Love Island star Ouzy See says he's thrilled to be back playing football because he was 'getting fat' after quitting to go into the villa

Ouzy See has opened up about returning to play football for Edinburgh City, after quitting the team two years ago to go on Love Island. The 30-year-old went into villa as a Casa Amor bombshell in 2023, where he sparked a romance with Kady McDermott, and lasted almost three weeks. He decided to put his footballing career on hold to enter the show, after joining Edinburgh City in 2020 and spending four years at Meadowbank. After taking a break to jet off to Mallorca, he seemingly left the team, referring to himself as being 'unemployed' in April last year. While his exit was never officially confirmed by the club, he shared a snap of himself decked out in the club's colours, with the caption: 'think I'm technically unemployed'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. However, after months without a team, the model finally rejoined the Scottish club in November and has gushed over how thrilled he is to be back. While insisting he had no regrets about going on Love Island, Ouzy claimed he had been 'getting fat' without training. Speaking to The Sun, he said: 'I'm glad I took the risk and did it. These opportunities don't come up too often in your life. It changed my life in a way and the gaffer here, Michael McIndoe, was very understanding about it. 'But now I'm back and I am more committed to football rather than living the model lifestyle. I'm trying hard to commit everything to football right now. 'I'm enjoying it again and it feels good to be back in the routine here again. It feels good to be playing and training properly because I was getting fat!' Ouzy and Kady announced their split soon after being dumped, with Ouzy admitting that 'he was in the wrong' amid a flurry of cheating rumours. Kady made a cryptic dig about his 'bad behaviour' in a breakup statement, after reports that Ouzy met up with a stunning brunette influencer named Alicia, who he knew before Love Island, shortly after landing back in the UK. In a statement on Instagram, she wrote: 'Sadly late last night Ouzy's behaviour and actions from the 30th July were bought to my attention. Kady made a cryptic dig about his 'bad behaviour' in a breakup statement, after reports that Ouzy met up with a stunning brunette influencer named Alicia , who he knew before Love Island, shortly after landing back in the UK 'Ouzy is one of the loveliest people I have met and I know he is remorseful but unfortunately actions have consequences and although we are not 'official' in our relationship status I am definitely not prepared to start a relationship off on this foot. 'I wish him nothing but happiness and success in his life. Thank you for the continued support by so many of you, I'd like to focus on the many positives and move on with my life now.' Ouzy responded on his Story shortly afterwards as he penned: 'Just wanted to say what's happened with me and Kady had NOTHING to do with her or any false rumours that have been flying about, it's because of my actions that things have ended not Kady's. 'I have apologised to her already, she's an amazing girl with an amazing family and doesn't deserve any of the negative messages she has received this morning.' It comes after Love Island confirmed the full line-up of contestants joining the upcoming twelfth series on Wednesday. After joining the popular dating series in January 2023, Maya Jama will once again be at the helm when the ITV2 show returns on June 9. And there looks set to be the usual mix of love triangles, bedroom trysts and messy breakups as contestants make their way to the island. This year's crop of hopefuls include a Declan Rice body double, firebreather and Maura Higgins lookalike, as well as yet another footballer. Dejon Noel-Williams, who plays football semi-professionally alongside his job as a personal trainer, is also the son of a former Premier League striker. His dad is ex-Watford and Stoke striker Gifton, who 45, began his professional football career in 1996 when he joined Watford and last played for Codicote in 2017 before retiring. Dejon revealed that he 'met all kinds of famous people' because of his footballing father and even remarked on a meeting with David Beckham. He said: 'When I was younger it was weird because he was just my dad, but we'd go to a game and fans were asking for photos. I've met David Beckham, he was really nice.' Dejon, from London, boasts 11,000 followers on social media thanks in part to his regular shirtless gym snaps. His bio reads: 'I go beyond the gym -helping you build Strength, Confidence & Discipline for life.' In 2021, he represented the Grenada national football team. Dejon is not the only footballing connection in the upcoming series. Indeed, fans of the lower leagues may have spotted a star dubbed 'The Surrey Zidane'. Harry Cooksley, 29, is a midfielder for Southern League Premier South side Farnham Town. As well as his talent on the field, Harry also works as a gold trader and model. Aberdeen ‘set to battle Premiership rivals in transfer race for SPFL side's top scorer'

ABERDEEN have reportedly entered the race for one of Scottish football's hottest properties - but face stiff competition from several clubs. Jimmy Thelin is aiming to add more quality to his Scottish Cup winning squad this summer and one position he's looking at is a new striker. 2 Jimmy Thelin is keen to add to his squad Credit: Andrew Barr 2 He could snap up a top player in Scotland Credit: Willie Vass Kevin Nisbet is set to return to Millwall following his loan spell, while Oday Dabbagh's future at Pittodrie is currently unclear despite the Dons having an option to sign him permanently from Charleroi. Aberdeen have yet to trigger a deal for the Palestinian forward as things stand. Thelin, 47, is assessing his options elsewhere and is expected to complete at least one swoop for another hitman. And it looks like he's found his next man right here in Scotland. The Belfast Telegraph claim Aberdeen are readying move for Ross County talisman Ronan Hale. Hale, 26, is currently with the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Denmark and Iceland, but he will have a decision to make on his future when he returns to Dingwall. The former Cliftonville striker is expected to leave the Staggies after just one year following their relegation to the Championship. Hale scored two goals against Livingston in the Premiership play-off but he couldn't prevent his side from the drop and has likely played his last game for the club. It's said Aberdeen will face a battle to sign him as Dundee are also interested, along with a host of English clubs. EFL League One sides Wigan Athletic, Luton Town and Port Vale have all been reportedly keeping tabs on him as well. Aberdeen's Scottish Cup-winning heroes greeted by thousands on open top bus parade through the city after beating Celtic Hale scored 18 goals in all competitions for Ross County during the 2024/25 campaign. He could make his international bow for Michael O'Neil's side in the coming days after switching allegiances from the Republic of Ireland this year. The Staggies will command a healthy fee for the 26-year-old after he penned a three-year deal when he arrived at Dingwall last year.
