Aggie fans and media react to Texas A&M's Game 3 series sweeping loss to Missouri
Texas A&M (27-23, 10-17 SEC) all but killed its chances of making it back to the NCAA Tournament after letting last-place Missouri make its way to College Station and sweep the Aggies, which began with an eight-run comeback on Friday night after A&M's three consecutive home runs broke the game open with a 6-1 lead, that eventually dissipated.
A&M's offensive attack, which has relied on the long ball for most of the team's comeback effort during SEC play, exposed the lack of consistent hitting that showed its ugly face throughout the weekend, especially in the final two games. Trailing 4-0 until the final inning on Saturday, the Aggies mustered two hits and one unearned run for a final 4-1 defeat.
On Sunday, two hits were A&M's offensive output yet again, as star outfielder Caden Sorrell's solo home run served as the one earned run in the past two days. Texas A&M's pitching performance didn't matter given the offensive struggles, as better hitting would have likely resulted in a sweep in favor of the home team.
With the loss, Texas A&M is on the very fringe of the NCAA Tournament picture, and will likely need to sweep Georgia and make a deep run in the SEC Tournament to have a shot at the postseason at this point, needing to jump back into the top 40 in the RPI rankings to have a legitimate case.
Losing 10-1 during the final home game in Blue Bell Park is just another blemish on what has been a rocky season for the Maroon & White. Here are the reactions from Aggie fans and media members after the sweep:
It's highly confusing
More than likely, yes he does
It certainly feels like a dream
I mean, most coaches do financially
It was on any "expert" bingo card this weekend
He will, though
History will more than likely be made, and it's not the good kind
Exactly
It's hard to think of any
We shall see how things proceed from here
What was expected vs. reality
Pitifull performance
Can't disagree

UNC football announces start times to key games

The anticipation is building for North Carolina's 2025 football season, the first under new head coach Bill Belichick. With spring practices over and a lot of activity in the transfer portal, Belichick has a good view of his roster as it stands now. We also know the schedule already for the Tar Heels as kickoff is just a few months away. But now, we are getting more information on games this season. Advertisement On Thursday, the program announced the start time for four more games this season: Week 2: AT Charlotte, 7 p.m. ET (Sept. 6) Week 3: vs. Richmond, 3:30 p.m. ET (Sept. 13) Week 8: AT CAL, 10:30 p.m. ET (Oct. 17) Week 10: AT Syracuse, 7:30 p.m. ET (Oct. 31) The games against Cal and Syracuse are scheduled to be broadcasted live on ESPN, while the Charlotte game will be on ESPN+ and the Richmond game on ACC Network. With Belichick being the new head coach, there is a lot of attention on North Carolina so the addition of two more primetime games isn't shocking. And they will likely have more. As we knew before, UNC will start the season in primetime against TCU, hosting the Horned Frogs on Labor Day at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The rest of the kickoff times for games will be announced at a later date. Aaron Rodgers signing causes outraged Steelers fan to burn signed jersey

Aaron Rodgers signing causes outraged Steelers fan to burn signed jersey To say the Aaron Rodgers signing has polarized the Steelers fan base would be an understatement — as one Pittsburgh fan took their anger to new lengths. A crazed Steelers fan wasn't just seeing red once the Rodgers news broke — he was seeing flames — as the bewildered Pittsburgh supporter set his signed Minkah Fitzpatrick jersey on fire to protest the move. Here's what the outraged fan had to say in the now-viral video — courtesy of SteelCityReece and Blitzburgh: 'Well, today, June 5, 2025, I'll never be a Steelers fan again. Autographed Minkah [Fitzpatrick] jersey — I'm burning all my Steelers stuff. Yinz decide to pick up Aaron Rodgers — I can't do this anymore. You kill us. You keep killing us. You let go of George Pickens, you know what I mean? You let go of Justin Fields, he had potential to be something. It's just — it's crazy. It's sad. Again, today is my last day being a Steelers fan. So, thank you [to the Rooney family]. Thank you [Mike] Tomlin. He really did it. Bye bye.' There were a small number of fans who claimed they'd stop supporting the Steelers if Rodgers signed — but this was a clear overreaction on his part. What anonymous coaches are saying about Auburn ahead of the NCAA Super Regionals

What anonymous coaches are saying about Auburn ahead of the NCAA Super Regionals Auburn baseball has made quite an impression this season according to several college baseball coaches. The vibes surrounding the Auburn Tigers ahead of this weekend's super regional are high. From fan support to national media, many are singing the Tigers' praises after the program made a turn from missing the postseason last year to being two wins away from its third College World Series appearance since 2019. Among those that are aboard the Auburn hype train are college coaches around the country. Select coaches, who wished to remain anonymous, shared their thoughts on the Tigers with D1Baseball ahead of this weekend's Super Regionals. One coach spoke on the team's chemistry and the pitching staff's ability to mix pitches to their advantage. 'Auburn is a connected team. Their entire team, their dugout, they are one connected unit. Pitching-wise, they throw a ton of strikes and they can mix both ahead in the count and behind in the count.' Another coach complimented the team's mix of older, mature players and young studs who are contributing at a high level early in their career. One particular Auburn infielder caught the attention of one coach, who credited him for being a hard out. 'They have the perfect mix of older and just aggressive, not scared freshmen. Just super talented. (Eric) Snow gives them good at-bats. I feel like the guy never swings and misses.' Auburn's game one starter, Sam Dutton, has become one of the SEC's top arms since transferring to Auburn last offseason. After struggling to find a place within LSU's rotation, he became Auburn's Friday night ace and has produced quality numbers on the mound: 3.84 ERA with 92 strikeouts with an OBA of .336 in 82 innings with a 7-3 record. One coach broke down what makes him a special arm and how an "early outing" in a game brought a sigh of relief. '(Samuel Dutton) is a mix artist. He's a pitcher. He's going to throw a bunch of different pitches at you in all different counts. You can't just sit on one pitch with him. It cannot happen. He threw versus us in a short stint, and literally, we weren't even close. And then they didn't put him back out there and I'm like 'thank God they took him out.' He was electric. He was phenomenal. He carved us up about as bad as anybody.' Auburn baseball will look to keep its hot streak going this weekend against Coastal Carolina in the Auburn Super Regional. First pitch of game one is set for 8 p.m. CT, with game two getting underway at 2 p.m. CT. Both games will air on ESPN2. Details for the "if necessary" game three will be revealed at a later time.
