INSIDE MEDIA EXCLUSIVE: Big changes for I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here after budget cuts

BUDGET CUTS FOR I'M A CELEBRITY GET ME OUT OF HERE
Expect big changes for the next season of Channel 10's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (IAC). INSIDE MEDIA can exclusively reveal the reality TV show will not be live, but rather pre-recorded.

It turns out the budget for the show has been drastically cut, which is why this decision has been made.
Pre-recording the show means a smaller production team in South Africa as a post-production crew will not be required. When the show is live, crew will work on a 24-hour turnaround with live hostings beamed from location.
INSIDE MEDIA understands the crew is not happy about the changes as the schedule does not allow for any days off, meaning they will be working to a gruelling production timeline. Previously, most crew would get weekends off when the show was not airing.
Earlier this year, it was revealed Channel 10 show three different endings ahead of the IAC finale. This allowed crew to head home a few days early, saving on accommodation and crew costs. Once Sam Thaiday was chosen as the winner by the public, 10 aired that version.
Next year, it must be assumed that public voting will play no part in deciding the winner.
The LIVE factor has always been a key part of IAC and will sorely be missed in the 2026 edition of the show, although INSIDE MEDIA understands the show will still be filmed in South Africa.
Channel 10 has been contacted for comment.
In 2023, Network 10 recorded a $322.1 million loss in the 12 months to December 31 (no financials are available after this date as yet). With declining ratings and revenue, there's no doubt the network is looking for cost savings across the board and going LIVE is an added expense those in control obviously believe they can live without.
Don't get Elton John angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.
It's a lesson the UK Government is learning after the iconic singer went on the attack over plans to exempt technology firms from copyright laws.
'I think the government are just being absolute losers, and I'm very angry about it' Elton John told the BBC (you can see his interview in the video player above).
His comments come after the UK Government rejected proposals from the House of Lords to force AI companies to disclose what material they were using to develop their programmes. The bill would have added transparency requirements to existing legislation, ensuring copyright holders have to give permission for their work to be used.
'They'd be committing theft, thievery on the highest scale. And for young people or for everyone who's creative.
'The fact that AI could run rampant without (permission), you have to ask for approval and you have to have transparency. It's quite simple. If someone wants to use your song, ask, and then you have to have the transparency and how is it being used.'
And he's right. As I reported in a previous edition of INSIDE MEDIA, companies like OpenAI say they need access to copyrighted material as the very future of artificial intelligence hangs in the balance.
And it looks like Sir Elton is ready to fight the government on this one.
'We'll fight all the way. I mean, if it takes going to the court or whatever, we will fight this,' he said.
Every other company has to pay for research and development – they can't just freely use other people's work. Why are AI companies any different?
If they don't have a business model that can't succeed without stealing, then they don't have a successful business model.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHO DOES THAT VOICE!
Voice over artists are a special breed of people who get paid to a lot of money to deliver messages to you through ads, reality TV shows, and on hold announcements.
Recently, comedian Darren Sanders met the woman who you might have heard saying 'Welcome to Optus, the number you have dialled has been disconnected'. When Joey Moore did her recognisable line, the live studio audience went crazy.
It's well worth a watch in the video player above.
I've met many voice-over artists through the years, and you would never guess what they actually look like, as very rarely does the voice match the face. It's a specialised craft that AI will find hard to replicate. Yes, AI can say the words, but only a human artist can interpret the meaning and follow direction to enhance what it says on the page.
And no, I'm not an AI Luddite. I believe AI plays an important role – I just also happen to believe that the companies that will make a lot of money from these products shouldn't be able to steal from others to achieve those goals.
You can find more of Darren's interviews and clips on his TikTok page.

M3GAN 2.0 star Violet McGraw is 'waiting' to do a big action movie

Violet McGraw has been craving a role in an action film since 'M3GAN'. The 14-year-old actress - who played Cady James in the 2022 artificial intelligence horror movie - is delighted that 'M3GAN 2.0' is packed with more thrilling action scenes, but she is still desperate to land a role in a big action blockbuster where she can perform some breathtaking stunts. Asked if making 'M3GAN 2.0' felt different to creating the original film because of the more intense scenes, Violet told SFX magazine: "Definitely. "Everyone got older; Amie [Donald, who plays 'M3GAN'] got older. It was a different vibe, but with the same family, and same crew. "It made me want to do an action film so bad. "I'm waiting patiently." Violt originally wanted to be a stunt person, and so she would jump at the chance to star in some action scenes. She explained: "I love doing stunts, so whenever I get a chance to do my own stunts, I just get so happy. "I used to want to be a stunt person." 'M3GAN 2.0' picks up two years after Cady moved in with her robotics expert aunt Gemma Forrester, after her parents Ryan and Nicole, and Gemma's robot M3GAN went on a killing spree. Gemma rebuilds 'M3GAN' and makes her more lethal to fend off a military robot called Amelia, who is trying to cause an AI takeover. And when Violet saw the upgraded M3GAN, she was left stunned by how "insane" the robot looked and acted. She said: "It had been a long time since I'd seen her, but she's just so upgraded - it's insane. "She's faster, stronger and more lethal than before. There's a picture of me when I first saw the 2.0 doll. And I was like, 'Wow!' "Your eyes get so confused because you think you're talking to a human being. "It feels like there's a real living person in front of me. And it basically is." The global success of 'M3GAN' caused "so many" people to dress up as M3GAN for Halloween and knock on Violet's door during trick or treating. She said: "For Halloween in 2023, there were so many M3GANs coming to my door to trick or treat. "I was just so grateful that I got to be a part of such a cool film. "'M3GAN' is such a big part of my life."

The Project hosts awkwardly fail to address ‘cancellation'

Don't miss out on the headlines from TV. Followed categories will be added to My News. It was one of the biggest entertainment stories in Australia on Thursday - The Project is reportedly being axed. While no official word has been given from Channel 10, viewers expected the hosts of Friday's episode to make a formal announcement following widespread reports the show would be ending after years on the air. Despite reported news of the cancellation spreading, when the show aired on Friday evening there was zero mention of it. 'That is it for tonight,' said host Georgie Tunny at the end of the show. 'Please thank Max Rushden, Susie, and we will see you Sunday.' The hosts of Friday's episode of The Project refused to address reports the show is ending. Picture: Channel 10. 'I heard the project is dead?' remarked on viewer on the show's official Twitter page. 'Wait … is it still on?!' questioned another. The confusion comes as viewers delivered their damning verdict on The Project reportedly being replaced by a new show. Social media was littered with thousands of comments from Aussie viewers who appeared glad to see the back of the once well-received panel show. 'That is the best news I have heard in a while' remarked one viewer, with another commenting: 'Thanks God. No one on there was even remotely funny.' 'I wasn't going to have a beer tonight but after hearing this I will have a few,' joked another. Despite the wave of support for its reported axing, some fans of the show did share their upset at it disappearing from screens. Everything seemed to be business as usual on Friday's show. Picture: Channel 10 'I'll be sorry to see it go,' wrote one on Facebook, with another agreeing, adding: 'It's become an institution, what a shame!' Reports first emerged on Thursday that a yet-to-be-revealed new show will usher in a new format that will transform The Project's current timeslot. The insider claimed that development of the show has been underway for quite some time and that it could be launched as soon as next month. It will mark a huge shift for the timeslot, with the new show thought to be set to run four times a week for thirty minutes, a big change from The Project's six hour-long shows a week. It's currently unclear what Channel 10 will air during the other half an hour. has reached out to Channel 10 for comment. Once an iconic mainstay of current affairs television Down Under, the show has struggled in recent years to keep hold of its audience as viewing habits have shifted from live free-to-air TV to streaming. Ratings for the beloved panel show, which made its debut in 2009, have halved in recent years and sparked numerous rumours about its demise which Channel 10 have previously denied. Ten's new recuits The rumours around The Project's impending demise came just days after it was reported that three Channel 7 reports have jumped ship to 10. Veteran investigative reporter and Spotlight producer Denham Hitchcock started at the Paramount-owned network on Monday telling his social media following, 'Well here we go. I've switched channels.' Former foreign correspondent Amelia Brace and Senior 7News Sydney reporter Bill Hogan, are also on their way over to Channel 10, according to The Australian. Brace was reportedly offered a $50,000 pay rise to move over from the troubled Channel 7 and is said to be working on a new, long-form investigative offering established by 10's head of broadcast news Martin White. Her two former Seven colleaugues, Hitchcock and Hogan, are also believed to have been recuited for the same show which is set to rival Nine's 60 Minutes and the ABC's Four Corners.
