‘You're a snake' – Derek Chisora's explosive row with Dillian Whyte after slamming drugs scandal and Moses Itauma fight

The Suna day ago
DEREK CHISORA says he had a blazing row with Dillian Whyte after repeatedly criticising his Great British rival.
Chisora shared 23 epic rounds with Whyte, losing a controversial split-decision in 2016 before being knocked out by a left hook two years later.

In the years since, the two have become the best of enemies, with their relationship blowing from hot and cold.
But Whyte, 37, was left heated after Chisora, 41, questioned his decision to accept a bout with unbeaten 12-0 prospect Moses Itauma.
And Chisora's stance on doping offenders needing an instant decade-long ban is also said to have fired up Whyte.
Chisora made the claim on SunSport's latest No Glove Lost episode ahead of Whyte's fight against Itauma on Saturday - live on DAZN PPV.
He said: "I rang him and he didn't answer and then he sent me a voice note saying, 'Why are you ringing me for? You're not my friend, you're a snake, you're trying to take food out of my kids' mouth.'
"But the reason why he's upset is because a couple of months ago I did talkSPORT and I said I think if you get caught cheating in boxing, you should get banned for life because.
"Why should you have a disadvantage on someone else who's woken up every morning, trained hard, but you train less and you inject yourself by something to beat the other guy?
"That's not fair, so that's my thing. I always talk to the board that if we get someone cheating in the in in boxing they should get banned for like at least ten years."

Whyte was banned for TWO YEARS in 2012 after testing positive for methylhexaneamine (MHA) - known to increase energy.
The stimulant was contained in a pre-workout called Jack3D - which Whyte says he took without knowing it was banned.

In July 2019, Whyte then tested positive for an unknown banned substance before his victory over Oscar Rivas - with the bout allowed to go ahead.
But five months later the case was dropped by United Kingdom Anti-Doping in another case of "isolated contamination".
Whyte's third doping case came in 2023 when his big-money rematch with Anthony Joshua - following defeat in 2015 - was scrapped.
Again, the Jamaican-Brit returned an adverse finding and put it down to contamination before he continued his career overseas without serving a ban.
British light-heavyweight Anthony Yarde joined Chisora on the panel and agreed abusers of Performance Enhancing Drugs must be banned.
Yarde was beaten in his 2019 WBO world title challenge to Sergey Kovalev - who tested positive for synthetic testosterone.
He said: "This is nothing against Dillian but I in terms of people who have been caught or that cheat in boxing, I agree. You should be banned.
"Even looking at my career, this might be a bit personal to me, but Kovalev when I went out to Russia, again I'm a young kid in boxing, I'm a kid.
"I go out to Russia, heart of a lion, gave everything. Then he thought Canelo, he got knocked out and his return fight, he got banned for drugs.
I rang him and he didn't answer and then he sent me a voice note saying, 'Why are you ringing me for? You're not my friend, you're a snake, you're trying to take food out of my kids' mouth.'
Derek Chisora on Dillian Whyte
"Like, how does that make me feel looking at that saying my life could be different? What if I won that fight, like these are the three kinds of things that go through here that can break people.
"That can make people think I'm not good enough. It can ruin someone's career.
"And we're in the hurt business. Boxing's a dangerous sport. If you get found drugs in your system, as Derek said, lifetime ban."
Chisora himself was offered the fight for Itauma - but he turned down the £2million deal to preserve his No1 ranking in the IBF.
But if Whyte turns back the clock and upsets the odds - Chisora is open for the trilogy bout to close out his 50th and final fight.
He said: "If he wins this one, maybe one more. If he wins this one, I will fight."
Chisora is actually hoping and picking Whyte to win - with retirement allegedly on the cards if his old pal is beaten.
He said: "Listen, I would love to see Dillian win it. Genuinely, because Dillian is from the old school.
"There's a young buck who's coming in the neighbourhood who's just smoking everybody. I would like to see Dillian win it, it'd be amazing.
"And remember Dillian apparently said, if he gets beat he'll retire after this one. That's the rumour. But I want Dillian to win it."

Mikel Arteta: Martin Odegaard deserves to be Arsenal captain ‘by a mile'

Mikel Arteta insists there is 'no question' Martin Odegaard still deserves to captain Arsenal after former skipper Tony Adams called for the Norwegian to be stripped of the armband. Adams, speaking at an Irish Independent Sport event in Dublin, demanded the Gunners boss make the change ahead of the new campaign, arguing 'proper player' Declan Rice was the man for the job. Arteta vehemently disagreed with that assessment, confirming Odegaard has the backing of everyone at the club. 'My opinion is clear,' said Arteta, 'and it's not just my opinion. It's all the staff and especially the players. 'I asked them to vote (for) the captain and I got the results yesterday. By a mile, by a big, big, by 100 miles, everybody chose the same person, Martin Odegaard, which is the most clear sign that you can have. 'It's how they feel about who has to be their captain, to defend, to improve, and win the matches that we want to win, so I think there is no question about that.' Adams, quoted in the Irish Independent, said: 'Every now and again as a manager, you have to put someone who reflects you, who reflects the football club, that you think can actually take you to the next level. 'You've got someone in there who's going to play every game all season, that's going to encourage people to come in and lay the foundations of a title-winning team. 'Declan Rice can do that, Odegaard can't. Come on Arteta, make him captain. I think he is better than Arteta. I think he's a winner. As a man, he is a proper player.' Arteta said he could talk about leadership 'for hours', but asked to summarise Odegaard's qualifications, replied: 'What matters the most is how these guys feel about who needs to lead them, how they feel comfortable, who is going to push them, who is going to give them support when it's happening.' Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign with a trip to Manchester United, then host newly promoted Leeds before a difficult stretch that will see them play Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City and Newcastle. That run, agreed Arteta, could be the ideal litmus test for their capacity for winning the title this season. He said: 'Yes, especially (with) the consistency that we showed in the last three years, and now the margins, we know how small they are. We know that the competition has increased the level with recruitment, with another year together.' Arteta confirmed summer signings Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi will be fit to play on Sunday, and is optimistic Leandro Trossard will also be available. And while Arteta joked 'too many' Premier League teams have a legitimate shot at lifting the trophy, some he even suspects will 'surprise everybody', he remains more determined than ever to claim the silverware that has so far eluded him. He added: 'You keep digging, digging, digging, and you have to be digging because one day the gold is going to be there. 'You have the consistency, but now we have to do it in a season, to end with more points than any other team. That's the objective.'

Physically he is ready, and that is big component in our league. He is smart. He is a guy that is thinking. He spent all afternoon working on his fitness, so he is ready to play and we will see."He added: "I am very happy [with him]. He has great potential. He can play different types of football. He is going to feel the Premier League is very aggressive but he will learn and has great potential I can see him being a striker for United for lots of years. That is why we have paid so much money for a striker that can have history in this club."The United boss said a "return to Europe" is a target for them this season, but they are "going to have to fight a lot" and all they can focus on now is "to improve game by game".Asked about the future of forward Rasmus Hojlund, he responded: "He is one more option. We are focused on this game and we will see. Rasmus is still our player."On how confident he is with what his team will look like this campaign: "It is hard to know. We can't change everything in four weeks, but we are better. We are training harder and better and know we can cope with the demands of the game. We have new players and we need to understand what they can do in the moment. I am more confident in this moment."Amorim feels it is "a good thing for Bruno [Fernandes] to stay in one position" and added: "I want Bruno near the ball and that is really important for our team, but sometimes we need Bruno near the goal. We will try to arrange game by game the best players in the best positions."He is "happy" with the players he has and feels they can "cope" despite being light in midfield all of Friday's Premier League news conferences and the rest of the day's football newsListen to BBC Radio 5 Live commentary of Man Utd v Arsenal on Sunday
