In a shock scheme, Claire claims she is diagnosed with cancer - and her treatment is not working.
It's a ploy to manipulate her way back into daughter Tori's (Harriet O'Shea) life.
She hatched the plot following a hospital trip to visit sister Grace Black (Tamara Wall).
After seeing patients receive treatment, Claire realised she could use this to her advantage.
It comes as an unlikely spark seemingly forms between Clare and Dodger Savage (Danny Mac).
Dodger has been firmly opposed to Clare due to her role in the exploitation scheme orchestrated by her ex-husband DI Banks (Drew Cain).
However, he softens his stance upon learning of Clare's alleged cancer situation.
With the undercover cop falling for her deceit, Clare moves on to the next stage of her plan.
Namely, making Dodger feel guilty over taking Tori away from Clare - given her current "poor health".
Hollyoaks star quits after nine years - and his final scenes have already aired
After accomplishing this, the pair then share a heart-to-heart, as Clare says she'd believed her husband was having an affair, not leading an exploitation ring.
The two continue to grow close - despite Dodger's sister Sienna (Anna Passey) warning him to steer clear from Clare.
Later, the ever-resourceful Clare devises a sneaky plan to get Dodger to her flat - as he apologises for thinking she was involved with her husband's crimes.
Feeling like he's falling for Clare, Dodger starts to worry if lines are becoming blurred.
As their chemistry intensifies, will Dodger be able to see through her lies?
A source said: "Clare's done some pretty bad things in her time but faking cancer is one of the worst.
From Hollyoaks to Hollywood
James Corden played a caretaker in the early days of the soap.
The former American TV host doesn't have much positive to say about his time on the soap, claiming it was "hell on earth."
Since his short-lived time on the show he has gone on to bigger things including smash hit comedy Gavin and Stacey.
Rachel Shenton joined the soap as aspiring glamour model Mitzeee Minniver in 2010.
Over two years her character was sent to prison, got pregnant and had a number of romantic affairs.
Since leaving Hollyoaks she has won an Oscar for best live action short film, The Silent Child.
Rachel has also starred in White Gold and All Creatures Great and Small
Emmett J. Scanlan played gangster turned anti-hero Brendan Brady.
Emmett played the love interest of Steve Hayes, with their romance delighting fans until it turned violent.
Since his departure Emmett has appeared in Peaky Blinders, The Fall, Gangs of London and even appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy
Emma Rigby joined Hollyoaks when she was 15 as Hannah Ahsworth.
Hannah's eating disorder storyline was the first of it's kind on TV while other plots included being caught in a fire, gangland drug dealing and running away.
Since leaving the soap in 2010 Emma has gone on to star in ABCs Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as the Red Queen. Other roles include guest appearances in Death In Paradise, Ripper Street and Fresh Meat
Nico Mirallegro got his big break with Hollyoaks starring as emo Barry 'Newt' Newton.
Nico's main storyline in the soap was developing schizophrenia which culminated in a suicide pact.
He left the soap in 2010 and went on to star in My Mad Fat Diary, Our Girl, Rillington Place, The Ark and Common, Penance, as well as the Mike Leigh movie Peterloo and was nominated for a Bafta for his role in period drama The Village.
Ricky Whittle used Hollyoaks as a stepping stone to break America.
He played one of the soap's resident hunks, Calvin Valentine, from 2006 to 2011 - when he was killed off at his wedding.
After leaving the soap Ricky cracked America starring in teen drama The 100 and America Gods.
He also appeared in Strictly Come Dancing in 2009.
Warren Brown joined Hollyoaks in 2005 for a year as evil Andy Holt.
His stint on the show consisted of date rape storylines and a crime spree, before eventually being killed off.
After leaving Hollyoaks, Warren became a big hitter in TV playing DS Justin Ripley in Luther, as well as major roles in a number of dramas including Liar, The Responder, Homefront and Good Cop.
Wallis Day played Holly Cunningham in the soap for years before leaving.
In 2021 Wallis won the role of Batwoman in DC's series, taking over from Ruby Rose.
"She uses it to get one over on Mercedes and get her daughter back.
"She'll stop at nothing to get Tori home and away from the Blakes.
"Dodger has no idea what he's dealing with even if he's not the sharpest tool in the box at the best of times."

Love Island faces 'lowest ratings yet' in series first as US version soars
Love Island UK fans aren't tuning into the ITV2 programme as much as they used to while the US version is getting more and more popular Love Island's latest series only started earlier this month with a viewership of one million on the first day, but the ITV2 programme failed to keep fans interested as the numbers dwindled over the weeks. Four years ago, the series launch brought in 2.5 million viewers while the 2022 series had 2.4 million viewers. By the next year, the first episode dropped to 1.3 million and last year's premiere had 1.7 million viewers. With this year's series, less and less people tuned into the dating competition. Excluding Unseen Bits, the first week of the new series averaged 855,000 viewers, much lower than 2024's numbers. The opening week averaged 144,000 for 16-24s. Many have been complaining about the series in recent years, with some complaining about it being "boring". Former Love Island winner Amber Rose Gill even hit out at the current state of UK reality TV, claiming it's become too 'soft' and over-policed by viewers who get offended over everything. In a fiery social media rant, the 2019 champ said the reason reality telly is 'dead' is because people can't say anything without backlash - calling out recent outrage over a Love Island contestant saying another girl was 'too glamorous for a 9-5'. Amber fumed: 'I've just seen articles about a girl saying someone's too glamorous for a 9-5 and everyone's like, 'You can't say that!' I need everyone to get several grips.' She continued: 'No wonder they come f**ing media trained, because God forbid you say anything out of line. I remember some of the s*** I said and trust me, I say worse in private!' Meanwhile, a lot of Love Island fans have turned to the US version of the show. The American version even had Megan Thee Stallion as a guest for one of their challenges. It was recently reported that series seven of the US show was the second most-watched streaming show on US television. From June 6 until June 12, the programme racked up 1.2 billion minutes viewed across nine available episodes. Casa Amor is about to arrive with Big Brother star Zak Srakaew entering the Fiji villa in a first for the programme. He burst onto the scene two years ago but didn't last long after becoming the second housemate to get the boot. He moved to Manchester from Thailand when he was a child and is in the States and after finding fame on the show two years ago, he is now hunting for love. There has already been plenty of drama so far and the UK audience are keen to know what's happening across the pond. But they will have to wait to see Zak in action - Love Island USA is not currently available to watch in the UK, but it may air on ITVX and ITV2 in the future, with previous seasons of the reality show available.

How to stream Sleeper Cell TV series that left viewers 'in state of suspense'
It's been 20 years since the release of the TV series Sleeper Cell, a thriller that lasted two seasons and was labelled 'unsettling'. Two decades later, the US Customs and Border Protection agency has claimed that the threat of sleeper cells in America has 'never been higher', after the US launched strikes on nuclear sites in Iran. Earlier this month, Israel launched strikes on nuclear and military sites in Iran, with Iran retaliating by sending missiles into Israel. Civilians have been killed and injured in both countries. The Telegraph reported that Iran sent a message to President Donald Trump threatening to activate sleeper cells in America if the country is attacked. A 'sleeper cell' is the name given to a spy or operative who is placed in a country and can be called to action at short notice. Back in 2005, 'provocative' thriller Sleeper Cell took viewers inside how the terrorist groups work, as well as exploring the representations of Islam. The thriller series followed American undercover FBI agent Darwyn Al-Sayeed (Michael Ealy), a proud Muslim man tasked to infiltrate a terrorist sleeper cell planning to attack Los Angeles. The cell is run by Arab extremist Faris al-Farik (Oded Fehr), who has disguised himself as a Jewish man. The second season, released in 2006, saw Dawryn attempt to take down a new cell after the events of the first season while also grappling with working with a new handler, Special Agent Warren Russell (Jay R. Ferguson). Sleeper Cell was nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding miniseries, but did not run for more than two seasons. For those who didn't tune in the first time around, or just want to refresh their memories, log onto Amazon Prime Video, where you can rent and buy seasons one and two. Alternatively, you can also rent and buy both seasons of Sleeper Cell from Apple TV Plus. Season one currently holds a 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics' consensus reading: 'Sleeper Cell approaches its provocative high-concept with a respectful exploration of religious extremism, but the series works better as a gritty thrill-ride than the nuanced drama it aspires to be.' 'Despite the mostly awful dialogue, Sleeper Cell succeeds on the strength of its plot. You're kept in a constant state of suspense as you watch various aspects of the plan taking shape,' The New Yorker said in their review. Baltimore Sun said: 'If one is looking for a TV drama that earnestly tries to reflect and speak to our lives and times, it would be hard to do better than Sleeper Cell.' The Wall Street Journal added: 'Its strains and balancing efforts aside, it is soon obvious that there's much in this story about the day-to-day planning and training for a terror strike that should enthrall — and chill — audiences.' 'It's to the writers' credit that they set out to engage viewers' brains as well as their adrenal glands,' Empire summarised. After appearing on the show, Ealy went on to land roles in The Good Wife, Californication, and Westworld. He also landed big screen roles in Think Like a Man, The Intruder, and The Perfect Guy, among others. Speaking to Ebony Magazine in 2015, the actor, 51, opened up and POC representation on screen and how the world of TV is changing. More Trending 'I think we're right on track,' he said. 'I don't think we've arrived at the destination. But things are definitely getting better. 'There was a long time where the Asian character couldn't be anything but a doctor. That has changed. You still have to deal with Middle Eastern characters not being terrorists all the time. And we're trying to get away from that. 'So we're starting to see that open up with different shows. And that, to me, is going to make Hollywood and this TV world a much more diverse place.' ‘Get her out' rant Love Island fans as they call for star to be kicked off show for ‘bullying'
Tonight's episode sees one islander in tears as he appears to back track on his behaviour Bikini Beef 'Get her out' rant Love Island fans as they call for star to be kicked off show for 'bullying' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans were left fuming during last night's explosive episode - with many demanding one islander be booted from the villa after accusing her of 'bullying' behaviour. Viewers vent their frustration with some even calling on ITV bosses to step in after islander constantly "digs out other girls." Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 5 Helena is slammed of bringing "mean girl energy" Credit: Eroteme 5 Helena accused Toni of marking her territory with Harrison Credit: Eroteme Helena Ford, 29 has been accused of brining "mean girl energy" and constantly "digging out" other girls in the sun-soaked villa. Viewers previously begged Helena to stop being a "doormat" and dump Harry, 30, for good after he finally admitted to snogging Yasmin, 24, in the Hideaway. His confession prompted the blonde beauty to storm off and call things off with Harry for good saying she's "done" being humiliated. Since then, Helena has failed to strike up a spark with any of the other boys in the villa. But she hasn't stayed out of the spotlight - instead, Helena's found herself caught up in the girls' drama. Sitting down with the newest boy Harrison, 22, to chat and flirt, Helena was talking about his other love interest, Toni, 24. Helena explained how she thought Toni was "marking her territory" with Harrison. She also said that it sometimes felt like Toni didn't like her talking to Harrison. Harrison was stunned and intrigued as Helena spoke about the American bombshell. Fans are flooding online forums with the same message: 'Get Helena out!' Love Island feud exposed as fans spot girl 'making faces' behind rival's back One wrote: "I feel as though she has such mean girl energy and can't hold a conversation without digging another girl out. "She has flashes of being funny and witty and I think her probably humiliating experience with Harry has left her feeling insecure and feeling worse but I've had enough of it now! "I also think if she left it would break up the unholy bully alliance of Meg/Megan/Helena (and increasingly Emily)". Another added: "Helena is just a boy follower. In all seriousness, Helena is so male centred it hurts. "My insides cringe when she puts down another woman herself or tries to get a man to say something negative about a woman. It's really sad how that is what feeds her own ego." In a spoiler for tonight's episode, Harry Cooksley is seen sobbing as he appears to back track on his behaviour towards Helena. A video shows him in tears as he sits with Dejon, who said if he could have it his way he would see the pair together. Semi pro footballer Harry, with tears in his eyes, replies: "Yeah. "Like, we just have nothing. "Do you know what I mean?" He then paused to dab his face and added: "Where it's just like, we were good and then it's just like she can't even be around me. "Geez. It's just weird man. "Like it'll never be the same now after the way I've acted, do you know what I mean?" The official Love Island account on X posted the caption: "The consequences of Harry's antics hit home." Yet many thought he was having a taste of his own medicine following his lothario conduct. One fan was quick to write: "Crying as if all of this wasn't his own doing. Men lack accountability fr." A second posted: "If it isn't the consequences of your own actions…." A third noted: "He's realised he's exhausted all his options that man does not want to be with Helena," while one agreed and put: "And tomorrow he'll want Emily we can't predict his next move." One then mused: "Some self reflection is always good." 5 The footballer said of his former partner 'she can't even be around me' Credit: X / @LoveIsland 5 He comes to terms with that his connection with Helena will 'never be the same' Credit: Shutterstock Editorial
