Appeal after rapist fails to return to prison
Neil Trennan, 60, was released for the day from North Sea Camp in Boston on temporary licence, but did not return to his meeting point.
Lincolnshire Police believe Trennan caught a Nottingham-bound train from Boston Train Station at about 10:49 BST.
Det Insp Dave Penney said: "Trennan is a dangerous individual; we need to find him as soon as possible. He is a convicted rapist and may pose a real danger to members of the public."
There were a number of stops or directions Trennan could have taken having boarded the train, the police said.
The force added that he was wearing a black t-shirt and grey bottoms but it is unknown if he would have changed his clothing.
Det Insp Penney said: "Our investigations have been ongoing, they are not contained just to Lincolnshire and we are doing everything we can to locate him."
Police have asked anyone with information to contact them and not to approach him.

Man pushed onto train tracks at Midtown subway station in New York City, police say
A man in New York City was pushed onto the train tracks at a Midtown subway station Saturday night, although he was not struck by a train, according to police. The victim, 44, was standing on the train platform of the 1 train at the 50th Street and 7th Avenue station shortly before 7:50 p.m. when someone pushed him from behind onto the tracks, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department told Fox News Digital. The man was able to climb back onto the platform and did not make any contact with a train, police said. The victim suffered injuries to his face and legs and was transported by EMS to a hospital in stable condition. Police said the suspect fled the scene after pushing the victim onto the tracks. No arrests have been made, as police continue searching for the suspect. The incident remains under investigation. The push at the subway station comes after three people were shot during an early morning shooting in Times Square. A 17-year-old suspect was detained after that incident near the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue at around 1:20 a.m. on Saturday. An 18-year-old woman and two men aged 19 and 65 were wounded in the shooting.

Spokane County Sheriff's Sergeant hit and killed on I-90
The Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said 59-year-old Sergeant Kenneth Salas was struck and killed in the line of duty on I-90 Saturday morning. At around 7:40 a.m., Sergeant Salas stopped to assist with a hay bale that was in the left lane of eastbound I-90 near the Four Lakes exit, according to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) report. Sergeant Salas stopped his patrol car in the left lane with emergency lights on and started to clear the hay from the road. The WSP says an incoming motorcyclist failed to observe the emergency lights and struck and killed Sergeant Salas. The motorcyclist was injured in the crash and was brought to a local hospital. 'Sergeant Salas proudly served the Citizens of Spokane County for over three decades. He was not only a member of the Sheriff's Office, he was also a valued and cherished member of our law enforcement family,' the Spokane County Sheriff's Office wrote. Salas also served in the Air Force for over two decades, as well as in the Washington State Air National Guard, SCSO said. He is survived by his wife and extended family, the sheriff's office wrote.
