Record number of pilgrims had darshan on May 31
Tirumala: In a record of its sorts in the last one decade, TTD has provided comfortable and hassle free darshan for 95,080 devotees on Sunday.
The hill temple has been witnessing the swarm of pilgrims especially since mid of May. With day and night efforts of various TTD departments, darshan was provided to record number of devotees even on Thursdays and Fridays in the second half of May.
As per the instructions of TTD higher authorities and under continuous monitoring of the heads of various departments, distribution of Annaprasdam, water, milk have been carried out with the help of Srivari Sevaks and security wing.
When compared to May 2024, this year more than 55,000 devotees had darshan additionally, taking the total figure to 23,79,252 as against 23,23,493 during last year. The total number of devotees, who have darshan crossed 95,000 mark on Sunday, May 31.
Similarly, Annaprasadam servings have set a new record with highest servings ever, taking the figure to 1.33 crore in May 2025 as against 71 lakhs in 2024.
While the numbers of tonsures stood and number of laddus being sold this May also topped against the figures of May last.

Govindaraja Swamy rides atop a lion in Tirupati
Lord Govindaraja took out a majestic ride on a lion in the morning and was paraded on a pearl-studded canopy in the evening, here on Wednesday, as part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams. On the third day of the nine-day annual festival, the processional idol was mounted on 'Simha Vahanam', a celestial carrier resembling a lion and carried on the four streets encircling the temple. A celebration marking RCB's (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) much-awaited IPL victory after 18 long years took a tragic turn as stampedes broke out outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and Vidhana Souda, with at least 11 people feared dead. Thousands of people gathered to celebrate RCB and witness the felicitation ceremony of the team, held by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). However, the celebration soon turned ghastly. Two people died on the premises of the Vidhana Soudha, where the RCB squad proceeded from the airport to meet with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. At least nine others died outside the stadium. Hathras Satsang, July 2024 In Uttar Pradesh's Hathras, a gathering of people at the satsang of Narayan Sakar Hari, popularly called 'Bhole Baba', turned chaotic, leading to the death of 121 people. The organisers of the satsang reportedly sought permission for a gathering of 80,000 people. However, over 2.5 lakh people turned up.

TTD Announces Temporary Shift of Divya Darshan Token Counters
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a significant change for devotees seeking the Tirumala Venkanna Darshan. In a recent decision, TTD will temporarily relocate the Divya Darshan token issuance counters from Srivarimettu to the Bhudevi Complex in Alipiri. This new arrangement will take effect from Friday evening. TTD Executive Officer, Sri J. Shyamala Rao, conducted a virtual review meeting with TTD officials on Tuesday evening to discuss the changes. Traditionally, Divya Darshan tokens for pilgrims undertaking the Srivari Mettu route on foot have been issued at Srivarimettu. However, under the new directive, dedicated counters at the Alipiri Bhudevi Complex will handle token distribution for these devotees. The issuance process will begin on Friday evening, 6th of the month, and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. Devotees are required to present their Aadhaar identification to obtain the Divya Darshan tokens, which will then need to be scanned at the 1200th step of Srivari Mettu. Tokens issued on Friday evening will be valid for the following day's darshan. Additionally, the TTD has confirmed that Special Darshan (SSD) tokens will also be available at the Alipiri Bhudevi Complex counters. In light of the expected influx of devotees, the Executive Officer has instructed TTD Vigilance, Security, and local District Police to coordinate measures to ensure safety and manage traffic effectively. A team of officers will be designated to oversee the smooth token issuance process at the new location, ensuring a hassle-free environment for all devotees. To facilitate the transition, TTD will actively publicise the temporary shift of the token counters. Engineering officers have been tasked with creating efficient queue lines for the convenience of pilgrims, while department heads have been urged to maintain high standards of food offerings and cleanliness. The services of Srivari Sevakula volunteers will also be leveraged to assist during this period.
