Kelly Clarkson Can't ‘Risk Damaging' Vocal Cords Amid Canceled Shows as She Fights ‘Hidden Battles'

Less than two hours before she was set to hit the stage on July 4, Kelly Clarkson canceled the opening night of her highly anticipated Studio Sessions residency at Caesars Palace to avoid potential injury to her voice. 'She belts out every single note,' a Las Vegas insider spilled to Page Six on the reasons behind the sudden change of plans. 'She's an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she's come incredibly close to needing surgery before.' 'She cannot risk damaging her cords further,' explained the insider. 'She's on thin ice.' A second source revealed that Clarkson, 43, is struggling with 'serious hidden battles' that 'very few people are privy to.' 'Kelly's personal life is so insanely complicated,' the source shares. 'It's a source of emotional, and therefore, physical distress for her.' The 'Because of You' singer's 18-show residency at the Colosseum was announced in February, causing many fans to rush to buy tickets. However, they were left disappointed when Clarkson was forced to cancel her first and second shows on such short notice – especially seeing as some fans from out of state had booked pricey travel and hotels so that they could attend. Shortly after her decision to postpone the concert, a 'devastated' Clarkson took to Instagram on July 4, to explain the upsetting situation to her followers. 'We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans'' she said at the time. 'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice.' 'I want the shows to be perfect for y'all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve,' she continued. 'The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong. I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on.' While some fans in the comments section offered her words of love and support, others were left frustrated and suggested her decision was 'disrespectful' to attendees. One person wrote, 'I'm literally here in a homemade Kelly Clarkson T-shirt. I spent $700 on flights and $1000 on [the] hotel. Canceling one hour before the show is INSANE.' A second person pointed out, 'The crazy part is there isn't even an apology in this post.' 'I wish you would've done this sooner than 15 mins before doors opening,' a third fan chimed in, before adding, 'I hope you feel better.'

‘Worried' Dolly Parton Offers Support to ‘Emotional' Kelly Clarkson Amid Difficult Time (Exclusive)

Dolly Parton is ready to take Kelly Clarkson under her wing and help her get through a dark time as she struggles with juggling the pressures of fame and her personal life, according to a source. The 'Because of You' singer, 43, is 'in a bad place right now' after canceling her first two Las Vegas residency shows at Caesars Palace, and Parton, 79, is 'very worried' as she tries to 'get to the bottom of what's wrong,' the source exclusively tells Star. 'Dolly's calling and checking in with Kelly and offering support,' the source continues. 'She wants to get together and have a talk, just the two of them, without any interruptions.' The 'Jolene' songstress has even invited Clarkson out to her farm in Tennessee and 'hopes' she takes her up on her offer soon 'because this can't go on,' the source says. 'Dolly wants to give Kelly some country comforting,' adds the source, '[and] also just give her some serious pep talks on how to handle the pressure cooker of fame and learn to delegate more.' Clarkson's friends have realized that she's 'stretching herself too thin and trying to do it all, plus be a parent' to her and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's kids, River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, following their 2020 split. Despite having finalized their divorce in 2022, she is still 'extremely emotional and affected' by it, per the source, and Parton 'wants to be there for her.' As Star previously reported, the 'Stronger' artist recently faced considerable backlash from fans after canceling her July 4th Vegas show less than two hours before she was set to hit the stage. That same day, she explained that she did so to avoid risking damage to her vocal cords. 'The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong,' she said on Instagram at the time. 'I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on.' Fans flooded the comments section with criticism for her decision to make a last-minute announcement as many people flew in from out of town and were already at the venue when the show was canceled. 'I'm literally here in a homemade Kelly Clarkson T-shirt. I spent $700 on flights and $1,000 on [the] hotel,' one upset fan wrote, and another said, 'I wish you would've done this sooner than 15 mins before doors opening.' Earlier this month, a staffer who works on The Kelly Clarkson Show said 'the whiplash is a lot' with the singer right now. 'She's all in on the talk show, then she's not, then she is again,' the staffer told the Daily Mail. 'She's performing in Vegas, now she's not. It's her voice. It's personal issues. It's enough to make you crazy.' Solve the daily Crossword

Tennessee theme park named best in US – above Disney, Universal: Tripadvisor awards

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — As Dollywood continues to welcome visitors for its 40th year of operation, the Pigeon Forge-based theme park has once again been recognized as one of the most popular theme parks in the world. Tripadvisor officials named Dollywood the number one theme park in the U.S. as part of its 2025 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Awards. This marks the third time in the last four years that the park has garnered the top spot. See the full top 10 below: Dollywood (Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Magic Kingdom Park (Bay Lake, Fla.) Knoebels Amusement Resort (Elysburg, Pa.) Disney's Hollywood Studios (Bay Lake, Fla.) Universal Islands of Adventure (Orlando, Fla.) Fun Spot America (Kissimmee, Fla.) LEGOLAND California (Carlsbad, Calif.) Universal Studios Florida (Orlando, Fla.) Silver Dollar City (Branson, Mo.) Whale's Tale Waterpark (Lincoln, N.H.) See the complete list on the Tripadvisor website. Dollywood was also the only U.S.-based theme park to make the top 15 of Tripadvisor's 2025 worldwide rankings, coming in at No. 11 on that list. The 165-acre theme park is co-owned by Dolly Parton's entertainment company, Dolly Parton Productions, and Herschend Family Entertainment. Annual attendance regularly eclipses two million visitors, according to Dollywood is the largest employer in Sevier County and a 2021 study by the Tennessee Department of Transportation found that the park had an annual direct economic impact of $1.8 billion. While Parton famously does not ride roller coasters, the park has consistently added new attractions for visitors to enjoy. 'If I get on that thing, you'd find my wigs on one of those trees,' she joked in 2023 about the new 'Big Bear Mountain' roller coaster that can reach speeds up to 48 mph. Park officials revealed ahead of the 2025 season that plans are in the works for a new ride that is the 'biggest, most ambitious and possibly the most expensive project that the park has undertaken.' While project details have not yet been revealed, they said that visitors will 'take flight' in 2026. The awards are based on traveler reviews and ratings during a 12-month period. Travelers' Choice Best of the Best award winners are among the top 1 percent of listings, according to Tripadvisor. 'We don't provide the best guest experience in the country to try to win these awards,' said Dollywood Parks & Resorts President Eugene Naughton in a statement. 'We do it because it is the right thing to do. Our guests have options on where they can spend their time, and when they choose to visit us, we want to give them a world-class experience.' 'This award is humbling though, because it is derived from real reviews left by our actual guests describing their time here at our parks and resorts,' he added.
