Uttarakhand Govt working to promote green energy: Chief Minister Dhami
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], June 28 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the All India Oil Sector Meet program organised at ONGC Community Centre, Dehradun on Saturday. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working to promote green energy with coordination in the economy, ecology and technology.
'Clean and green energy is being promoted in the state through the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme. Hydroelectric projects like Tehri, Koteshwar, Pipalkoti, Lakhwar, and Vishnugad in the state are playing an important role in establishing Uttarakhand as an energy hub. There are many possibilities in the field of geothermal in the state, on which the state government is continuously working,' the Chief Minister said, according to a press release.
The Chief Minister said that natural resources play an important role in taking any nation forward. Fuel, along with the development of the nation, also fulfills our daily needs. ONGC is playing an important role in India's energy security by contributing 70 per cent of the total production of crude oil and 84 per cent of the natural gas production in the country.
The Chief Minister said that PM Modi has put the resolution of a self-reliant and developed India in front of people. The country is moving forward with the resolution of becoming a developed India by 2047.
He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, petroleum reserves have been established for the energy security of the country.
'Solar energy is also being promoted along with green hydrogen. Work is being done on many alternative sources of energy. All these efforts have made India capable in the field of energy,' he said.
The Chief Minister said that many works have been done in the field of oil and natural gas.
Gas pipelines are being expanded under One Nation, One Grid. The gas distribution system has been expanded and made more convenient than before. Bio CNG plants are being set up. Schemes like the Ujjwala have brought a revolution in society. Many policies have also been implemented for oil production. India has also increased investments in the oil and natural gas sector abroad, the Chief Minister said.
He said ONGC has done many such works in Uttarakhand, which are benefiting the state. (ANI)

Speaking aboard the ISS, Group Captain Shukla also said that it looks from space that no borders exit on Earth. "The first view was of the Earth and after seeing the Earth from outside, the first thought and the first thing that came to mind was that the Earth looks completely one, no border is visible from outside. When we see the Earth from outside, it seems that no border exists, no state exists, no countries exist. We all are part of humanity, and the Earth is our one home, and all of us are in it," he said. Group Captain Shukla, who is second Indian to reach Space, said he feels very proud as India has reached the International Space Station and it collective achievement of the country. He said he is feeling very emotional and happy after the conversation with PM Modi. He urged youth to work hard, never stop trying and said "the sky is never the limit". "I am feeling very emotional and happy after having a conversation with you and 140 crore Indians. I feel very proud as India has reached the International Space Station...I have learnt a lot in the entire journey. This is a collective achievement of the whole nation...I want to send a message to the younger generation that if you work hard, the future of the nation will be good. The sky is never the limit," Group Captain Shukla said. "The message I would like to give our young generation is that India has seen very bold and high dreams and to fulfil those dreams, we need all of you. There is no single way to success, but one thing that is common in every path is that you should never stop trying. If you adopt this basic mantra, then success may come today or tomorrow, but it will definitely come," he added. With India's first human Space mission "Gaganyaan" programme having entered its final phase, Shubhanshu Shukla said he is absorbing all the lessons and experience like a sponge. "I am confident that these lessons will be highly valuable for us and that we will apply them effectively in the coming missions," he said. "India is progressing at a swift will have its stations in plays a significant role in maintaining calmness, as there are many stressful situations during training and launch. "I can say with great pride that for the first time Indian scientists have prepared seven unique experiments which I have brought here to the station. The first experiment, which is scheduled today, is on stem experiment focuses on how we can prevent or delay muscle loss in space by taking a specific supplement. We will also see if these supplements can be beneficial for older people on Earth as well," he said.

'Socialist, secular' were rejected in original Constitution: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi
Haveri (Karnataka) [India], June 29 (ANI): Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has claimed that the words 'socialist' and 'secular' were rejected in the original Constitution by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Speaking to ANI, Joshi on Saturday said, 'The words 'socialist' and 'secular' were rejected in the original Constitution by no less than Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar himself. We respect the Constitution given by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.' The remarks came after RSS general secretary Hosabale suggested reconsidering the inclusion of the terms 'socialist' and 'secular' in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. Hosabale was addressing an event on the 50th anniversary of the emergency, held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre, jointly organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (under the Ministry of Culture) and the Ambedkar International Centre. Speaking at the event, he emphasised that the emergency wasn't just a misuse of power but an attempt to crush civil liberties. Millions were imprisoned, and freedom of the press was suppressed. He remarked that during the emergency, terms like 'socialist' and 'secular' were forcibly inserted into the Constitution - a move that needs to be reconsidered. Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi came down heavily on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying that it doesn't want the Constitution but the Manusmriti. Intensifying his attack, Gandhi said that RSS intended to violate the rights of the marginalised and the poor while enslaving them. 'The mask of RSS has come off again,' he added. 'RSS-BJP doesn't want the Constitution. They want Manusmriti. They aim to strip the marginalised and the poor of their rights and enslave them again. Snatching a powerful weapon like the Constitution from them is their real agenda,' the Congress leader posted on X. 'The Constitution irks them because it speaks of equality, secularism, and justice,' he added. Gandhi asserted that Congress would resist the dreams of RSS to 'snatch' the constitution from the marginalised and the poor. 'RSS should stop dreaming this dream - we will never let them succeed. A female student was allegedly gang-raped inside the South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata's Kasba on Wednesday, June 25. Kolkata police has formed a five-member Special team to investigate the incident.
