It followed the three female comics as they dealt with a wide variety of topics, from irritating flatmates to workplace issues.
It proved to be a huge hit, with a regular audience of around 2.5million viewers.
Fiona, Doon and Sally have now revealed they will perform new sketches for the Edinburgh Fringe festival at the Gilded Balloon in August.
In a statement, the trio said: "This is slightly surreal because it's 24 years since we finished.

"We're not old comedy, we now qualify as vintage, which is cool. Is it?'
"Because we always talk sketch ideas when we get together, on some level it's almost as if Smack the Pony never really stopped - that it just kept going in some parallel universe.
"So it feels like Gilded Balloon is some kind of portal and we'll be popping into catch up with Series 26.
"We're very grateful to have this chance to hang out and take the p*** out of ourselves again - we've missed it!"

The series ran on Channel 4 until 2002, concluding with a special in January 2003.
In both 1999 and 2000, Smack The Pony won Best Popular Arts Show at the Emmy Awards.

She said: 'We go through phases of pitching it to people.
'Fiona Allen really is the engine behind that so she's always seeing if anyone wants it and we have gone through periods of pitching it to the channels and being very optimistic.'
And Doon Mackichan has said: 'So much has happened to us all, as mothers and women, there's a lot that is funny about where we are now.
'There are years of pain to draw on.'
'We will have to wait and see what happens and whether they will want to bring it out of the stable. But we would love to get the old nag out again."

On MAFS UK, she was paired with Pjay Finch from Birmingham, but they separated early when she discovered his job as an exotic dancer. After the 32-year-old star welcomed her daughter, Mia Jane, with fiancé TJ O'Reilly after undergoing four rounds of IVF. Advertisement The dental nurse was previously open about three miscarriages and a failed adoption. Although she did get pregnant, the birth of her first child was anything but straightforward. The former Channel 4 reality star has opened up on the traumatic birth after a 12 hour labour and five days in the hospital. She posted a snap of herself holding her newborn baby in tears onto her Instagram grid page as she accompanied the picture with an emotional essay. Advertisement Jess wrote: "This is a difficult one. But, I said I was sharing my whole journey, the good and the bad. "This was 15 minutes after Mia was born, when they had brought her back to life and I finally got to hold her. "When Mia was born she wasn't breathing, and she also had the cord around her neck (I didn't see as she was taken swiftly) Once I had birthed her, the midwife's pressed an emergency button and about 10 doctors come running in and whisked her away. Married At First Sight UK Jess breaks down in tears at wedding and says she WON'T go on the honeymoon She continued: "She had deflated lungs and wasn't breathing. It took 15minutes to bring her back. "I couldn't see what was happening, mum did and said it was very vigorous as they had to manually inflate them again and bring her back. Advertisement "I was screaming at the doctors, they were ignoring me, for obvious reasons- Mia was more important. "Tom had frozen and was just staring at me and holding me saying that everything will be alright." Mafs couples that have stood the test of time Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby. The pair couldn't keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam's Doncaster home. Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau. Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December. Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: 'I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.' Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019. Owen recalled: 'I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work. "While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in. 'The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I signed up?' 'A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.' Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson. Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong. They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod. Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship." The star admitted that the 15 minutes that the doctors spent working to save her child was the 'worst moment ' of her entire life. Jess added: "Mum was with Mia and the doctors. It was the WORST moment of my life. "I am crying whilst writing this…but the second I heard my baby cry and they bought her back to me, was the single best moment in my life. THE MUCKY MANSION'S HISTORY Katie, 47, has no end of problems with her Mucky Mansion. She bought the house in 2014 and it was reported that it set her back £ 1.3million. In 2020, the mansion fell into disrepair after intruders ransacked the property and caused damage throughout the home. Lucy was first up and completed the challenge but after dropping to the floor she was realised she had injured herself. Instructor Jason Fox asked the singer: "Have you cut your balls off," to which Lucy replied: "I didn't have any to begin with." After giving the correct code to chief instructor Mark Billingham and completing the task, Lucy was seen hobbling over to join the rest of the team. She told them: "I've cut my labia on the harness, it's bleeding." Lucy has since revealed that she now needs reconstructive surgery on her private parts. She said: "I ripped my labia - it was bad. That's not a common injury. Actually, genuinely, that's never been the same, so much so I'm having some surgery soon to correct it. "I don't really know even what happened, I guess the harness was tight. "I was like: "This feels really bad. Surely there can't be anything." And I looked and there was a tear, there was lots of blood and the doctor came over and I turned around because at that point you literally don't care about anything. Dignity has gone. It was like: 'Oh my God, I thought it was your leg.' And I was like: 'No, no, it's not!'" Lucy's woes didn't end with the harness, however. During filming of this series she also nearly knocked one of her teeth out, fainted, and suffered more horror injuries when she face-planted the sea after trying to jump from a helicopter onto a boat. Watch as Celeb SAS Who Dares wins star Bianca Gascoigne QUITS show right at the very end of series That left her with a black eye, which was still present on her wedding day, and permanently displaced filler in her cheeks. Lucy said: "I had the filler under my eyes and when my face hit the sea so hard my filler migrated to the side of my face. "By that point I was just in pain the filler didn't migrate back, when I got home I had to have it dissolved." Elsewhere, two more celebrities decided to quit the process last night in a shock move. Rebecca Loos decided enough was enough when she couldn't overcome her fears to complete the challenge on the viaduct. The celebs had to launch themselves off the viaduct and swing to safety. While singer Lady Leshurr was seen writing a note before asking to speak to the DS, where she informed him she couldn't carry on. She said: "I can't continue because of my neck, staff." The star then explained she had injured it in the previous challenge where they had to carry a raft, and the DS said he didn't want her to risk further injury if she really felt she couldn't continue. She then left the camp, before her fellow celebrities found her note saying goodbye, many of them shocked at her sudden departure.
