Dressed in the dark? Controversial influencer dons Gen Z 'maximalist' trend at Australian Fashion Week with two dresses layered on top of each other - after showing up in wedding gown held up by four assistants

Daily Mail13-05-2025

Jamie Azzopardi never misses the opportunity to stand out at Australian Fashion Week.
The controversial influencer, 27, sported not one, but two different dresses layered over each other at the second day of the A-list event.
Azzopardi, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, draped a golden satin gown over a long sleeved white shirt for the unusual look.
On top of that, Jamie added another satin dress, this time in pearl white and with a feathered bodice.
Not skimping on accessories, Jamie had on pearl details at the cuffs and neckline of the shirt, as well as white heels and sunglasses, while carrying a feathered purse.
Later that evening, Jamie was back for more shows in an entirely new look - a 1920s style tasselled frock in a chic dark brown with matching high heels.
The internet star's look exemplifies the 'maximalist' trend popular with Gen Z fashionistas, particularly on TikTok, which involves layering lots of mismatched items and accessories at once for a deliberate 'dressed in the dark' look.
Jamie made a much anticipated return to Australian Fashion week on Monday.
The star has once again become the talk of the town after making a typically grand entrance at the 2025 event in Sydney on Monday.
The social media sensation wore a bold white gown which resembled a wedding dress - and had four assistants in tow.
The women held up Azzopardi's voluminous frock which featured a long, flowing train.
Azzopardi recruited four minders to hold up the elaborate frock which featured a ruffled neckline and sheer panels with pearl details.
The dress was belted at the waist and also featured layers of tulle around a beaded bodice.
Jamie wore a pair of sunglasses which had matching pearls and included a long pair of black boots.
It comes after Azzopardi arrived at Australian Fashion Week last year in an elaborate Edwardian-style outfit - before hitting back at their critics.
Azzopardi made an outrageous arrival at Carriageworks in Sydney flanked by an entourage of minders, to which Married At First Sight star Carolina Santos couldn't resist commenting on social media.
'What the f*** is that? Does Jamie think [they] are at the Met Gala or something? Why are people holding [their] clothes?' she said at the time.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Mail Australia at the event last year, Jamie clapped back at Carolina's comment.
'Carolina, I do have a question because you have a lot to say about me: I just want to know, what do you know about the Met Gala?'
Jamie turned plenty of heads with their outfit, which consisted of a baby blue ruffled coat with a deep, plunging neckline.
The stylist paired the statement garment with a long black skirt and towering high heels.
Eyewitnesses described Azzopardi's arrival at Fashion Week 2024 as nothing short of a performance.
Dressed in a detailed gown which featured layers of fine fabric and intricate embellishments, the stylist made sure all eyes were on them.
Azzopardi's 'minders' were seen constantly adjusting every detail of their attire.
They were busy ensuring that not a single fold was out of place as photographers snapped away while Jamie posed up a storm.
Australian Fashion Week has gone from one of the country's most prestigious events to one flanked by reality stars, wannabes and micro-influencers.
Industry insiders have told Daily Mail Australia last year that designers are taking caution and want nothing to do with 'fame hungry MAFS stars desperate to be seen at fashion week'.

The stunning reason Hugh Jackman delayed announcing his sporting partnership with Ryan Reynolds

Hollywood superstars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have officially joined forces as co-owners of Australia's SailGP team, the BONDS Flying Roos, but it turns out the partnership has been in the works for months. The announcement was finally unveiled this week - but not without months of behind-the-scenes tension. Plans to announce the partnership were originally scheduled for January 2025. However, the reveal was postponed as Jackman's personal life unravelled in the public eye. In May 2025, Jackman's ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, filed for divorce in New York. The filing followed a September 2023 separation, ending a 27-year marriage that began in April 1996. Soon after, Furness issued a searing public statement referring to a 'traumatic journey of betrayal' and a 'profound wound.' Her comments reportedly blindsided Jackman, who had expected a more discreet resolution. The couple's split came amid speculation about Jackman's new relationship with Broadway co-star Sutton Foster. Their romance became public in January 2025, further fuelling headlines and public interest. Furness later claimed she felt betrayed, especially after Foster had tried to befriend her during the marriage. The emotional fallout and media frenzy put Jackman's professional ventures on pause. The planned January announcement of his sports ownership with Reynolds was shelved due to the controversy. Backers of the Australian SailGP team had hoped the noise would die down. But as the headlines persisted, they opted to go ahead with the launch regardless - despite it becoming the worst possible timing. Jackman and Reynolds are now officially the faces behind the rebranded BONDS Flying Roos. Reynolds and Jackman released a cheeky joint statement filled with their trademark wit. 'We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure,' they wrote. 'Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country as well as being an avid fan of sailing.' 'He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride.' 'Apologies in advance to Australia. No comment on whether we're writing this in our BONDS. No further questions.' The announcement comes as Wrexham, Reynolds' football club, prepares for a pre-season tour of Australia. It also adds another chapter to Reynolds' growing portfolio, which includes Aviation Gin and a stake in Alpine Formula One. Meanwhile, SailGP's Australian crew, led by Tom Slingsby, are leading the current championship with 39 points. Slingsby, who is also a co-owner and driver, welcomed Jackman and Reynolds with enthusiasm. 'This is an incredible milestone for us and for our sport,' Slingsby said. 'They bring unmatched star power, a love for storytelling, and a sharp sense of humour.' 'With BONDS joining as our Title Partner and the launch of the BONDS Flying Roos, we're building something distinctly Australian.' BONDS, now launched in the US with help from Robert Irwin, also sees the partnership as a defining moment. Tanya Deans, president of BONDS, called Jackman 'Australian royalty' in her statement. 'We're thrilled to join forces with such an iconic duo,' she said. 'And how do you say no to Hugh Jackman?' 'As we set sail on this new adventure, the BONDS Flying Roos have one less thing to worry about.' 'We've got their backs - and bums - covered.' The team's official rebranded debut will take place at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix.

'There is so much self blame and guilt associated with miscarriage. I often blamed my body and felt like I was letting us down.' Following their struggle to have another baby, Melina and Jonathan turned to IVF in 2024 and were overjoyed to welcome Clover as a result. 'I think it's important to talk about the topic and the reality of trying to grow a family. It's not always easy. Fertility issues can affect anyone,' Melina added. I'm due end of May and I'm done putting my life on hold so this will be it.' Melina also told the publication she would be delivering the baby via C-section. EXCLUSIVE The suite life of Anna and Tim Robards! Bachelor couple reveal shock news they are leaving Sydney and their very unique new living arrangements

The Robards are on the move! Anna Robards exclusively revealed to Daily Mail Australia that she and her husband Tim are leaving Sydney and moving their young family to the Gold Coast next week. The couple share daughters Elle, four, and Ruby, one, and met and fell in love on The Bachelor back in 2013 and have called Sydney their home ever since. She said the happy family purchased a residence at lavish hotel Mondrian in Burleigh Heads and will be settling in there on Monday. 'We're heading up to the Gold Coast. We brought a property up there called the Mondrian. They've got different hotels around the world,' she said. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'We brought a property there around four years ago and it's only just settling now. So we're actually going to be moving up there.' 'Everything is happening this week. We're moving up there on Monday. I'm staying for a day and then I'll be coming back [to Sydney],' Anna added. 'We wanted a bit of a change. We don't know how long we'll be there. We're still going to keep our place here [in Sydney]. 'So we will be back and forth a lot for work. We just thought it would be really nice to get away from Sydney winter for a little bit. 'My business partner lives up there too. I've never lived overseas. We've never done anything like this as a family, or even individually.' The Mondrian residences are described as 'coastal luxury' with restaurants, bars and a pool club sitting on the ground floor on the shore of Burleigh Heads. Spa and wellness treatments are also offered on site and all properties have a stunning view of Burleigh Beach. As for her daughters, Anna said Elle is at an age where she is beginning to make friends so is 'a little bit sad' to be moving away from Sydney. 'I think [Elle's] a little bit sad going to the Gold Coast because she won't be able to see her friends,' she said. Spa and wellness treatments are also offered on site and all properties have a stunning view of Burleigh Beach 'They're starting to get to that age where they're making good friends and they don't want to leave them. 'But I know she'll make a lot of good friends while on the Gold Coast... She's great at making friends.' Anna added that Elle will officially be in primary school next year, which the influencer feels 'nervous' about but says she knows her daughter will 'thrive'. As for Anna's husband Tim, 42, who she married in 2018, he will be handling the initial set-up of the move. The blonde beauty will only get to spend one day on the Gold Coast after they move in before she has to fly back to Sydney for work. She will be attending a Huggies activation event at Westfield Bondi Junction, which will start next Wednesday on June 11 from 9am. Anna has been an ambassador for the nappy brand for four years, and is currently promoting the company's latest 'hero range' Huggies SkinProtect Nappies. Huggies, in collaboration with Hello Skin, has produced 'cheeky' limited edition Bum Masks for parents and will celebrate with an immersive pop-up at Bondi Junction. Anna and pediatric skincare expert Dr Deshan Sebaratnam will be in attendance at the four-day event as they invite parents along for the free experience. Thousands of visitors can receive skincare tips from Dr Deshan, take part in fun family photo moments and enjoy free pastries and babycinos. They will also be treated to take home samples of the new Huggies range and the limited edition Huggies Bum Mask. 'It's cheeky, pun intended,' Anna joked, adding the Bum Mask is a 'tongue-in-cheek' way of Huggies saying they'll 'look after parents' as well as their babies. 'I actually tried it,' she laughed, when asked if she had sampled the product which she describes is a 'face mask for your bottom'. 'Nobody was home. You have to lie on your stomach. You can either get someone to help or you can put it on yourself. It is quite relaxing,' she said.
