Tenants will be moving in soon because a new Clark County Land Bank program is transforming old, rundown properties into new affordable housing solutions.

When the porches are built and the cement driveways harden, new residents will call these properties home for a more affordable price.
Springfield resident Nicolas told News Center 7's Amber Jenkins that he's watched people settle into Springfield for eight years.
As the population grows and housing becomes scarce, the rent is going up.
'Now it's so high. I think it's very difficult for people right now to get a house,' Nicolas said.

Foster care agency begins donor-funded building expansion, increases access to services
An area foster care agency is breaking ground on building expansions to accommodate its growth. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Isaiah's Place, located at 61 Stanfield Road in Troy, announced on social media Friday morning that they are working with Level MB Construction on building expansions. 'Isaiah's Place has been one of the fastest-growing foster care agencies in the state of Ohio for the last year and a half. Because of this, we have used every square inch of our building to make room for offices, trainings, meetings, Child Advocacy observations and investigations, as well as therapy rooms for our families,' a spokesperson for Isaiah's Place said in the post. The addition includes a large art training room, meeting rooms, observation rooms, and restrooms that are all accessible to individuals with disabilities. Kohl's to close Butler County e-Fulfillment Center; over 700 employees impacted
Kohl's will be shutting down its e-Fulfillment Center in Butler County. It's a decision that'll impact more than 700 employees. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) sent to state and local officials, a human resources leader at Kohl's said its facility at 3500 Salzman Road will permanently close on October 31, 2025. While the facility has a Middletown address, it is located in Monroe. All employees have already been informed of the closure. The notice states the last day for employment will be September 12, 2025. 'It is possible that one or more employees will remain actively employed for a limited time after the Facility is closed to assist with administrative tasks related to its closure,' the WARN notice said. 'Of those employees who remain with the company to assist with administrative tasks related to closure, all will be separated by October 31, 2025.' Kohl's said a union doesn't represent the employees, and there are no bumping rights. News Center 7 reported earlier this year that Kohl's closed 27 underperforming stores across the country, including two in Ohio, both of which were in the Cincinnati area.
