YouTubers Attacked In Dharmasthala, 4 Hospitalised
Mangaluru (Karnataka): Four men, representing three YouTube channels, including a cameraman, were attacked by a large mob near Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday evening, when they were interviewing a person, amid an ongoing probe by SIT into the alleged mass burial case, police said. The incident occurred close to the residence of a college-goer, who was raped and found dead in 2012 in Dharmasthala town. Ajay Anchan, Abhishek, Vijay and a cameraman, were interviewing Rajat of "Bigg Boss Kannada" when they were assaulted by an estimated 50 to 60 individuals near Pangal Cross here. They also damaged the camera equipment. All four were rushed to Benaka Hospital in Ujire. One of them is reported to be in critical condition, police said. Police have launched an investigation and no arrests have been reported yet. Following the incident at Pangal Cross, two groups started abusing and pelting stones on each other. The police tried to pacify the mob, but when it showed signs of escalation, they resorted to a mild lathi charge to disperse them. The police have beefed up the security in sensitive areas. Dakshina Kannada district Superintendent of Police Arun K urged people to remain calm and said that action would be taken once the identities of the suspects are confirmed. Authorities said the motive behind the incident remains unclear and are reviewing nearby CCTV footage. The Special Investigation Team was formed after the Karnataka Women's Commission chairperson Nagalakshmi Choudhary, several members from civil societies and lawyers demanded an investigation into the allegation of mass burial of people in Dharmasthala. There were allegations that "powerful people" were behind the murder of girls and young women, which prompted the state government to form an SIT. The SIT has so far dug out 13 locations and reportedly found bones and skeletons in two of them.

Dharmasthala: Clash breaks out between two groups amid SIT probe; police resort to 'lathi charge'
Mangaluru: Amid the SIT probe into the mass burial case in Dharmasthala, two groups clashed near the town on Wednesday with a few YouTubers being targeted, leading to a lathi charge by the police to disperse the in the night, one group protested in front of the Dharmasthala police station demanding action against those 'tarnishing the image of the holy place'. Man guns down 25 dogs, animal activists outraged
1 2 Jhunjhunu: A gruesome incident in Kumawas village, located in the Nawalgarh area of Jhunjhunu district, has sparked outrage by animal activists after at least two individuals were filmed shooting and killing more than 25 dogs. The horrific act was committed on Aug 2 and 3 but it wasn't until a video surfaced on social media on Wednesday that local police acted. The video footage shows two individuals on a motorcycle chasing and firing at stray dogs with a gun, leaving their bodies scattered across village streets and fields. Another person on a second bike is partially seen in the same video following and filming the duo on the first bike. It was unclear if the individual on second bike was complicit in the crime. Preliminary police probe later identified one of the accused as Shyochand Bavariya, a resident of Dumra village. Local police have registered a case against Bavariya under multiple sections of the Animal Cruelty Act and the Arms Act. The incident has sparked outrage among animal lovers and local residents, who are calling for strict action against the perpetrators. Superintendent of Police, Jhunjhunu, Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay confirmed the video's authenticity and dispatched head constable Shubhkaran to the village for further investigation. "We are aware of the video showing a person shooting at dogs in Kumawas village. Immediate steps were taken to investigate the matter," Upadhyay said.
