OPSC OCS Main Exam: Important notice on optional paper released at opsc.gov.in, details here
Odisha Public Service Commission has released an important notice on the OPSC OCS Main Exam option paper. Candidates who have appeared for the Odisha Civil Services 2023 main examination can check the official notice on the official website of OPSC at opsc.gov.in.
The written examination was held on April 27, 2025. The option paper (i.e. Anthropology, Paper I and Anthropology, Paper II) is held in two sessions - from 9 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. During the written examination of Anthropology, Paper I in the 1st session, it was found that the question-cum-answer booklet of Anthropology, Paper I contains questions from the syllabus of Anthropology Paper II.
The Commission then directed the continuation of the examination, and the concerned candidates were informed to appear for the question paper.

However, OPSC has decided that after the opening of question cum answer booklet packet of Anthropology Paper II in the 2nd session, the final decision will be taken.
The Odisha Civil Services Main examination was held from April 19 to April 27, 2025. It was held in two shifts: the first from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and the second from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The exam commenced with Odia Language and English Language papers and concluded with Optional Subject papers I and II.

The main examination carries 2000 marks, including 250 for the Interview/Personality test.

Madras HC Rejects NEET 2025 Re-Exam pleas, Clears Way For Result Declaration
Last Updated: The Madras High Court has cleared the way for the declaration of NEET UG 2025 results by dismissing pleas that sought to stop it due to power outages at Chennai centres. The Madras High Court on Friday cleared the path for the declaration of NEET (UG) 2025 results by dismissing a batch of petitions that sought to restrain the National Testing Agency (NTA) from releasing the results, as reported by news agency PTI. The petitions, filed by S Sai Priya and 15 other students, requested the court to direct the NTA to conduct a re-examination for candidates who experienced power outages at four exam centres in Chennai during the test. Dismissing the plea, Justice C Kumarappan said, 'In the present case, I find no mala fide intent on the part of the respondents. Nationwide, approximately 22 lakh students appeared for the NEET (UG) 2025. Allowing a re-exam based on such localised and minor disruptions would undermine the level playing field for millions of candidates." The court, therefore, found no merit in the writ petitions. Previously, on May 17, a vacation bench had issued an interim order restraining the NTA from declaring the results, in response to the alleged difficulties caused by the power disruption. In his detailed ruling, Justice Kumarappan noted, 'The petitioners primarily argue that due to power failure, lighting conditions were inadequate at the centres, creating a distracting atmosphere that affected their focus and performance." The judge emphasised that the disruption was due to unexpected rain and storm. Supporting the NTA's stance, the court observed that the exam was held during daylight hours—between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM—ensuring sufficient natural light. 'When the NTA, following field verification and applying scientific methods, has concluded that no re-examination is necessary, such a decision should be respected unless proven to be influenced by mala fides," Justice Kumarappan added. NEET PG 2025 Exam on August 3 The Supreme Court on Thursday gave permission to the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to hold the NEET-PG 2025 exam on August 3. The court said it was satisfied that the reasons given by the NBE for choosing this date were genuine. Earlier, on May 30, the court had ruled that the exam must be held in a single shift instead of two. In their petitions, S Sai Priya and 15 other students also sought a direction to the NTA to conduct re-examination for candidates, who had experienced power outages at four centres in Chennai, where they appeared for the examination. Dismissing the petitions, Justice C Kumarappan said, 'In the instant cases, I do not find any mala fides on the part of the respondents. Furthermore, all over India, there were about 22 lakhs students have participated in the NEET (UG) 2025 examination.' Against this background, if any re-examination is permitted on trivial grounds, the same would seriously affect the level playing field of more than two million candidates. Hence, the court does not find any merit in these writ petitions. In an interim order, a vacation judge had on May 17 restrained NTA from releasing the results of NEET-2025 due to alleged difficulties faced by a group of students because of power outage at four examination centres. In his order, Justice Kumarappan said 'If we look at the contention of the petitioners, the main ground urged by them is that on account of power outage, there was poor light in the Centres, which caused a distracting environment, and hampered the candidates' ability to concentrate and to perform at their best'. It was pertinent to mention here that the power outage happened due to sudden rain and storm. As rightly contended by the Additional Solicitor General, the examination was conducted during day time between 2 pm to 5 pm, where there was a natural ambient light, the judge added. When the authority (NTA), after field verification and with the scientific method, had arrived at a reasonable conclusion that there are no grounds for re-examination, the same needs to be accepted, unless the said report is tainted with mala fides', the judge added.
