Indians racially attacked in Ireland: Ex-Irish cricketer Kevin O'Brien backs victims, says ‘Ireland is your home too'
'I want to say how deeply saddened I am by the recent racist and hateful acts against Indians in Ireland. These attacks do not represent who we are as a people. India and its people hold a very special place in my heart," said the former international, who played 153 ODIs, 110 T20Is and three Tests for Ireland during his career.
'I want to reiterate to the Indian community that Ireland is your home too. Your contribution to Irish society is immense, and we deeply value everything you do," added O'Brien, who roared into limelight with a then fastest ODI World Cup hundred against England in 2011 in India.
The video was reposted by the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi. 'A special message from Irish cricketer @KevinOBrien113. The bond between our countries will remain unshaken by the actions of a small few," read the caption.

If he remains fit, the 40-year-old will play his first professional match against an Indian club. Al Nassr and FC Goa will meet twice in the group stage. There is a slim chance that Ronaldo may play in India. Due to a reported clause in his contract, travel for certain away games is restricted for him. Anyway, he is confirmed to appear in the home fixture against FC Goa in Riyadh. For FC Goa, this marks one of the most high-profile matches since their founding in 2014. They qualified by defeating Oman's Al Seeb 2-1, with goals from Dejan Drazic and Javier Siverio. Al Nassr will face FC Goa in the AFC Champions League 2 group stage. The match in India could happen on any of these dates: September 16–17, September 30 or October 1, October 21–22, November 4–5, November 25–26 and December 23–24. This means Ronaldo could visit India as early as September or as late as Christmas Eve in December. Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan Super Giant are in Group C with Iran's Sepahan SC, Jordan's Al Hussein and Turkmenistan's Ahal FC. The legendary football club from West Bengal earned their spot by winning the 2024/25 ISL Shield. Cristiano Ronaldo is now engaged to his long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez. Bhuvneshwar Kumar Gives Blunt Verdict On Jasprit Bumrah 'Workload' Row: "If You Want..."
Veteran Indian cricket team fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar defended Jasprit Bumrah on the controversy surrounding his 'workload management'. Several experts as well as fans were extremely critical of Bumrah not playing all five Test matches in the series against England. Bumrah played three matches but with India trailing 1-2, he was rested for the final encounter. Bhuvneshwar pointed out that Bumrah's bowling action results in quite a few injuries and given the amount of cricket he has played over the years, it is understandable that Bumrah prefers to not play all the matches at present. "Considering how many years Bumrah has been playing and competing in all formats, it is tough for anyone to sustain that. Given the kind of bowling action Bumrah has, injuries can happen to him or anyone. I had no problem with him playing three out of five matches," Bhuvneshwar said. Bhuvneshwar went on to say that even if Bumrah does not play all the matches in a series, his contributions make it a good decision for the selectors. "If the selectors know what he can offer and are comfortable with it, it is because they know he can still make a big impact in those three games. If a player might not play all five matches but can contribute significantly in three, that should be acceptable - people do not always understand how tough it is to keep playing for so many years across formats.

August 15, 1929 hrs: Five years since MS Dhoni retired from international cricket but the legend still reigns in Yellow
It's been five years since MS Dhoni stunned the cricketing world by retiring from international cricket on August 15, 2020, during the COVID-19 hiatus. The decision left his passionate fans emotional, as many had hoped to see the legend finish his illustrious career on a high. His last outing in India colours came in the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final, where he walked off in tears after being run out in a heartbreaking loss that ended India's campaign. MS Dhoni last played for India in the 2019 World Cup.(Getty Images) Dhoni made his international debut in 2004 and went on to write a new history in Indian cricket during his tenure as captain. He remained the only captain in international cricket to win all three ICC trophies: 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. The swashbuckling wicketkeeper batter was given the big role of captain for the first time in the 2007 T20 WC to lead a young side in the inaugural edition of the tournament. The low expectations from the Indian team worked in its favour as Dhoni led them to the title triumph with win over Pakistan. The 2007 final against Pakistan was the first instance where the cricket world truly witnessed Dhoni's tactical acumen, as he handed the ball to Joginder Sharma instead of the experienced Harbhajan Singh for the decisive last over. In 2011, he helped India win the ODI World Cup for the second time, ending a 28-year wait. Dhoni hit the winning run for India in the final as he finished off the match in style with a six as his unbeaten 91 earned him the Player of the Match in one of the most historical matches in Indian cricket history. Dhoni announced his international retirement in his trademark simple style with an Instagram post: 'Thanks a lot for your love and support… from 1929 hrs, consider me retired.' True to his nature, it was brief, clear, and without any grand send-off. The fact that it came on August 15, India's Independence Day, gave the moment extra significance. During his illustrious career, Dhoni represented India in 90 Tests, scoring 4,876 runs and six centuries. He quit the longest format in 2014. Meanwhile, in 350 ODIs, amassing 10,773 runs at an average of over 50, including 10 hundreds. In T20Is, he played 98 matches, scoring 1,617 runs. Renowned for his wicketkeeping, he claimed 634 catches and 195 stumpings across formats. MS Dhoni still going strong in IPL However, he has yet to announce his retirement from the IPL as he continues to represent Chennai Super Kings in the cash-rich league. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has played in 278 IPL matches, amassing 5,439 runs at an average of 38.30. He has hammered 24 fifties, hit 237 sixes, and led CSK to five IPL titles, cementing his legacy.
