
Emaar Properties announces 100% dividend payout of Dh8.8 billion

DUBAI (WAM)Emaar Properties on Wednesday approved a 100 per cent dividend payout, amounting to Dh8.8 billion, during its Annual General Meeting (AGM). This follows the introduction of Emaar's updated dividend policy in December 2024.The meeting also included the approval of the auditor's report for 2024, along with the board's report on the company's activities and financial position.Emaar's financial results for 2024 reflected strong operational performance and continued growth across its key business segments. The company recorded property sales of approximately Dh70 billion ($19 billion), representing a 72 per cent increase compared to 2023.Emaar's revenue backlog from property sales exceeded Dh110 billion ($30 billion), supporting future revenue generation.Total revenue for 2024 reached Dh35.5 billion ($9.6 billion), marking a 33 per cent year-over-year increase, while net profit before tax grew by 25 per cent to Dh18.9 billion ($5.1 billion). EBITDA for the year stood at Dh19.3 billion ($5.2 billion), with a margin of 54 per cent.

Staff Reporter, Gulf Today Etihad Airways has signed a strategic codeshare agreement with Taipei-based STARLUX Airlines, expanding customer access to Northeast Asia and strengthening Abu Dhabi's position as a gateway between East and West. The partnership, announced at the International Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, enables Etihad customers to connect seamlessly to key Japanese cities including Nagoya, Sapporo, and Fukuoka via Taipei, whilst offering STARLUX passengers direct access to Etihad's European network through Abu Dhabi. Etihad will launch daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Taipei on 7 September 2025, operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The new route creates the foundation for the codeshare partnership, positioning Taipei as a gateway for Etihad's expansion into Northeast Asia. Etihad customers booking through and the airline's mobile app will benefit from streamlined travel with single-ticket bookings, coordinated check-in processes, and automatic baggage transfers to final destinations across STARLUX's Asia-Pacific network. The agreement also opens new pathways for STARLUX passengers to reach European destinations including Prague, Madrid, and Barcelona via Abu Dhabi, positioning the emirate as an attractive transit hub for Asian travellers bound for Europe. Both airlines will launch joint marketing initiatives in Taiwan and establish a reciprocal frequent flyer programme by year-end, allowing Etihad Guest members to earn and redeem miles across both networks. Dubai Future District Fund Backs Over 190 Startups in 2024, Raises Over $1.65B
At its Annual General Meeting, the Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF), anchored by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), shared key updates from its 2024 performance. The meeting highlighted a year marked by strategic growth, closer alignment with Dubai's economic goals, and steps towards supporting a resilient and inclusive innovation environment. The AGM also set the tone for DFDF's direction in 2025, which has been nationally designated as the Year of the Community. In reference to the UAE's declaration of 2024 as the Year of Sustainability, DFDF reiterated its focus on long-term value creation, responsible innovation, and community-focused investment. Over the course of the year, the Fund strengthened its partnerships with founders, investors and stakeholders addressing real-world challenges, reinforcing its dual role as both a capital provider and a facilitator within the broader ecosystem. The Board of Directors reported that DFDF supported more than 190 portfolio companies through a combination of direct investments and 12 Fund of Funds initiatives.
