ASAP Rocky rushes to support Rihanna after tragic death of her dad
Singer A$AP Rocky was spotted in New York rushing to be by pregnant Rihanna's side after her father, Ronald Fenty, died at the age of 70 following a brief illness
Rihanna's boyfriend, singer A$AP Rocky, rushed to be by her side after tragically losing her father. Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, has died aged 70 in Los Angeles following a brief illness, according to reports. The pop icon, who shares two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 1, with A$AP Rocky, has reportedly been supported by her partner throughout this difficult time. The rapper was spotted in New York, where Rihanna is also staying.
The musician stepped out in all-black attire, consisting of some cropped black jeans, a dark t-shirt and a black leather bomber jacket. He completed the look with some sunglasses and chunky jewelry.
A$AP Rocky was snapped with his assistant, who covered him with an umbrella as he walked to a car where he reportedly made his way back to his family.
Ronald and Rihanna had a turbulent relationship. However, he previously opened up on how much she is loving mum life. The pop star's father told Page Six: 'She's loving it. She's a very overprotective mother', before joking that the baby looks like him.
He added: 'Everybody says [the baby] looks like me, but you know, babies change, faces change. He [resembles] a lot of Rihanna and Rocky together.'
Rihanna previously paid for her father to attend a $58,000 Malibu rehab following a difficult period in their relationship that saw her send him home from her tour due to his alcohol abuse. Ronald was also the subject of a lawsuit filed by his daughter, who accused him of misusing her name to benefit his own entertainment company; however, she later dropped the lawsuit.
Rihanna announced her third pregnancy earlier this month when she attended the 2025 Met Gala, following many rumours that another baby was on the way. After keeping fans guessing by wearing baggy clothes, Rihanna used her fitted two-piece to make the big announcement at the 2025 gala.
The singer is building quite a reputation for delivering iconic pregnancy announcements after she announced her second pregnancy while performing at the Super Bowl.
Her dad reportedly had "no idea" his daughter was expecting a second baby at the time and is thought to have 'found out while watching the Super Bowl'.
TMZ reported Ronald said: "Oh my God! My baby girl looks pregnant', while recalling the moment that he watched her perform the halftime show.

Shakira's world tour in turmoil after singer cancels SIX shows... leaving fans outraged
Shakira is currently in hot water with her fans after cancelling a sixth show on her sold-out Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. Reasons for the multiple cancellations have included hospitalization, safety issues, and technical difficulties. The Colombian singer, 48, recently axed three shows in three days, with the most recent being for a WorldPride show in Washington, DC. Around 5pm EST on Friday, the venue posted a statement reading, 'Due to complications with the previous show in Boston, Shakira's full tour production cannot be transported to Washington, D.C. in time for her scheduled performance at Nationals Park on Saturday, May 31.' Shakira also issued a statement of her own, telling TMZ, 'I have been counting the days, excited to be reunited with my fans in both Washington and Boston, and my team and I have made every effort to make it happen, but it doesn't depend on any one of us right now, and I am devastated that these shows were just not possible this time.' She added, 'I promise that I will do everything in my power to be with you as soon as I can.' It comes after the Hips Don't Lie hitmaker had to cancel two back-to-back shows scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Boston's Fenway Park. The cancellations were due to city inspectors identifying 'structural elements that were not up to standard,' according to TMZ. Fans online haven't taken kindly to the cancellations, with many flooding Shakira's Instagram account with angry comments. 'I traveled with my family from Pittsburgh, took time off work, and paid for an Airbnb — all for this one special occasion. This was supposed to be my daughter's birthday gift,' complained one. 'I've waited 30 years to see you. You wait less than 24 hours to cancel a sold out crowd in Washington DC. I thought highly of you and hoped you had the courtesy to not let your most devoted fans down. I'm heart broken. Lots of people traveled and took time off to see you. This is just gut wrenching,' wrote another. A third commented, 'Terrible! Never again! Second cancellation… first because the venues weren't big enough. Now because they can't bring equipment?! I guess those hips do lie.' A fourth wrote, 'Go out with the musicians and just sing! Without any show if it is impossible to do. I was at a concert where there were problems and the musician just took the pianist and made a concert. Don't leave people at the door. You are rich, and people save up for a trip to you and spend their last money and weekends. There is some kind of empathy. I am honestly in such shock.' Shakira officially kicked off the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour in Brazil back in February. Despite the string of issues, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour has become highest grossing Latin American concert by a female artist Less than a month into the tour, the star postponed a total of four shows in Latin America – one for medical reasons and three due stage production issues. After postponing two back-to-back shows in Chile, Shakira attempted to make it up to her fans by delivering an impromptu performance of Antología from her hotel balcony, where hundreds had gathered to catch a glimpse of the star. She also issued a statement, blaming production problems. 'When an artist travels to a country, their production and team become directly dependent on the local producers,' she explained. 'My staff and I trusted at all times that the production company hired by the local promoter would follow to the letter the specifications that were diligently provided by us so that a show of the magnitude of this one could take place.' She also rescheduled a number of North American dates last year, citing the need to upgrade venues from arenas to stadiums to meet demands. Despite the string of issues, the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour has become highest grossing Latin American concert by a female artist, surpassing Karol G's Mañana Será Bonito tour. Her Mexican and South American shows have already grossed a staggering $130 million with just 21 shows. As reported by Billboard, Shakira's is the only Latin tour to reach Top 10 of the 2025 midyear Boxscore Report, ranking number two globally. It falls behind Coldplay, who earned $142 million with 1.3 million people turning up for 20 shows between October 31, 2024 and March 31, 2025.

Rihanna 's father Ronald Fenty has reportedly passed away at age 70. TMZ has reported that Ronald died in Los Angeles following an illness. Starcomm Network, a radio station in Rihanna's home country of Barbados, has also reported Ronald's death, adding that he passed on Saturday morning after a 'brief illness' and family members are now in California. When exactly Ronald passed and an official cause of death remain unknown. has contacted representatives for Rihanna for comment but did not immediately hear back. Rihanna has had a tumultuous relationship with her father which saw them become embroiled in legal woes at one point. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The strained relationship with her father was brought into the spotlight in 2009—four years after her debut single—when she revealed they hadn't spoken in more than a year. 'I've been the one trying to reconcile with him forever,' she said during an appearance on Ryan Seacrest's Kiis FM radio show, per The Hollywood Reporter. 'I haven't heard from my father in over a year. I try though, I reached out to him. I did my part. Now it's on him.' At the time, she said they had a falling out after he 'embarrassed' her on her tour. 'He disrespected some people on the bus and I didn't like that, so I kind of just let him go back home,' she said. The pop star also said at the time that she was 'upset' that her dad had given interviews following her assault at the hands of then-boyfriend Chris Brown. 'He kind of did something that was really upsetting. He turned his back on me and went to the media,' she continued. 'He got paid to talk about stuff - all these little interviews he was doing after the whole situation in February. 'I hadn't spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did. It was so disappointing to me.' In 2019, she sued her father for using their last name for his company Fenty Entertainment. In the suit, she accused him and his business partner of representing themselves as her agents. She withdrew her lawsuit in 2021, and it's believed that the two came to a settlement. Ronald has battled addiction to crack cocaine in the past and has long been a heavy drinker. Rihanna told Oprah that as a child she witnessed her father physically abuse her mother, once breaking her nose. Then in 2008 Ronald was sent home from her North American tour following his drunken behavior on her tour bus. Ronald has said that Rihanna then froze him out for two years before they reconciled. In 2013 the singer quietly put Ronald through a $58,000 Malibu rehab program to save him from jail after he was arrested during a visit to California. But in 2014 Ronald was thrown out of her Diamond Ball after embarrassing his daughter by getting drunk and falling over on the red carpet. He left California without seeing his daughter on that trip, although the two later reconciled once more. And despite their subsequent legal problems, Rihanna even purchased a large house that he lived in. Rihanna is one of three children Ronald shared with his ex-wife Monica Braithwaite, whom he divorced in 2002. In addition to the Grammy winner, they also have sons Rajad and Rorrey. Ronald also has three other children from previous relationships - Kandy, Samantha, and Jamie. TMZ published a photo of Rihanna's brother Rajad Fenty arriving to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday in a car. His sister Rihanna is said to have been in the vehicle as well however she was not pictured. Despite their conflicts, Rihanna and Ronald appear to have overall remained on good terms. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ronald praised Rihanna for providing him support after he contracted coronavirus. 'My daughter Robyn was checking in on me every day,' he told The Sun at his home in Barbados April 2020, referring to the pop star by her birth name. Ronald said Rihanna did everything she could to help him from her home in the U.S. 'I thought I was going to die to be honest. I have to say, I love you so much, Robyn,' he told the outlet. 'She did so much for me. I appreciate everything she has done.' The pop star even purchased a ventilator and sent it to Ronald in Barbados, but he had yet to use it at the time. In 2022, Ronald told Page Six he was 'ecstatic' to learn Rihanna was expecting her first child with partner A$AP Rocky (the couple are now expecting baby number three, with Rihanna unveiling her pregnancy at the Met Gala). 'I'm so happy that I jumped for joy. I'm still so excited,' Fenty told the outlet. 'Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins' kids…she's going to be a good mom,' her father said. The celebrity father, who spoke via phone from his home in Barbados, said he found Rocky to be 'a very cool guy' after the two got a chance to meet when his daughter brought the rapper home in December 2020. 'I like him,' he added, before revealing that he got the news of Rihanna's pregnancy a day before she and Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) went public with her burgeoning tummy. 'I just got the news from her last night, and she sent me some photos,' he said. 'I'm just over the moon. She's beautiful inside and out.'
