Heading into the summer transfer window, you could have made a fantastic argument that the Premier League side in most desperate need of a full-on rebuild was West Ham. The counter-point is that the Hammers have undergone so much change in recent seasons that less explosive modifications would better serve Graham Potter's needs, and that appears to be the route they have gone. After finishing 14th, scoring just 46 goals and conceding 62 (bottom-6 in the PL in both), West Ham have made Jean-Clair Todibo's loan a permanent move, and added goalkeeper Mads Hermansen from relegated Leicester for $27 million, 20-year-old Senegalese wing back El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague ($25 million) and Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson on free transfers.

Fabrizio Romano has essentially confirmed that one Premier League star will join Liverpool. It seems this one is going to happen. Liverpool have been busier than anyone in this transfer window as they've overhauled their squad. Perhaps nothing shows that off more than the fact they've spent the most money while also raking in the most. In fact, despite breaking their transfer record, signing the two most expensive full-backs in their history, and paying the most they ever have on a centre-forward, Liverpool aren't even in the top five for net spend in the Premier League. Ridiculously, they're not even done. Liverpool just signed Giovanni Leoni from Parma and have several sales in mind. Ben Doak, to name one, should depart for Bournemouth before long. We'll see what happens with Harvey Elliott, too. Alexander Isak is the big name wanted before the window closes and Liverpool are hoping to convince Newcastle United to sell. But even that's not all of - there's another Premier League star on the agenda. Liverpool want Marc Guehi Liverpool are pushing to sign Marc Guehi before the window closes. There's potential for a cut-price deal there as the centre-back is now in the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace. Chairman Steve Parish has publicly admitted they'll try to sell, too. It's all about finding the right price. But Fabrizio Romano claims that even if Liverpool don't find that price, Guehi will ultimately land at Anfield. It might just need to wait a year. "On Liverpool, I insist they are still working for Marc Guehi," Romano said on YouTube. "There's still a conversation ongoing with Crystal Palace, still a conversation ongoing with the player side because the agreement with the player is okay, from what I'm hearing. "Still waiting to see what happens club to club. But Marc Guehi wants to go to Liverpool. If it's not now, it's going to be in the future." It seems we're either seeing Guehi arrive at Liverpool in the next two weeks or we're seeing it next summer, then. Romano certainly believes so. We imagine a lot of it might hinge on what Real Madrid plan to do with Ibrahima Konate. He's also out of contract in a year and Los Blancos want to sign him. Maybe they'll wait, but maybe they'll try a late push. Guehi would certainly be an ideal replacement.

Football supporter dies at Albion game
A football supporter has died following a Brighton match. A 72-year-old man was taken unwell during the second half of the match against Fulham at the Amex this afternoon (August 16). Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service and St John's Ambulance, worked alongside Sussex Police, the club's crowd doctor and stewards to attend to the man. A privacy screen was put in place as crews worked. The club confirmed that the man passed away after the conclusion of the match. Club officials have said that their safety team, with support of Sussex Police and the Premier League, did consider stopping the match, however a decision was made that this could bring further attention and potentially impact resuscitation attempts. Club chief executive and deputy chairman Paul Barber said: 'This was an incredibly sad end to the match this afternoon, and our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family and friends of the gentleman who lost his life. 'While the gentleman concerned is foremost in our minds, we are also aware that it was an emotional and distressing situation for staff and supporters in the direct vicinity. Over the coming days we will ensure those affected are properly supported.' Club doctor and emergency medicine consultant Dr Rob Galloway added: 'Firstly, I would like to convey my condolences and sympathies to the gentleman's family and friends. 'It was a tragic outcome, but from an emergency response perspective, the medical care was exemplary, and the professionalism of club stewards and Sussex Police provided the medical team with the best possible working environment.' Capsey stars as Invincibles blow away winless Fire

Table Alice Capsey whacked her second half-century in this year's edition of The Hundred as Oval Invincibles eased to a 40-run win over winless Welsh Fire. Capsey's 55 off 34 balls featured seven fours and one six as she provided the backbone of the Invincibles' imposing total of 150-6. It was the 21-year-old's second fifty in as many matches following a lean run which had seen her score just one half-century in her past 32 T20 or Hundred innings. Capsey has also struggled in England colours this summer with five single-figure scores in six T20 international innings, but this was another outing brimming with confident strokeplay. It was almost a shock when Capsey was out - the crowd stunned when she was dismissed caught and bowled by Shabnim Ismail, who bagged 2-31. Marizanne Kapp took over where Capsey left off and boosted the total with an unbeaten 47 off 32 balls while Hayley Matthews bowled tightly to collect 2-18.
