Muscat– The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) and Heilongjiang University have signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC), marking the beginning of a transformative educational partnership. This strategic alliance establishes a comprehensive framework for cross-institutional academic enrichment and cultural exchange, uniting educational traditions from Oman and China.

Oman, Japan sign pact to boost environmental cooperation
Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) and Japan's Ministry of the Environment signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Tuesday to strengthen collaboration on environmental issues and support sustainable development initiatives. The agreement aims to accelerate the implementation of multilateral environmental accords such as the Paris Agreement, while establishing a framework for cooperation based on equality, reciprocity, and mutual benefit. The MoC was signed by Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, and Matsuzawa Yutaka, Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs at Japan's Ministry of the Environment. The signing ceremony was attended by H E Kiyoshi Serizawa, Ambassador of Japan to Oman. Key areas of cooperation outlined in the MoC include climate change mitigation and adaptation, waste management, biodiversity conservation through nature-based solutions, and environmental monitoring. Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate on training programmes, expert visits, scientific research, knowledge exchange, interactive discussions, and joint projects in existing and emerging areas of cooperation.

NCSI signs MoC in fields of training, research
MUSCAT: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) in Muscat. The MoC seeks to develop academic training and scholarly research. Under the terms of the memorandum, the two sides will cooperate to enhance practical training opportunities for college students, provide academic services that meet the needs of both parties and implement studies and research projects. The MoC also aims to expand the use of smart solutions in statistical and information technologies and develop training programmes to hone the skills of national human resources. The MoC was signed by Dr Khalifa bin Abdullah al Barwani, CEO of the NCSI, and Dr Muneer bin Mohammed al Maskari, CEO of the MCBS. Dr Al Barwani said that the MoC affirms the two sides' commitment to establish a practical environment for innovation and research in the Sultanate of Oman. He added that partnership with the MCBS constitutes a milestone in grooming a generation of national cadres capable of effectively contributing to building an integrated knowledge system that supports the process of decision-making based on reliable data. Dr Al Barwani pointed out that the MoC also enhances efforts to develop statistical work in the Sultanate of Oman by sharing expertise and resources.
