Taiwanese celeb couple Tiffany Ann Hsu and Roy Chiu expecting first child
After some three years of marriage, Taiwanese celebrity couple Tiffany Ann Hsu and Roy Chiu are going to be parents.
According to an exclusive report from Taiwanese news outlet Mirror Daily on May 5, a source close to the couple has confirmed that Hsu, 40, is four months pregnant.
Hsu's only public appearance in recent months was a launch party for luxury brand Chanel in April. The source said the brand respected her desire to keep her pregnancy private. Hsu wore a loose knitted dress and her condition was not obvious to the other attendees.
The source added that Hsu had been trying to conceive for some time. She rejected job offers that came to her after relationship drama Imperfect Us (2024), for which she won Best Actress in a Miniseries at the Golden Bell Awards in October 2024, to focus on her health and getting pregnant.
She kept the good news under wraps until she passed the first trimester.
Sparks flew between Hsu and Chiu, 43, reportedly while they were filming the romance film Man In Love (2021). While they kept their courtship low-key, they announced their marriage in December 2021.
Since then, the couple have rarely appeared in social media posts or public events together, though they would speak of each other to the media on occasion.
After the Golden Bell Awards in October, Hsu was briefly rumoured to be pregnant. She was spotted patting her tummy while giving her acceptance speech onstage, leading to speculation that she was expecting.
At the time, Hsu denied being pregnant. Asked if she planned on having a baby, she told Taiwanese reporters: 'We'll see if the universe wants to send us a gift.'

Singapore pop diva Stefanie Sun made an emotional return to the Taiwan stage on Aug 16. It was where she made her debut 25 years ago and a place filled with memories for her. Her two sold-out concerts at Kaohsiung Arena were part of her Aut Nihilo tour, her first headline gigs on the island in 11 years. On the first night, the 47-year-old made several references to her time in Taiwan, tearing up twice as she walked down memory lane. As she started on the opening lines of The Moment, she suddenly stopped to wipe away her tears and let the fans take over the singing for a while. The song was from her 2003 compilation album of the same name. It was released shortly before she made the difficult decision to take a one-year break from the music industry, even as she was enjoying immense success. SINGAPORE – As a child, Lina Ng dreamt of one day becoming a doctor. That did not happen, and over her 32-year-long acting career, the Singaporean has also never played one. However, on Aug 14, the 51-year-old finally got to be 'Dr Ng' for a few moments. And no, it was not for a drama. It was at the white coat ceremony of her second son, Joel, who has been accepted into the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The ceremony was when the NUS Medicine Class of 2030 donned their first white coats and pledged to serve with integrity and compassion. The presentation of white coats by faculty to the students symbolise their taking on the mantle of a doctor in training, guided by the principles and responsibilities of their future profession. Ng is married to former national bowler Mike Lam, in his 50s, and they have three sons – Jeriel, 21; Joel, 19; and Samuel, 14.
