer was entrusted with the responsibility to face the music and bat with KL Rahul till the end of the day. What followed for Deep was a tough battle with Brydon Carse. Despite putting in all the hard work, the Indian could not remain unbeaten and fell at the stroke of the stumps. He had no answer to one that came in from Ben Stokes, next thing, his off-stump got rattled. India end the day's play in a precarious situation at 58/4. He carried out the time-wasting act by calling out the physio in the middle. After being fed with their own medicine, England player Ben Duckett reacted in a similar way how Jasprit Bumrah did on Day 3. He gave a sarcastic clap upon witnessing Akash Deep trying to kill time. Rahul kept his composure and did not let his focus slip till the end of the day. Ben Stokes should realize that sledging KL Rahul is like sledging to a wall. India ended Day 4 at 58/4 after 17.4 overs. The visitors still need another 135 runs, which will be the task at hand on Day 5. The match is set up brilliantly with both teams equally in it.

Theatric Lord's! Akash Deep does a Zak Crawley on Day 4; Ben Stokes comes across to KL Rahul & claps sarcastically
Things got heated up for the second day in a row as the third Test between India and England is very alive after fourth day's play at the Lord's on Sunday. After the Shubman Gill-Zak Crawley last-over time-wasting drama on third day, it was Akash Deep's turn on Day 4 with a attempt to not play an extra over. It all started in the 17th over of the Indian second innings. After England's unsuccessful LBW appeal, Akash Deep called the Team India physio to get some strapping on his right leg, in an attempt to eat up time - similar to that of Crawley on the previous day. While the camera panned to KL Rahul's animated chatter with Crawley, Ben Duckett, standing at point, started clapping sarcastically towards Akash Deep. Things got spicy two balls later when Akash Deep blocked a Brydon Carse delivery as the England pacer had an animated chat with the batter. The Indian tells Carse to get on with it. It was in that moment when Stokes came across Rahul, clapping sarcastically, just like what Shubman Gill did to England openers on the third day much to the cheers from the Lord's crowd. Rahul handled the situation with a smile. However, Stokes had the last laugh as the England captain cleaned up nightwatchman Akash Deep to reduce India at 58/4 at stumps on the fourth day. After both teams scored 387 in their respective first innings, England were bundled out for 192 runs in their second essay, thanks to Washington Sundar's 4/22. With 193 runs to win, India had the disastrous start with Yashasvi Jaiswal departing for nought. Karun Nair and captain Shubman Gill too perished cheaply, putting India in a tricky situation. With six wickets in hand, India need 135 runs more on the final day to take a a 2-1 lead in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Rahul will resume on 33 not out. India still have batters Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar left in their line-up.
