Chef's 'two secret steps' to make perfect scrambled eggs every time
In the UK, scrambled eggs take the crown as the top egg dish, with almost half of Britons (49 per cent) considering it their most favoured way to enjoy eggs, according to Egg Info. Though highly popular, cooking up the perfect scrambled eggs might seem daunting for some.
Fear not, as esteemed chef and culinary tutor Frank Proto has divulged his tips on Epicurious' YouTube channel for achieving that ideal plate of eggs. In his instructional video, Proto explains: "We're talking glistening, silky, creamy scrambled eggs - not the dry burnt kind."

He further elaborates on his own preference, stating: "My perfect scrambled eggs are creamy and silky, not fluffy - I don't like fluffy eggs."
Wondering about Frank's recipe for success? He reveals: "Butter, timing, and a little bit of love," is what it takes.
To make exceptional scrambled eggs, Frank advises focusing on two main tasks: 1. Beating the eggs properly and 2. Cooking them carefully.
1. Beating the eggs
Proto begins by saying: "I have three eggs in the bowl. I'm going to whisk my eggs with a fork, it won't incorporate too much air into the eggs - this way they stay nice and silky, not fluffy."
He emphasises: "I like to beat my eggs until they're just combined and then I stop. No extra air in there."
2. Cooking the eggs
Moving on to the cooking stage, he notes: "So I'm going to preheat my pan and I'm using a non-stick pan. But believe it or not, if you don't preheat the pan, the eggs tend to stick."
Proto advises on the art of introducing fat, reports the Express. He said: "I like to get some fat or oil in there and then cook my eggs.
"My pan is nice and hot, it's over medium heat, I'm going to use a fair amount of unsalted butter - the butter gives eggs flavour and then I can control how much salt goes into them.
"You can use vegetable oil instead of butter, but there's no flavour in that."

MasterChef fans spot serious editing blunder amid ongoing controversy
MasterChef is back on TV screens with its 21st series after its hosts have been embroiled with controversies. Yet another MasterChef controversy has arisen as viewers spotted the awkward moment TV bosses edited out a contestant from the cooking show. Long-time hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode were axed following individual controversies of sexual misconduct and racism respectively, but the new series is still airing on the BBC. More than 40 historic complaints made against Wallace have been upheld according to a report, along with a claim that Torode once used a racist term, which he denies, reports the Express. Despite the backlash from fans to cancel the show, producers decided to air series 21 featuring both previous hosts, which had already been filmed. During Wednesday, August 13's episode- the fourth in the series - five amateur cooks entered the BBC kitchen rather than the usual six, which was met with suspicion from fans. The long shot of the group walking into the studio raised a few eyebrows after the show diverted from its usual format, instead featuring close ups of their faces or in pairs. Once inside, John and Gregg explained how two cooks would automatically go through to the next round after cooking their opening first dish. The two men in the competition – Sam and Trevor – made it through to the next round, leaving the three women – Hazel, Aileen, and Marcella – to compete again. After cooking a second dish, the remaining chefs returned to the room, but the footage abruptly cut after Hazel walked in behind Marcella and Aileen. As John revealed who the remaining two chefs would be going through to the final round, the camera shots remained closely cropped to each of the three women, rather than the wider shots that are typical of the show. Marcella was chosen first, before John announced Hazel's name. But in a bizarre moment, Hazel – who was at the end of the line – looked to her left and gave a thankful nod before looking to her right and doing the same to Aileen, who was in the middle of the trio. But as far as viewers could see, there was no one on Hazel's left that she would need to thank. As Aileen left the room, Hazel appeared to gesture with her arm to the left, before a big empty space next to Hazel flashed up on screen, making the interaction even more unusual. As it turned out, the odd episode was due to another sixth contestant's request to be edited out of the series because of its publicly shamed hosts. It didn't take long before fans flooded to X - formerly known as Twitter - to praise the editors on their hard work to seamlessly remove one contestant from the episode, despite the head-nod blunder. One user lauded: "Kudos to the editors of this episode. You would hardly have known that one contestant had been edited out." Another agreed: "I've just witnessed a masterpiece of editing" as a third echoed: "They managed to completely edit out Sarah Shafi! How was it possible?" Sarah Shafi, from Leeds, argued that airing the series sent the wrong message after the BBC sacked both presenters. The 57-year-old contestant claimed producer Banijay had offered to edit her out of the episode she featured in. But the participant dismissed the proposal and called for the whole series to be scrapped. Once the broadcaster confirmed the series was going ahead, Ms Shafi agreed to be edited out. A spokesperson for Banijay previously said: "As we said when we announced the show would be aired, this was not an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone would agree with it. "Banijay consulted with all the contestants before that decision was made and there was widespread support for it going ahead. The focus of the series is the contestants, as it always is. The edit has been looked at in light of the upheld findings." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Gwendoline Christie is returning to Netflix's Wednesday, but how tall is the Weems actress and where have you seen her before? Netflix thrilled fans yesterday by unveiling a new trailer for Wednesday season 2 part 2, which featured the return of several beloved characters. In a surprising development, it looks like Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie) will be making her comeback in season 2, despite meeting her end in the inaugural season of the Netflix series. Nevertheless, it appears she won't be returning to the land of the living, but will instead serve as a fresh spiritual mentor for the show's protagonist Wednesday (Jenna Ortega). As Christie makes her anticipated return to our television screens, viewers have been left wondering about the acclaimed Game of Thrones star's tall stature and what her fresh role involves. Is Gwendoline Christie Wednesday season 2 part 2 trailer? Netflix audiences catch their initial look at Gwendoline Christie's comeback as Principal Weems in the trailer for Wednesday season 2 part 2, reports the Express. After Wednesday's brush with death, the former Head Teacher clarifies to the teenager that she is "not in hell", before presenting herself as a new spirit guide. It seems that Weems, whom the other characters cannot see, will be watching over Wednesday and providing her with guidance in the latter portion of season 2. How tall is Gwendoline Christie? Gwendoline Christie's stature measures 6ft 3in, with the actress reaching 191cm in height. The beloved star has previously revealed how her considerable height resulted in her being bullied when she was younger. She was additionally informed she would never make it as a performer due to her towering frame, but that proved to be completely wrong. Christie has since revealed that these doubters only spurred her on to chase her dream of acting. Where have you seen Gwendoline Christie before? Besides Netflix's Wednesday, fans of Severance might have noticed Gwendoline Christie gracing their screens earlier this year, as she took on the role of a mysterious Lumon employee in the Apple TV+ thriller. Game of Thrones enthusiasts will also fondly remember her for her portrayal of the legendary Brienne of Tarth, a role that catapulted her to international stardom. Moreover, Star Wars aficionados may recognise Christie for her role as First Order stormtrooper Captain Phasma in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, a part she has labelled as "revolutionary".
