
UAE President, Lebanese PM discuss bilateral relations, region
UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Dr Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of the Lebanese Republic, on Tuesday discussed cooperation between the two countries, as well as ways to enhance ties in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and fulfils the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Mohamed received the Lebanese Prime Minister, who is currently on a working visit to the UAE to participate in the Arab Media Summit 2025 in Dubai.
The two sides reviewed regional and international issues of mutual concern and underlined the importance of strengthening efforts to promote stability, security, and peace in the region for the benefit of its peoples and the advancement of its nations.
Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE's steadfast support for Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as for all efforts that contribute to the country's stability, development, and prosperity.
The Lebanese Prime Minister, for his part, thanked Sheikh Mohamed for his consistent support for the Lebanese people.
He also reaffirmed Lebanon's commitment to strengthening its ties with the UAE across various fields in a way that serves the shared interests of both nations.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President; Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs; Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and several officials.

UAE strengthens economic ties with Lebanon through delegation visit
A UAE delegation has explored economic collaborations with Lebanon during a three-day visit to the country, with the aim to support its economic recovery and future growth. The delegation was joined by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) who assessed potential joint projects, while the UAE's Knowledge Exchange Office was tasked with visiting Beirut to share best practices on government performance and institutional excellence. This follows President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's meeting with Lebanon's President, Joseph Aoun in a working visit to the UAE in May, where the two leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation in economic, investment and government sectors. The delegation met with Aoun, where discussions centred around enhancing bilateral cooperation and supporting Lebanon's economic development efforts. Meetings were also held with Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam and officials from ministries of finance, education, health, public works, telecommunications and interior. The delegation also engaged with several national institutions such as the Central Bank of Lebanon, the Higher Relief Council and the Council for Development and Reconstruction. Site visits to the Port of Beirut, Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, Beirut Governmental Hospital and various public service institutions further underscored the delegation's focus on identifying immediate priorities and potential areas of collaboration.

29 May 2025 15:42 DUBAI (WAM)The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) issued a circular announcing the Eid Al Adha holiday for the year 1446 government entities, departments, and institutions across Dubai will observe a public holiday from Arafat Day, 9th Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH (Thursday, 5th June 2025) until 12th Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH (Sunday, 8th June 2025).Official working hours will resume on Monday, 9th June departments, and institutions with employees working on shift-based schedules or involved in public services or essential facilities management are exempt from the holidays. These entities can set work schedules for the exempt employees based on their specific operational needs to maintain uninterrupted public service delivery.
