Body found in search for 21-year old Finn Coyle who has been missing in the Perth hills
A body has been found in the search of a missing 21-year-old man who was last seen leaving his home on foot seven days ago.
Finn Coyle, 21, failed to return after he left his family home on Tanner Rd in Carmel, in the Perth hills, about 2.30pm on Friday.
Dozens of police and SES volunteers joined Mr Coyle's family and friends to scour dense bushland for several days using drones, dogs and horses.
Police confirmed they found a man's body on a Carmel property about 8.30am on Thursday.
A police spokesman said formal identification had not yet taken place, but they believed it was the missing 21-year old man.
'The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner,' a spokesman said.
During the search, a drone played a recorded message from Mr Coyle's mother.
'It's mum here. The police and volunteers are looking for you,' she said in the message.
'You're not in any trouble. If you hear or see the drone, please walk towards it.'
His brother Connor Coyle told media Finn had been struggling with mental health and they were worried about him because it was completely out of character.
'It's entirely unlike him,' he said.
'We're all very worried for his wellbeing and his welfare, he's known to spend a lot of time in the local bush in the hill's area.
'I think he's very resourceful and he's a great young man, but he's suffering a lot of mental health.
'We're losing a generation of young people to mental health.'
Detective Sergeant Brad Robinson said Mr Coyle was a 'resourceful fella' that liked being in the bush and search efforts were concentrated near his home.

Woman jailed for five years over role in Kimberley meth trafficking ring
The final member of a drug trafficking ring caught transporting methylamphetamine on a remote highway in WA's Kimberley has been jailed for five years. Merlou Abais Ruiz, 47, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply it. Ruiz received the five-year sentence in the Perth District Court on Thursday. Detectives charged Ruiz in 2022 as part of Operation Beaufortia, a major offensive by WA police to crack down on the supply of drugs in the Kimberley region. All three of her co-accused have already been sentenced for their part in the drug operation. Gary Troy McIntosh and Mark Richard Shadforth were sentenced to five years and six months and five years and eight months, respectively, in October 2024. Trent Bin Omar was sentenced to five years and nine months in December 2024 for his role in the operation. As part of the police operation, detectives intercepted Shadforth's calls in July 2022, leading authorities to intercept the group's car on the Great Northern Highway near Broome. Ruiz was initially released without charge until she was again intercepted three months later, on October 13, carrying 10.58 grams of methylamphetamine. Judge Gary Massey told the court he was "prepared to accept" Ruiz had "very much played a lesser role" in the offending, primarily driven by her own addiction to the drug. Judge Massey described his consideration for Ruiz's personal circumstances, including her unstable childhood, with emotional and physical abuse, neglect and poor attachments to her parents. However, the District Court Judge said there was a "significant need for general deterrence" given the harm caused by meth in the state's north. "Small towns in the Kimberley have been very much affected by methylamphetamine reaching the streets in those communities," Judge Massey said. "Those who seek to profit from that misery can expect to receive significant terms of imprisonment … to stop others from offending in this way. "You chose to possess methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply to others on separate occasions." The 47-year-old's sentence was backdated to December 2022 to account for the time Ruiz had already spent in custody. She will be eligible for parole on December 31 this year.

Jewellery store ram raided by alleged thieves who smashed their car through shopping centre
Watches and jewellery have allegedly been stolen from a store after a car ploughed through the glass doors of a shopping centre. Police allege a man jumped out of a black Citroen and broke into a jewellery store at the Gladstone Centre Plaza in Qld about 2am on Friday. Footage of the alleged incident shows the car drive onto a footpath outside the centre then smash through the doors to gain entry. Vision from inside the jewellery store shows the car ram the security roller door which buckles, before a person makes their way inside. Watches and other items were allegedly taken before they fled in the car. Police are appealing for information about the break and enter and have asked anyone with vision or information to contact police. Investigations continue.

Adelaide father Gaurav Kundi dies after attempted police arrest
Footage has been released of a police attempting to arrest an Adelaide man who later died in hospital after the incident. Gaurav Kundi, 42, was involved in an incident with police on May 29, and early Friday his life support system was switched off. Mr Kundi leaves behind two children and a wife. In the footage obtained by 9News a woman can be heard screaming as Mr Kundi is held on the ground by officers. Mr Kundi's wife, Amritpal Kaur, filmed portions of the arrest, alleging an officer put a knee into her husband's neck after she had stopped filming. In a statement on Friday, South Australian Police said officers did not force a knee onto Mr Kundi's neck during the arrest. 'The senior investigating officer conducting the (police) Commissioner's inquiry has reviewed body worn vision and it has been confirmed that at no time was a knee applied to Mr Kundi's neck,' the statement reads. 'His head was not forced into the car or roadway at any point. However, the use of restraints during this incident will be closely examined during the Commissioner's inquiry.' Investigations and inquiries into the incident will have 'several layers of independent oversight', police say. The footage shows a standing Mr Kundi being restrained by two officers. One officer uses their own foot to trip or push Mr Kundi to the ground; Mr Kundi then falls on the bitumen. His wife told Channel 9 she panicked and stopped filming, and alleges an officer put a knee into her husband's neck after she had stopped filming. Mr Kundi became unresponsive some time after he was taken to the ground by the officers. Ms Kaur told Channel 9 her husband was drunk, and they had a minor altercation on the roadside before police arrived. Police arrived at the incident at Payneham Road, in the suburb of Royston Park, about 2.45am on May 29. Mr Kundi 'became unresponsive' as he was arrested, police said at the time. Paramedics took him to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. He died in hospital in the early hours of Friday, June 13. Police are investigating the incident as a death in custody. 'Major Crime Investigation Branch will continue to investigate the cause and circumstances of his death and prepare a report for the state coroner,' a police spokesperson said on Friday. 'The investigation and inquiries of this incident will have several layers of independent oversight, including the Director of Public Prosecution, Office of Public Integrity and the State Coroner.' South Australian Police have also been providing updates directly to the Indian consulate. The largest English-language Indian news outlets have been covering Mr Kundi's death closely. South Australian senator, Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong, made assurances to Australia's Indian community, but would not comment until investigations were concluded.
