Will Caitlin Clark play for Indiana Fever against Chicago Sky, 6/7/25? Prediction, TV, injuries

Will Caitlin Clark play for Indiana Fever against Chicago Sky, 6/7/25? Prediction, TV, injuries

The Indiana Fever try to string together consecutive victories when they visit the Chicago Sky on Saturday, June 7.
Indiana (3-4) have been adjusting to life without the injured Caitlin Clark. The Fever used a hardship exception to add veteran guard Aari McDonald, who helped them snap a three-game losing streak by defeating the Washington Mystics.
The Sky (2-4) started the season with four losses but have beaten the Dallas Wings twice in the past week plus. Several players have led Chicago in scoring, but Angel Reese has led in rebounding every game and Courtney Vandersloot in assists over the past three.
These teams met in the season opener in Indianapolis, with the Fever winning 93-58. Clark had a triple-double in that game, which featured a dust-up between her and Reese.

Chloe Peterson, IndyStar: Fever 76-72
"Caitlin Clark is progressing well in her recovery from a quad strain, but not enough that she'll be available. And that is what could make this game a close one.
"Clark had a triple-double en route to the Fever's 35-point win over the Sky in the season-opener on May 17, and Indiana looked like early contenders. Then, the Fever hit a bump in the road. Chicago started the season 0-4 before two straight wins in a home-and-home over the Dallas Wings.
"I still think that, even without Clark, Indiana can leave United Center with a win. They seemed to start putting things together against the Mystics on Tuesday, finding some of their transition offense again with the help of Aari McDonald, who is with the Fever temporarily on a hardship contract.
"Adding onto that, Sky center Kamilla Cardoso is day-to-day with a shoulder injury. If she's limited, that could hurt the Sky immensely."
Fever: Caitlin Clark (quad) is out. Sophie Cunningham (knee) is questionable.
Sky: Kamilla Cardoso (shoulder) is questionable.
In four games this season, Caitlin Clark averaged 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals, making 31.4% of her 3-pointers.

Keep an eye out for this former West Virginia high school player in the NBA Finals

OKLAHOMA CITY (WBOY) — If you tuned in to Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals on Thursday night, you may have seen Indiana Pacer Thomas Bryant on the hardwood, a player who spent the formative years of his career right here in West Virginia. Bryant was born in Rochester, New York, but he spent most of his high school career at Huntington Prep School, where he averaged 17.3 points per game in his senior campaign with the Irish, ending with a 29-3 record, according to MaxPreps. Bryant was recruited out of high school in 2015 by Indiana University and spent two seasons with the Hoosiers, starting 69 games and ending with a 45-24 record, according to College Basketball Reference. That 2015 Hoosier squad also made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament, but lost to North Carolina. Following his sophomore season, Bryant entered his name into the 2017 NBA Draft, where he was selected in the second round (42nd overall) by the Utah Jazz, according to Basketball Reference. He never made his debut for the Jazz, nor did he spend that long with the team, as he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers on that same day for Tony Bradley. The center officially began his NBA career for the Lakers on Dec. 23, 2017, in a loss to Portland. WVU Baseball vs. No. 6 LSU: How to watch Following the 2017–18 season, Bryant was traded around the league, spending stints with Washington, Miami and Denver, which won the NBA Finals in 2023 with Bryant on the roster. He was traded from Miami to the Indiana Pacers in December 2024 and has been a significant contributor from the Indiana bench behind starting center Myles Turner. Bryant made eight regular-season starts since being traded to the Pacers, and he put up a 39-17 record during Indiana's march to the NBA Playoffs. As of Friday, Bryant has played in 15 of the Pacers' 17 playoff games. During Game 1 against Oklahoma City on Thursday, Bryant only saw the court for eight minutes, but he shot the ball perfectly, going 2-2 on his field goal attempts and making his one three-pointer in the win for Indiana, per ESPN. Fever star Caitlin Clark to miss at least 2 weeks with a left quad strain

One of the best and most exciting players in the WNBA is looking at a two-week absence at minimum. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is expected to miss multiple weeks due to a left quad strain, the team announced Monday. The Fever released a brief statement announcing the news: "Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has suffered a left quadriceps strain and will be out a minimum of two weeks, the team announced today. Further updates will be provided, as available, following re-evaluation." Advertisement The team did not provide additional details, including when Clark sustained the injury. It's reportedly a new injury for Clark, who also dealt with a left quad strain in the preseason. Clark missed the team's preseason opener due to that injury before returning for the Fever's second preseason game. Clark played 37 minutes in the team's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday. She posted her usual numbers in the loss, scoring 18 points and dishing out 10 assists. 'I don't know when it happened,' Fever coach Stephanie White said, via the Indianapolis Star. 'I know [after the Liberty game] we got a message that something was going on with her leg and they were getting an MRI, and then we got the word.' Clark will miss at least four games while recovering from the injury. If she's available to play after exactly two weeks, Clark could be cleared to face the Atlanta Dream on June 10. That's the earliest possible timetable for Clark's return. She could miss additional time after being re-evaluated by the team. Advertisement After being selected by the Fever with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark established herself as a future superstar. She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds in her first taste of the WNBA. That performance earned her the Rookie of the Year award, an All-Star appearance and a top-four finish in MVP voting. Clark was poised for even better things in her second season. Through four games, she was putting up similar numbers to her rookie year, averaging 19 points, 9.3 assists and 6 rebounds. 'When you think about Caitlin and her not wanting to miss games, she's obviously a competitor and wants to play, obviously everyone wants to watch her play, you know?' White said. 'But for me, it's maintaining perspective, right? It's making sure that we address this in a way that doesn't affect long term, that we take care of it. Don't over push, don't over exert, making sure that we take the long-game approach to this, so that we're not having lingering issues throughout the course of the season. Sometimes great players don't tell you when they're hurting. I'm glad that she did, because we need to nip this in the bud.' With Clark sidelined, the Fever will rely more heavily on Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell to carry a bigger scoring load. Boston ranks second on the team — behind Clark — with 18.5 points per game. Mitchell is third on the team with 17.8 points per game. The Fever (2-2) will play their first game without Clark on Wednesday, when they travel to take on the Washington Mystics.

Caitlin Clark Sends Clear Message Before Chicago Sky Game

Caitlin Clark Sends Clear Message Before Chicago Sky Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever's star player, Caitlin Clark, has been out for almost two weeks. But although she hasn't been able to play games during this time, she still finds ways to support her team off the court. Advertisement The Iowa alum sustained a left quadriceps strain during a game against the New York Liberty on May 24. The team announced on May 26 that she would be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks, with her status to be re-evaluated thereafter. So far, Clark has missed three consecutive games, including the Fever's recent 85–75 victory over the Washington Mystics in the Commissioner's Cup. While the team has managed to secure a win without her, her absence has been felt. Reports indicate a significant drop in betting interest on Fever games, highlighting her impact on fan engagement. Despite not playing on the court, the 23-year-old athlete has remained actively involved with the team during her recovery, providing vocal support from the sidelines and maintaining a leadership presence. Advertisement "You still got to be that consistent voice when sitting on the bench. I try to do that as much as I can for them," Clark said. "Just trying to be there for them has been my focus, and that can kinda distracts you from not playing, when you just focus on your teammates and how I can serve them and help them." She also confirmed that her injury happened during the game against the Liberty, but couldn't pinpoint when it happened. Before her injury, Clark was averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game over four games in the 2025 WNBA season. She is expected to miss the upcoming game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday, with a potential return targeted for Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream.
