UNRWA warns about continued aid blockade on Gaza

ALBAWABA - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) expressed concerns over Israel's continuous ban on the entry of humanitarian aid, medical, and commercial supplies into Gaza. Also Read Israeli strike hits UNRWA building in Gaza, 23 killed
Following the collapse of the Gaza ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel, after the two sides failed to reach a new agreement, Tel Aviv banned the entry of any assistance to the Strip despite international warnings that this could lead to starvation.
UNRWA posted on Sunday: "It has been over 9 weeks of siege on #Gaza, with the State of Israel banning the entry of all humanitarian aid, medical, and commercial supplies. The longer this blockade continues, the more irreversible harm is being done to countless lives."

The UN agency added that it has loads of aid trucks ready to enter the area and "scale up the delivery."
Gaza's Health Ministry announced on May 10 that the death toll has jumped to at least 52,810 since October 2023.
"Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescuers unable to reach them," the ministry also added.
