The mortal remains of C P Chacko, father of Malayalam actor
Shine Tom Chacko
, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in Tamil Nadu, were brought to Thrissur late Friday night.
As reported by On Manorama, the body arrived at Jubilee Mission Hospital around 10:30 pm and was shifted to the mortuary.
The family had been travelling from their residence in Thrissur to Bengaluru for Chacko's medical check-up when the accident occurred near Paraiyur in Palacode, Dharmapuri district, around 7 am on Friday. C P Chacko, aged 70, died on the spot after the MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) they were in was rammed into a turning truck.

Actor Shine Tom Chacko and his mother, Maria Carmel, were injured in the crash and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thrissur.
Maria sustained serious spinal injuries, while Shine suffered a fracture in his left hand. Both are expected to undergo surgery, pending consultations with medical specialists. Shine's brother Joe John Chacko, and the driver, Anis, also sustained injuries.

The accident occurred when the MPV, reportedly being driven at high speed by Shine's manager Anis, collided with a truck that was taking a left turn. The impact left the front portion of the vehicle mangled, and Chacko succumbed to the crash instantly.

Funeral awaiting daughters' arrival
According to the reports, Shine Tom Chacko's sisters, Sumi and Riya, who are currently abroad, are expected to arrive in Thrissur by early Sunday. The final decision on C P Chacko's funeral arrangements will be made following their return. On the work front, Shibe Tom Chacko was last seen in 'Alappuzha Gymkhana' which turned out to be a superhit. Shine Tom Chacko was also seen in the Ajith starrer 'Good Bad Ugly'.

The ruling DMK in his home state Tamil Nadu has long opposed the three-language policy introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP). The party has repeatedly accused the BJP-led NDA government of attempting to 'impose Hindi', a charge the Centre has denied. Stressing that the imposition of a particular language only hampers the learning process, the 70-year-old said, 'I stand with Punjab. I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra. This is not only place which is resenting imposition.' The Indian cinema stalwart, hugely popular in the south as well as in the north with films such as Nayakan, Thevar Magan, Sadma, Saagar and Chachi 420 that bridged language divides, said if you are truly looking at 'international breakthrough' you must learn one language. He said, 'And English seems to be fair enough. You can do Spanish also, or Chinese. But I think the most practical thing where the shortest route to that is that we have 350 years of English education, slowly but steadily. So when you suddenly replace it, it's all over again. You make unnecessarily many people illiterate, especially in Tamil Nadu. You suddenly force all through Hindi and you tell them that you will not get your job beyond the Vindhyas, then you start wondering, what about the promises? What about my language? Am I not one of the 22 (official languages)? These are the questions that are coming.' Tamil is one of the 22 official languages of the country, apart from Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, Santhali, Maithili and Dogri. After a rap from the court over the remark, the producers said Thug Life will not be released in Karnataka.
