However, for one woman, Kimia Ahwazi, the journey to a more natural appearance went horribly wrong after she got her lip filler dissolved.
Taking it to TikTok, the young dark-haired beauty shared a series of selfies after the procedure - which, she joked, caused her lips to ''explode''.
Following the treatment, Kimia, thought to be from the Netherlands, noticed significant swelling - which is a normal side effect.
This is because when filler is injected or dissolved, the body reacts to the minor trauma by releasing white blood cells, which causes inflammation and swelling, warned the experts at Karidis Clinic.
''The lips are particularly susceptible because there are so many blood vessels.
''Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are also more prone to swelling as they act as humectants, attracting 1,000 times their weight in moisture,'' they explained.
However, nothing could prepare the Dutch beauty for what was to come, as mortified Kimia said it kept ''getting worse''.
''Was literally about to explode,'' Kimia said in the now-viral video, where her pout had ballooned up around three to four times its normal size.
Horrified by what she was seeing in the camera, the beauty buff said she even considered taking drastic measures and was ''about to sue someone''.
Checking out her reflection, Kamia, who posts under the username @kimiaahwazi, even went was far as comparing herself to ''Marge Simpson''.
I'm so obsessed with filler that my huge lips touch my nose - trolls can't understand what I'm saying, but I don't care
Despite the jaw-dropping results, Kamia tried to cheer herself up by ''overlining them for the vibes'' - and bizarrely confessed she even ''started to like the plump''.
'Quack if you need help'
Since being posted online, the clip has taken the internet by storm, winning the beauty buff a whopping 3.1million views, over 95k likes and 11k shares.
What are the risks of lip fillers?
THE RISKS of dermal fillers depend on whether the procedure was done correctly and the type of filler used.
The NHS recommends you speak to your practitioner about the risks beforehand.
Serious problems are rare but can include: Infection
A lumpy appearance under the skin, which might need to be treated with surgery or medicine
The filler moving away from the intended treatment area, which may need to be removed using surgery
Scarring
Blocked blood vessels in the face, which can cause tissue death and permanent blindness
You should see your GP if you have any complications that need medical attention and speak to your practitioner if you're not happy with the results or experience lumpiness.

Close to an astronomical 800 people flooded to comments, many totally gobsmacked.
One person wished her a speedy recovery - whilst also comparing her to a famous Monsters Inc character, Fungus.
''Not to be rude but.. Know that scream extractor scene in Monsters Inc? Yeah.. Hope you're doing better.''
Another joked, writing sarcastically: ''Amazing! Very natural effect, I hope this is what you were looking for.''
Meanwhile, someone else thought she belonged in the gang of iconic childhood dolls.
''It's giving Bratz.''

The murky history behind the eerie abandoned zoological park inside Disney World
Walt Disney World is known for its magic, meticulous upkeep, and the illusion that nothing is ever truly out of place. But hidden in plain sight, just across the water from Magic Kingdom, is a part of Disney that seems to be forgotten. Discovery Island, once a bustling zoological park, now sits abandoned and off-limits, its decaying remains slowly being overtaken by nature. With a murky history, eerie silence, and strict no-trespassing rules, the 11.5-acre island has become a rare glimpse into the side of Disney most guests never see. Originally opened in 1974 as Treasure Island, the location was designed as a tranquil wildlife sanctuary, home to exotic birds, tortoises, lemurs, and more. The theme was based off the 1950 pirate film of the same name, with a fake wrecked ship placed in the center of the island. In 1977, it was renamed Discovery Island to better reflect its focus on conservation and animal observation. Guests could stroll along winding paths, explore themed habitats like Flamingo Lagoon and Tortoise Beach, and learn about rare and endangered species in a serene, natural setting. However, in 1989, reports of horrifying animal 'abuse' began to circulate. Investigators said workers at Discovery Island allegedly fired a rifle at hawks, beat vultures to death with a stick, and destroyed the nests and eggs of egrets and ibises, per UPI. The park was charged with 16 counts of animal cruelty, but the charges were later dropped, according to The Ledger. As Disney continued to expand and create more enticing rides, the ticket numbers dwindled for the wildlife island. Then, in April 1998, Animal Kingdom Park was opened and people were stirred towards the new attractions, causing Discovery Island to be left behind. The island was closed in 1999 and all of the animals were moved to either Animal Kingdom or other zoos across the United States, per The Travel. For the last 26 years, Discovery Island has been completely abandoned and tightly secured. Disney has made it clear: no guests are allowed. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Justin Does Disney (@justindoesdisney) Signs around the surrounding waters warn boaters and would-be explorers to stay away. Anyone who dares to step foot on the island can face serious consequences including being arrested for trespassing and banned from all Disney properties for life. In 2020, a man named Richard McGuire was arrested after illegally camping on the island for several days during the pandemic. He later told police he thought it was a 'tropical paradise' and didn't realize he was trespassing, per TIME.

After taking a trip to her local Primark, Sophie nabbed all things from a matching blue co-ord and an orange swimsuit, to a black mini dress and a beach cover-up. But it was Primark's new Gingham Capri Pants that left her particularly impressed. Posting online, Sophie showed off her new fashion finds and styled her new £14 capri pants with the matching £12 top. She accessorised the outfit with a pair of gold heels and a gold bag, as well as a pair of stylish sunglasses. Alongside her short clip, the high-street shopper, who is 'addicted to fashion', wrote: 'Am I trying to be Gretchen Wieners making fetch happen with a capri pant or do they need to be returned?' The capri pants, which are decorated with an all-over gingham print, are sure to turn heads this season. According to Primark bosses, shoppers will 'level up' their new season rotation and 'embrace warm weather days in style with these must-have capri pants'. The iconic trousers, which first gained popularity in the 1950s and 60s, saw a major resurgence in the late 90s and early 2000s, feature a summer-ready gingham print that instantly draws the eye. They are cut to a cropped length that's 'perfect for sun-soaked moments' and the soft fabric has a handy stretch to it. 'I need it all ASAP!' fashion fans gasp as Primark prepares to drop new summer range, including a 'beach bag of dreams' As a result, those at Primark have described these pants as a 'comfortable option that's perfect for everyday wear.' Not only this, but Primark bosses have also claimed that the cropped design 'adds to their cool and casual appeal'. Why Primark is great for looking expensive on a budget By Clemmie Feildsend, Fabulous Fashion Editor AS someone who's no stranger to grabbing a last-minute outfit from Primark for a night out, it's about time that celebrities started catching on too. For as long as I've been heading out, Primark has been my go-to for those 'I have nothing to wear' moments, rushing in at the last minute to find something perfect. And I'm definitely not alone - on any Friday or Saturday night, you'll find plenty of shoppers doing the same thing, right before closing time. But no matter what, Primark always delivers. Now, Rita Ora is leading the charge, showing that you can snag a designer-worthy look without spending a fortune at high-end stores. While Rita's not rushing in last minute for a red carpet outfit, she's proving you can achieve the same high-impact style for much less. Looking stunning in her tailored suit alongside her mum Vera, Rita fit right in among the other A-listers dripping in Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham - if anything, she looked even better than some of the guests at The Fashion Awards. With Myleene Klass and Roxy Horner already jumping on the Primark bandwagon, I'm sure more stars will be following suit soon enough. And that's not all, as these pants also feature a 'flattering slim fit that smoothes effortlessly over your figure.' Many will be pleased to know that sizes range from a 6 to a size 20 and these capri pants are now available to order on the website's new Click & Collect feature. Fashion fans react The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @sostylishsoph, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 156,000 views. Not only this, but it's also amassed 4,006 likes, 42 comments and 586 saves too.
