Vairamuthu expresses discontent with Tamil industry; claims film titles lifted from his lyrics without credit and consent
Celebrated Tamil poet and lyricist
Vairamuthu
took to his official X (formerly
Twitter
) handle to express disappointment over a recurring trend in Tamil cinema. In a post, he pointed out that numerous film titles have been lifted directly from his song lyrics without his consent.
While his poetic verse continues to resonate widely, the lack of basic acknowledgement from filmmakers has left the veteran writer disheartened.
Vairamuthu specifically mentioned that none of the directors or producers sought his permission before using his lyrical lines as titles. Not only did they fail to ask for authorization, but they also did not even show the courtesy of informing him. 'Not one, not two,' he noted, emphasizing that this is not an isolated occurrence.
The post included a long list of film titles inspired by his work, illustrating how widespread the practice has become.
List of films borrowing his words
Among the titles he cited were 'Ponmaalai Pozhudhu,' 'Ilaya Nila,' 'Mouna Raagam,' 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa,' 'Neethane En Pon Vasantham,' 'Kan Sivanthaal Mann Sivakkum,' and many more. These are iconic titles that have become part of Tamil cinema's rich legacy.

Despite this, Vairamuthu clarified that he never confronted anyone about the issue and has refrained from raising objections, even when he came across these titles in public spaces.
A poised and generous response
Though clearly disappointed, Vairamuthu concluded his note with a graceful perspective. He remarked that while wealth may not be a shared asset in society, knowledge and creativity often become public treasures. 'In a society where wealth is not public property, at least knowledge becomes common,' he wrote, displaying both magnanimity and quiet pride in the enduring impact of his words.

Shivangi Verma hits back after Govind Namdev reveals the story behind their viral photo: 'Buzurg satiya jaate hain'
Veteran actor , 70, recently broke his silence on the dating rumours involving his 31-year-old co-star Shivangi Verma. He revealed that their viral photo was part of a planned publicity strategy for their upcoming film Gaurishankar Goharganj Wale. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now However, it appears that is not at all pleased with this revelation. Govind Namdev clarifies the viral photo In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Namdev explained, 'When the film was being prepared, we had a discussion with the director, producer, and Shivangi about planning a strong publicity strategy. I agreed that it was necessary,' he said, adding that they had taken photos during morning workouts and shoot days. Namdev said that Shivangi herself had suggested the idea of projecting them as a romantic pair to generate buzz. 'Shivangi insisted that we should have a romantic pairing, that the images needed to convey a certain chemistry. I agreed, but also asked what kind of content she had in mind,' he explained. 'She said, 'There's a lot. Content matters most.' I thought, fine, let's do it.' However, he said things went south when she proceeded with tagging and posting content without informing him. 'That's where the misunderstanding started. People began speculating about us, and frankly, I didn't appreciate it. That's why I stopped talking to her,' he stated. Shivangi posts a scathing message on Instagram Shivangi didn't take these remarks lightly. On Wednesday evening, she took to her Instagram Stories and posted a scathing message in Hindi: 'Sahi kaha hai kisi ne, buzurg badhti umr mein satiya jaate hain...G***** Tired of too many ads? go ad free now N*****.' The comment, roughly translated to 'Old people lose their senses with age,' was seen as a direct dig at Namdev. The use of his initials left little doubt about whom she was referring to. 'I'm not here to prove anything,' says Namdev In the same interview, Namdev also addressed rumours suggesting that his marriage with wife Sudha Namdev had hit a rough patch due to the controversy. 'There were rumours that my household was affected and me and my wife were considering living separately. I didn't react then, and I don't react now. Everyone can see the truth,' he said. 'The more I raped, murdered, misbehaved onscreen, the more I got close to my family,' says popular villain Govind Namdev He added that the situation forced him to speak up, especially after people close to him expressed concern. 'People had begun feeling sorry for me — not just the audience, but even close friends and family. So yes, as a respected actor, I felt a responsibility to speak up. That's why I shared two posts initially — just to set the record straight.'

Fans are betting Bill Belichick breaks up before Cardi B — his love life is now a full-blown market
(Credit: Getty Images) So, we're betting on breakups now. Yes, a prediction platform is taking wagers on whether 72-year-old NFL legend Bill Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson will split before August. Even better? They're being compared to Cardi B and Stefon Diggs . The market says Belichick's odds of staying cuffed are lower than a wide receiver's route discipline, and Twitter is treating the whole thing like a reality TV subplot. Polymarket opens betting line on Belichick-Hudson breakup and the odds are not in their favor Polymarket, a popular online prediction platform, launched a betting market asking users if Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson would end their relationship by July 31, 2025. And guess what? At one point, the odds were worse for them than for the wildcard duo of Stefon Diggs and Cardi B, who've been caught in romance rumors since May. That's right. The couple with nearly 50 years between them is now being treated like a walking tabloid bet and apparently, the internet thinks it's not going to last. Fans are reacting like it's fantasy football but for breakups Once the Polymarket trend hit social media, the reactions poured in like Belichick play-calling memes: The idea of betting on NFL romance timelines has fans fully unglued, mostly because Belichick and Hudson have been the least likely pair since day one. They were first spotted publicly after his Patriots exit, and she's now reportedly involved in his media ventures and UNC coaching stint. Bill Belichick's been under the microscope and so has Hudson This isn't the first time their relationship has made headlines. Jordon Hudson has been accused of having 'too much influence' on Belichick's image lately, especially as he takes on a new role in college football. Critics say she's shifting his brand, while defenders argue the age-gap discourse is overblown. Either way, the buzz was already building, the betting market just made it pop. Only in 2025 could an NFL coaching legend's relationship be turned into a trading card-level prediction market. Whether Belichick and Hudson stay together or not, the internet is clearly more invested in their personal life than his playbook. And if you're wondering whether to put money down? Just remember, in the words of Twitter: 'Belichick can handle the Jets, but can he handle Gen Z love?' Deshaun Watson's wedding gets meme'd: Twitter says 'happy ending' hits different here
Image via instagram/@jillyanais So, Deshaun Watson is getting married. Huge ring? Check. Fancy announcement? Check. A headline that was meant to go viral? Oh, it did, but not for the reasons he probably hoped. The moment Watson's engagement to influencer Jilly Anais hit the timeline, fans didn't hold back. From poking fun at the wording ('threw away a bachelor party??') to calling for his retirement over a wedding post, NFL Twitter turned a romantic moment into straight-up roast session. The $2.5M ring and 'wild bachelor party' were meant to impress but fans said 'lol, no' Deshaun reportedly proposed with a $2.5 million diamond ring, called the 'Glory Treasure,' to longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais. The two are tying the knot this month, and Watson allegedly celebrated with a wild bachelor party last weekend. But instead of applause, fans' reactions were brutal and petty in the most internet way possible. Fans trolled everything from the phrasing to Watson's career, and the sarcasm was peak Twitter The internet didn't miss a beat: These weren't just throwaway comments, they came with layers. 'Threw away' became a meme itself. 'Happy ending??' was a not-so-subtle nod to Watson's past controversies. And to top it off, fans questioned why this announcement even needed to exist in the first place .
