Several dignitaries were in attendance for the in Ahmedabad, including former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty.
Sunak, who had served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024 and was the first British Asian to hold office, posted a selfie along with his spouse at Ahmedabad's 132,000-capacity Narendra Modi Stadium, in which PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field .

Ex-UK PM Sunak explains his support for the Royal Challengers
Sunak had earlier revealed that he would be supporting RCB in the IPL 2025 final, explaining why he supports the franchise that has a fan-base that rivals that of the Chennai Super Kings.
'I'm married into a Bangalore family, so RCB is my team. We went to matches a long time ago and I used to cheer them on in Downing Street,' Sunak told The Times of India.
And the official broadcaster Star Sports spotted Sunak cheering for the Royal Challengers and expressing disappointment at the flurry of wickets in the final over.
RCB posted 190/9 on the board with Kohli top-scoring for his team with a 35-ball 43 and Arshdeep Singh finishing as the pick of the Punjab bowlers with figures of 3/40 – all three wickets coming in a superb final over in which he conceded just three singles.
Neither RCB nor PBKS have lifted the trophy in the past, meaning the IPL is set to crown a first-time champion in Ahmedabad on Tuesday regardless of the result.
