One luxurious ride is now the vibrant face of a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist.
On Saturday, Friday Harbour celebrated Canadian artistry and homegrown talent with the exclusive unveiling of a custom Bentley Bentayga transformed by artist Peter Triantos.
'Creating this piece at Friday Harbour was an incredible experience,' said Peter Triantos. 'Art should surprise, delight, and inspire. This collaboration was about movement, literal and emotional. I hope it sparks joy and reminds people that beauty and boldness can live in the everyday,' he added
The Innisfil event was the first-ever contemporary live art activation. 'At Friday Harbour, we proudly celebrate the creativity and spirit of Canadian talent by curating unique experiences that showcase the best of our country's art and culture,' says Hani Roustom, CEO, Friday Harbour Resort.
Known for his iconic 'Jelly Bean' and 'Abstract Expressionism' series, Triantos brought his signature designs to this one-of-a-kind mobile project.
'Cars and art have a long-storied connection,' said Adam Wexler, director of marketing at Grand Touring Automobiles. 'As a proudly Canadian company ourselves, working with local leaders at the top of their craft to explore this intersection for Canada Day was an honour and a privilege.'
Friday Harbour continues to celebrate Canadian pride with a lineup of activities across the resort, topped off with a spectacular fireworks display over the Harbour.

No injuries after bus crashes into Surrey, B.C., front yard, police say

File image: A "not in service" sign is seen on a TransLink bus on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. (CTV News) There were some alarming moments when a TransLink bus came barreling into the front yard of a home in Surrey, B.C., early Tuesday morning. Authorities said the bus driver veered off the road around 5 a.m. to avoid crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of 132 Street and 88 Avenue. While the incident is still under investigation, Metro Vancouver Transit Police said the bus was entering the intersection from the south as another driver came through from the east. 'The operator attempted to avoid a collision, and in the process made contact with a traffic pole before coming to a stop in a residential yard,' said Const. Amanda Steed, in an email. No one was injured, authorities said. The bus was not in service at the time, so there were no passengers on board. The collision did send the traffic pole down onto BC Hydro wires, forcing crews to temporarily close the intersection, but traffic has since resumed. Police said there was no apparent damage to the home itself.
