Ahmedabad: Two students from Gujarat ranked among the All India Top 10, with Jenil Bhayani achieving All India Rank (AIR) 6 and the highest in the state, and Bhavya Jha bagging AIR 8 as the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG 2025 results on Saturday.
The exam, held on May 4, saw over 22.7 lakh candidates participate at more than 4,800 centres worldwide. The examination is vital for admission into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other healthcare courses. Overall, nine students from Gujarat were placed in the Top 100.
More than 50,000 candidates qualified from Gujarat, with merit likely to decrease by 50 marks. The NEET UG scorecard includes subject-wise scores, total percentile, AIR, and qualification status.
With the final answer key released, students can now access their scores online.
Admission counselling for both the All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota will commence soon. In Gujarat, 80,151 students appeared for the NEET UG exam, with 50,040 qualifying and 30,111 failing to pass. Compared to last year, there are about 7,000 fewer qualifiers from Gujarat, and national results indicate a decrease of around 21,000 qualified candidates.

Nationally, 22,06,318 students appeared for NEET 2025, with 12,36,531 qualifying and 9,72,787 failing to meet the cut-off. Unlike last year, when 16 students scored a perfect 720, no student achieved full marks this year. The top score was 686, suggesting that the merit cut-off may decrease by about 50 marks, potentially allowing more students with lower scores to enter medical schools.
In Gujarat, there are 16,246 seats available for NEET-based admissions. These include 6,958 for the MBBS course, 1,255 for BDS, 3,473 seats for BAMS (ayurveda), and 4,560 seats for BHMS (homeopathy). An additional 300 seats may be added pending approval for new medical colleges.

NEET UG 2025 Qualified? Here's 10 Points To Know Before Choosing A Medical College

With the NEET UG 2025 results now declared by the National Testing Agency, over 12.36 lakh students have qualified for admission to medical colleges across the country. As you begin the college selection process, it is important to evaluate several key aspects that can influence both your academic journey and career path. These include the college's accreditation, curriculum, infrastructure, faculty quality, admission process, fees, internship opportunities, location, and placement record. Here are 10 essential factors to consider before finalising your MBBS admission: Research Start by researching colleges online. Visit official websites, check alumni reviews, social media pages, and student forums. This will help you get a clear idea of your options. Accreditation, Rankings And Recognition Not all medical colleges are the same. Check if the college is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Also, look at its NIRF ranking and whether it is affiliated with a reputed university. Curriculum And Specialisations Compare the curriculum of various colleges. Whether you're considering a government or private medical college, review the subjects offered, specialisations available, and the amount of clinical exposure provided. Infrastructure And Facilities A good learning environment makes a big difference. Make sure the college has: • Modern laboratories • Dissection halls • Sports and recreation facilities • Clean and safe hostels • Access to libraries and internet These are essential for a smooth and enriching academic experience. Admission Process Government medical colleges are highly competitive due to lower fees, while private colleges are a viable option if your budget allows. Understand each college's cutoffs, reservation policies, and admission procedures carefully. Faculty Quality The quality of teaching is critical. Look into the faculty's qualifications, experience, student-teacher ratio, and teaching methods. Online reviews and alumni feedback can be helpful here. Medical College Fees In India Pursuing MBBS is a big financial decision. Make sure to check: • Tuition and hostel fees • Admission and security charges • Mess and library deposits Avoid cash payments-always pay via bank transfers and keep receipts for records. Internship And Clinical Exposure Clinical training is a vital part of medical education. Choose colleges that offer: • Strong hospital tie-ups • Regular internships • Departmental rotations for hands-on experience Location And Environment Consider the location of the college-its distance from home, transportation, climate, local language, and safety. These can affect your comfort and performance. Placements And Career Opportunities While placements aren't usually offered by government colleges, many private institutions have collaborations with hospitals, healthcare chains, NGOs, and even offer international exposure. Explore what support each college provides for post-MBBS career paths.

5 dementia symptoms hiding in plain sight that are not just normal aging

As we age, certain cognitive changes are expected, such as occasional forgetfulness or slower processing speeds. However, some symptoms may appear subtle and are often mistaken for normal aging, when in fact, they could indicate early stages of dementia. What is dementia? Dementia is a common and disabling disease that affects the brain. The number of people with dementia is growing worldwide and is expected to triple by 2050. There are currently over 55 million people with dementia worldwide, and nearly 10 million new cases of dementia develop each year. Now, dementia is a broad term describing a decline in cognitive abilities that encompasses various causes, including Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, among others. Although there's no proper cure for dementia, prevention is possible. It's the spotting of early signs of the disease that helps in preventing the disease with an early diagnosis and treatment. Recognizing these signs early can lead to better management and planning. Frequent word-finding difficulties It's common to occasionally forget a word or name, especially if it's not frequently used. However, individuals with early dementia may experience persistent challenges in finding the right words during conversations. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo They might pause mid-sentence, use fillers like "that thing," or substitute words incorrectly, such as calling a "watch" a "hand-clock." These difficulties can disrupt communication and may go unnoticed in casual interactions. Misplacing items in unusual places While misplacing items occasionally is a normal part of aging, individuals with dementia may place items in unusual locations and be unable to retrace their steps to find them. For instance, placing a wallet in the refrigerator or a remote control in a drawer is more than just absent-mindedness. This behavior can lead to confusion and may cause the individual to accuse others of stealing. Withdrawal from social activities A person who once enjoyed social gatherings may begin to withdraw from them, not due to a lack of interest but because they feel overwhelmed or embarrassed by their cognitive difficulties. They might avoid phone calls, skip family dinners, or stop participating in hobbies they once loved. This withdrawal is often a coping mechanism to hide memory lapses or confusion. Changes in financial management Dementia can affect judgment and decision-making abilities. Individuals may begin to make poor financial decisions, such as forgetting to pay bills, making unusual purchases, or falling victim to scams. These changes in financial behavior can be early indicators of cognitive decline and should be addressed promptly. Mood and personality changes Subtle shifts in mood and personality can be early signs of dementia. An individual may become unusually anxious, fearful, suspicious, or depressed. They might also exhibit irritability or anger over minor issues. These changes can be mistaken for normal aging or stress, but if they persist, they may indicate underlying cognitive issues. While some cognitive changes are a normal part of aging, it's important to be aware of signs that may indicate early dementia. If you or a loved one is experiencing persistent difficulties with language, memory, social interactions, financial management, or mood, it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. Early diagnosis can lead to better management and improved quality of life.
