Three arrested in 2024 murder at Jacksonville Wendy's restaurant
Jacksonville police responded to a call for a shooting that day at a Wendy's in the 9000 block of New Kings Road. Officers arrived to find the victim, Dave Joseph, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to the hospital where he died days later.

Jacksonville police identified multiple suspects. Police on Tuesday announced the arrests of three men:
Daveron Reed, 29, arrested in late December on an accessory to murder charge.
Leon Williams, 29, arrested in February facing a murder charge.
Riheam Anderson, 29, arrested in April in Waycross, Ga., facing a murder charge.
The day of the shooting, police said it appeared the victim went to the Wendy's to meet one of the suspects when others arrived and began firing shots.
Multiple businesses in the area had to close after the shooting and residents were urged to lockdown in their homes during the initial manhunt for the shooters.

Jacksonville Beach Police arrest two, recover stolen guns and drugs during traffic stop
The City of Jacksonville Beach Police Department announced the arrest of two people after a traffic stop at 5 3rd Street North on August 17. According to the police department, Officer Rich conducted a traffic stop at 5 3rd Street North for a stop violation. During the investigation, officers found: Three firearms, including an AR-style pistol Marijuana and psilocybin (mushrooms) Two of the firearms were confirmed stolen out of Jacksonville more than two years ago Cash The driver and passenger were both arrested. The driver, Xavier F. J. Fountain, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana <20g, and Driving while License Suspended. The passenger, Christian M. Bartley, was charged with Possession of Marijuana <20g. $1B plan to renovate troubled Rice Street Jail approved by Fulton County commissioners
Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a proposal Wednesday to revitalize the troubled Rice Street Jail and create an additional center for special inmate populations. The proposal was approved 4-1-1. As Channel 2 Action News reported Monday, the proposal to renovate the existing jail and build a new special purpose facility will cost over $1 billion. The proposal was championed by Board Chairman Robb Pitts. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The new Special Purpose Building is designed to serve vulnerable populations and offset the future need for outsourcing of inmates to out-of-county jail facilities, according to the proposal. The vote comes amid concerns about the crumbling facility. A report by the Department of Justice last year said the condition of the jail violates the civil rights of the people incarcerated within. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office agreed with the DOJ to a 'court-enforceable' consent order in January. As Channel 2 reported, an investigation into civil rights violations at the Rice Street Jail began in July 2023, in the wake of inmate LaShawn Thompson's death due to 'severe neglect' and an infestation of bed bugs in his cell, as well as multiple other incidents at the facility. Jacksonville mother of 5 missing for 2 days found alive in woods
A Jacksonville woman who disappeared Monday was found alive in the woods Wednesday after a massive rescue effort by police and firefighters. Kayla Bailey was last seen early Monday morning by one of her daughters as she left her home on Maxville Boulevard, her family told Action News Jax. Authorities said she could be in danger, sparking a search that covered the community and nearby wooded areas. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< The Sky Action News Jax drone took video of the dense forest where Bailey was found. First responders described the discovery as a relief after she had gone two days without food, water, or shelter. 'She was found in a wooded area just off a trail,' Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Monts said. 'She was laying on the ground. She was alive and well when rescuers walked up on her.' RELATED: Missing mom of 5 found alive, Jacksonville police say Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department search teams spotted Bailey's feet from UTVs before reaching her. 'Search teams went out on UTVs … They were able to see her feet in the woods … and went and found her,' JFRD Chief Gary Kuehner said. Authorities mapped out the extensive search, which included officers on horseback, on foot, and by boat. Hours after Action News Jax interviewed him, Bailey's husband, Joshua Bailey, was booked into jail on charges of violating probation and a domestic violence-related restraining order. 'The charges that he was arrested for are totally unrelated to the missing person's investigation,' Monts said.
