41 Horribly Entitled Main Characters From Last Month

Really??? In a hospital??? You're not the main character in a sitcom, lady! Imagine needing attention this badly. (He's doing bicep curls, if you couldn't tell.) "Everyone look at me!!!!" This daughter can't stand a second of not being spoiled. I cannot stand people who use speakerphone in public. I swear, some people have no common decency. How much do you want to bet this tourist was American? I highly doubt this person actually gives out these $100 bills. People who do nice things tend not to post photos flaunting their guns and wealth with a caption CLAIMING to do nice things. If someone drops off their weights on this guy's phone and cracks it, then honestly, he deserves it. If you can't get a sitter, maybe don't go to the movies. Do people need classes to learn movie theater etiquette now? There's literally a reminder before every movie. ...Cool. No one cares. I hate people like this at the gym. It takes thirty seconds to be a good person! This is just a delusional level of entitlement. As is this. I feel like this person's parents never taught them how birthdays work. It's not a time when a bunch of near-strangers give you gift cards? She couldn't have taken this call somewhere else? Imagine being a full-grown woman and thinking your daughter is "stealing" your birthday weekend." Grow up. I get that loud noises are to be expected on July 4, but I'm willing to bet these neighbors didn't take proper safety precautions when they decided to BLOW UP A REFRIGERATOR for their own amusement. Why do people feel the need to deface nature? A free YEAR of food??? In what world did this person think that was going to happen? "But I already told my mom." How old are we? It's kind of wild to me how many people just expect wildly expensive things for free these days. Cool, I'm sure this isn't blocking the way for anyone else. Is this person Ransom from Knives Out? Same with this awful person. This would be the last time I spoke to said uncle. Newsflash: if you're late to class, the business has every right to refuse you entry. Some of these are reasonable, and then some are, like, a sound system and a smoke machine. Seriously, why do people do this? People need to realize that the point of a job is, in fact, to make money. (Also, $500 for that many rooms???? Can I hire this person?) Do people not realize they're blocking someone's driveway, or do they just not care? Yeah, that's not how that works. You can't just decide that property is yours, actually, and restrict the actual owners from using it. In what world is this okay??? Some neighbors really don't care about anyone but themselves. I've made up my mind — people suck. Don't be this person. And finally, this is just rude.

Dem governor defies FBI: 'Unwelcome' to pursue Texas Democratic lawmakers

Democratic Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said Wednesday that the FBI would be "unwelcome" to pursue Texas lawmakers who fled to his home state to stall a redistricting vote. In an interview with "News Not Noise with Jessica Yellin," Pritzker argued that the Texas lawmakers had not broken any federal law, and, therefore, the FBI doesn't have jurisdiction. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, disagreed, sending a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel earlier this week asking the bureau to help locate or arrest "potential lawbreakers" who fled Texas in a maneuver to avoid legislative responsibilities "in violation of their oath of office." "They're grandstanding. There's literally no federal law applicable to this situation. None," Pritzker told the podcaster on Wednesday. "They can say that they're sending FBI. FBI agents might show up to, I don't know, put a show on. But the fact is, our local law enforcement protects everybody in the state in Illinois. Our state troopers protect anybody in Illinois, and anybody who's here in Illinois. And so, whether it's federal agents coming to Illinois or state rangers from Texas, if you haven't broken federal law, you're basically unwelcome, and there's no way that our state legislators here, Texas state legislators, can be arrested." Pritzker categorized Cornyn's plea as political theater, noting that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is challenging his U.S. Senate seat. The Illinois governor also took swipes at President Donald Trump and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. "We follow the law," Pritzker said. "But as you know, Donald Trump does not follow the law. Indeed, he's a convicted felon. And in Texas, they are also not following the law. They are thwarting the Constitution with the Voting Rights Act and making threats that they can't carry out. John Cornyn, of course, is running against Ken Paxton, for his seat in the U.S. Senate, and so they're fighting, bickering over who can be tougher on this topic. But the fact is, I think they're demonstrating as a result of that bickering, and Abbott has weighed in as well, that this really is all about politics." Abbott convened a special session to try to advance a congressional redistricting plan which could add five new Republican-leaning House seats before the midterms next year. Trump is pushing Republican states to open the process for redistricting mid-cycle to give the GOP a better chance of maintaining control of the House in the 2026 midterm elections. In Texas, more than 50 Democratic lawmakers fled the state earlier this month to prevent a necessary quorum in the Texas House, which requires at least 100 members of the 150-member body to be present. Pritzker and fellow Democrats, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, offered sanctuary to those Texas Democrats, applauding the gridlock as a fight to save democracy. Both Newsom and Hochul vowed to "fight fire with fire." Meanwhile, Texas state Republicans voted to issue civil arrest warrants and $500 daily fines for Democratic colleagues who abandoned their duties. Trump told reporters on Tuesday that the FBI "may have to" intervene. In a phone interview on CNBC's "The Squawk Box" on Tuesday, Trump argued that Democratic states, including Massachusetts, California and Illinois, have already pushed redistricting to benefit their own party, so Republicans will do the same. "In Illinois, where you have probably the dumbest of all governors, Illinois. That guy's really sending – I mean, the business is flowing out of his state. It's terrible. It's a terrible thing that Pritzker is doing. He's you know, he was the black sheep of the family. They threw him out of the business," Trump said. "But in Illinois, what's happened is, is terrible what they're doing – You notice they go to Illinois for safety. But that's all gerrymandered." "California's gerrymandered," the president continued. "We should have many more seats in Congress in California. It's all gerrymandered. And we have an opportunity in Texas to pick up five seats. We have a really good governor, and we have good people in Texas. And I won Texas. I got the highest vote in the history of Texas, as you probably know. And, we are entitled to five more seats."

Mexican authorities accuse Adidas of cultural appropriation over shoe design

Mexican officials in the southern Oaxaca state have accused sportswear brand Adidas of cultural appropriation over a shoe design reminiscent of a traditional Mexican sandal. The black leather 'Oaxaca Slip-On', inspired by the classic huaraches, is expected to be released as part of a broader collaboration between Adidas Originals and American designer Willy Chavarria. Chavarria, who has Mexican heritage, first unveiled his design during an Adidas panel in Puerto Rico on Monday. He said his collaboration with the German brand is an ode to Chicano culture. 'It makes me very proud to be working with a company that really respects and uplifts culture in the most real way,' Chavarria told Sneaker News. But in Mexico, the 'Oaxaca Slip-On' was met with outrage. Oaxaca Governor Salomon Jara accused Adidas of 'copying traditional huaraches without asking permission or giving credit to their true creators' in the Villa Hidalgo Yalalag community. Huaraches are not just a design but are linked to 'the culture, history, and identity of the indigenous Zapotec people,' he said in a video message posted on X on Wednesday. Oaxaca has one of the highest Indigenous populations in the country. The state's Ministry of Cultures and Arts asked Adidas to suspend the sandals' sale, publicly acknowledge their origins and begin a process of 'dialogue and redress of grievances' with the Yalalag community. 'The culture of indigenous peoples and communities is not a resource that can be exploited without respect or reciprocity,' the ministry said in a statement. Jara also threatened to take legal action against Adidas and Chavarria. In recent years, Mexico has repeatedly pushed back against international fashion brands, including Zara and Shein, for designs it deemed too close to traditional patterns. The country passed a federal law in 2022 to protect Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples' intellectual and cultural property. Unauthorised use of Indigenous cultural expressions is now punished with fines and prison sentences. Adidas and its designer have not yet responded to the controversy. The company has come under fire in the past for similar reasons. In 2022, Morocco's culture ministry had accused Adidas of appropriating Moroccan culture in its new jerseys for Algeria's football team. The brand first denied the claim before acknowledging its design was inspired from the Moroccan zellige mosaics pattern. Solve the daily Crossword
