Elon Musk now wants you to eat at a Tesla Diner, and it opens today
What's Musk said? Things kicked off on July 20 when Musk re-posted a short video clip showing a drone shot of the Tesla diner at 7001 Santa Monica Blvd, Hollywood, California.

The futuristic-looking building appears to have al-fresco seating on its roof and two huge screens in its parking lot, which itself is lined with Tesla superchargers.
Musk followed up the teaser video on July 21, with a more information – confirming that the 'retro futuristic diner' has the potential to expand to cities around the world if the initial location proves popular.
If our retro-futuristic diner turns out well, which I think it will, @Tesla will establish these in major cities around the world, as well as at Supercharger sites on long distance routes.
An island of good food, good vibes & entertainment, all while Supercharging! https://t.co/zmbv6GfqKf — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 21, 2025
This is important because: Today, July 21, is opening day for the Tesla Diner – the first of its kind dining and charging location from an auto manufacturer. It potentially sets a blueprint for future charging locations, not only from Tesla, but possibly the wider EV market.
The diner has been at least four years in the making, as we first reported on trademark filings for a Tesla restaurant back in 2021. The auto maker had to wait until 2023 before the City of LA granted approval for the first diner to be built, and two years on it's finally ready to open its doors.
According to Sawyer Merritt, the Tesla Diner features two 45-foot LED movie screens for patrons to enjoy a drive-in movie, 80 Tesla Superchargers (V4), and a menu which includes burgers, wings, hot dogs, fries, milkshakes and more.
Why should I care? Tesla has invested heavily in the EV charging ecosystem, with 30,000 superchargers across 2,500 locations stretching through all 50 states. Yet, range anxiety and worries over charger availability remain for both current EV owners and those considering the switch.
Continued investment in charging locations, not only by increasing the number of charges available, but by also creating spaces which are enjoyable to spend 20 to 30 minutes of your day, is only a positive thing for EV owners.
The arrival of the Tesla Diner also introduces some new in-car features for Tesla owners too. Drive up to the restaurant and you'll be able to sync the audio and video from the giant screens to the speakers and screens in your Tesla. Plus you'll be able to order your food directly from your Tesla's infotainment display.
Ok, so what's next? As Musk suggested in his post, depending on how the Tesla Diner performs, the company might look to roll out the concept to more countries around the world.

Equinor reported a net operating income of USD 5.72 billion and a net income of USD 1.32 billion. Adjusted net income* was USD 1.67 billion, leading to adjusted earnings per share* of USD 0.64. Solid financial results Strong operational performance and production growth Higher US onshore gas production capturing higher prices Stable cost and capex in line with guidance Balance sheet remains robust through lower price environment Strategic progress Delivered key milestones on Johan Castberg, Johan Sverdrup phase 3 and Fram South/Troll Announced divestment of the Peregrino field in Brazil for USD 3.5 billion Financial close of Baltyk 2 & 3 offshore wind projects in Poland Empire Wind 1 project development back in execution. Impairments driven by regulatory changes for future offshore wind projects leading to a loss of future synergies on South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, and increased exposure to tariffs Capital distribution Ordinary cash dividend of USD 0.37 per share, third tranche of share buy-back of up to USD 1.265 billion Expected total capital distribution of USD 9 billion in 2025 Anders Opedal, President and CEO of Equinor ASA: 'We are on track to deliver production growth in 2025 in line with our guidance. Strong operational performance and Johan Castberg reaching plateau are key contributors this quarter. In today's volatile markets we stay committed to being a long-term energy provider to Europe.' 'Last year, we strengthened our onshore gas portfolio in the US and this has created substantial value this quarter, with a fifty percent increase in gas production at prices almost eighty percent higher than the same time last year.' 'We continue to progress our portfolio in renewables, and the Empire Wind 1 project development is back in execution. We have reached financial close for the Baltyk 2 & 3 offshore wind projects in Poland at favourable terms, contributing to strong returns.' Solid production Equinor delivered a total equity production of 2,096 mboe per day in the second quarter, up 2% from 2,048 mboe in the same quarter last year. On the Norwegian continental shelf the operational performance was strong. New production from the Johan Castberg field reaching plateau and Halten East contributed. Together, this offset natural decline, impact from the turnaround at Hammerfest LNG and maintenance at the Kollsnes processing plant. The acquisition of additional interests in US onshore assets in 2024, and higher production from these assets, contributed to a 28% increase in oil and gas production from US in the second quarter, compared to the same period last year. The production from the international upstream segment, excluding US, is down compared to the same quarter last year, due to exits from Nigeria and Azerbaijan in 2024. Higher production in Brazil, and new wells in Argentina and Angola, contributed positively. The total power generation from the renewable portfolio was 0.83 TWh. The increase compared to second quarter last year is due to ramp up of power production from Dogger Bank A and new production from the onshore wind farm Lyngsåsa in Sweden which was acquired in first quarter 2025. In the quarter, Equinor completed 5 offshore exploration wells on the NCS with 2 commercial discoveries. Strong financial results Equinor delivered an adjusted operating income* of USD 6.53 billion and USD 1.74 billion after tax* in the second quarter of 2025. The results are affected by lower liquids prices, which were partially offset by higher gas prices and higher production. The reported net operating income of USD 5.72 billion is down from USD 7.66 billion in the same quarter last year. This is impacted by an impairment of USD 955 million due to regulatory changes causing loss of synergies from future offshore wind projects and increased exposure to tariffs. Of this, USD 763 million is related to Empire Wind 1/South Brooklyn Marine Terminal project and the remainder is related to the Empire Wind 2 lease. Equinor realised a European gas price of USD 12.0 per mmbtu and realised liquids prices were USD 63.0 per bbl in the second quarter. Adjusted operating and administrative expenses* are stable from the same quarter last year. Strong operational performance generated cash flows provided by operating activities, before taxes paid and working capital items, of USD 9.17 billion for the second quarter. Equinor paid two NCS tax instalments totalling USD 6.85 billion in the quarter. From August, the payments of tax on the NCS will be changed to ten installments annually, and for third quarter Equinor expects to pay two installments of NOK 19.7 billion each. Cash flow from operations after taxes paid* ended at USD 1.94 billion. Organic capital expenditure* was USD 3.40 billion for the quarter, and total capital expenditures were USD 3.58 billion. The net debt to capital employed adjusted ratio* was 15.2% at the end of the second quarter, compared to 6.9% at the end of the first quarter of 2025. The calculation of net debt ratio includes the effect of the Norwegian state's share of the share buy-back, at USD 4.26 billion paid in July. Strategic progress Since the end of the last quarter, Equinor progressed projects to facilitate long-term production and value creation on the Norwegian continental shelf. The plan for development and operation on Fram South was submitted and final investment decision was made on Johan Sverdrup phase 3 in the North Sea which are expected to increase the recoverable volumes from the field by 40-50 million boe. After less than three months in production, the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea reached plateau on 17 June. The same month, an oil discovery estimated at approximately 9-15 million barrels was made in the area and can contribute with additional reserves for the field. Equinor and Centrica signed a long-term gas sales agreement of 55 TWh of natural gas per year for a period of 10 years, demonstrating the importance of long-term gas supplies from the NCS to support the UK's energy security. Equinor continues to high-grade its international portfolio. In the quarter, the sale of the Peregrino field in Brazil for USD 3.5 billion was announced. Equinor will focus on the start-up of the Bacalhau field expected on stream later in 2025 and progressing the Raia gas project. New exploration acreage in the Santos basin was awarded. Financial close was announced on the Baltyk 2 and Baltyk 3 offshore wind projects with financing packages totalling EUR 6 billion. The wind projects are located offshore Poland with an expected total capacity of 1.4 GW. Competitive capital distribution The board of directors has decided a cash dividend of USD 0.37 per share for the second quarter of 2025, in line with communication at the Capital Markets Update in February. Expected total capital distribution for 2025 is USD 9 billion, including a share buy-back programme of up to USD 5 billion. The board has decided to initiate a third tranche of the share buy-back programme of up to USD 1.265 billion. The tranche will commence on 24 July and end no later than 27 October 2025. The second tranche of the share buy-back programme for 2025 was completed on 17 July 2025 with a total value of USD 1.265 billion. All share buy-back amounts include shares to be redeemed by the Norwegian state. – – – *For items marked with an asterisk throughout this report, see Use and reconciliation of non-GAAP financial measures in the Supplementary disclosures. – – – Further information from: Investor relationsBård Glad Pedersen, Senior vice president Investor relations,+47 918 01 791 (mobile) PressSissel Rinde, Vice president Media relations,+47 412 60 584 (mobile) This information is subject to the disclosure requirements pursuant to Section 5-12 of the Norwegian Securities Trading Act Attachments Equinor Second quarter 2025 Financial Statements and Review CFO presentation - Second quarter 2025 resultsError in retrieving data Sign in to access your portfolio Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data Error in retrieving data

David Geffen's Estranged Husband, Donovan Michaels, Sues Mogul for Breach of Contract
David Geffen's divorce drama has made its way into the public eye after his estranged husband, Donovan Michaels, sued the entertainment mogul for breach of contract. The suit, which was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, accuses Geffen, 82, of exploiting a 'vulnerable, marginalized young gay Black man' as a 'wealthy, powerful white gay billionaire who believed himself untouchable.' More from The Hollywood Reporter David Geffen Files for Divorce From Donovan Michaels Eddie Rosenblatt, Veteran Geffen Records Executive, Dies at 89 Children of Robbie Robertson Take His Widow to Court Over Claims to His Estate The Hollywood Reporter reported in May that Geffen filed for divorce from Michaels, 32, after less than two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. The mogul tied the knot with Michaels, a former go-go dancer whose real name is David Armstrong, in 2023 in a private Beverly Hills ceremony. While the pair kept their relationship private, details surrounding their relationship have now been revealed in Michaels' suit. The complaint states that the pair met on the dating website, It also accuses Geffen of paying Michaels $10,000 for sex the night that they met, and, 'like the plot of the movie Trading Places, began treating Michaels as a living social experiment — a trophy to show off to his wealthy friends, under the guise of benevolence.' According to the suit, Geffen knew about Michaels' troubled past — as he grew up in the foster care system — but 'rather than respond with empathy or offer genuine support, Geffen saw Michaels as an object of exploitation.' Over time, the duo's paid sexual relationship developed into a partnership, the lawsuit states, as 'Geffen told Michaels he loved him and the two would treat one another as life partners, share all assets equally, and Geffen would support Michaels financially for life. Michaels gave up his dreams — his modeling career, his independence — to dedicate himself fully to this promise.' Geffen and Michaels got married in 2023 with no prenup, according to the complaint, but 'what Michaels did not know at the time was that this was nothing more than a transaction to Geffen.' Throughout their marriage, the mogul allegedly 'critiqued every aspect of Michaels' appearance and carefully controlled Michaels with respect to all aspects of his body hygiene,' requiring him to get 'painful laser treatments and dental treatments.' The suit also states that Michaels was met with 'back-handed insults and put-downs' about his 'past and lack of sophistication.' In the complaint, Geffen is also accused of demeaning 'sexual access at will, including acts Michaels found degrading.' He also allegedly supplied Michaels with drugs and alcohol as 'tools of coercion — lowering his resistance and increasing his dependency.' This led Michaels to seek treatment after suffering from addiction. Following treatment, Michaels claims he tried to make amends with Geffen, but that he 'did not want a healthier Michaels. He wanted control and submission. He wanted to be the savior, the white knight, and the 'top.'' After Geffen filed for divorce in April 2025, the suit alleges Geffen 'almost immediately breached the oral agreements by denying Michaels full financial support.' A few months later, in June 2025, the lawsuit states that 'while Geffen was hosting his super-wealthy celebrity friends on his superyacht in Venice, Italy, preparing to attend the Bezos [Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez] wedding, he demanded that Michaels immediately vacate the New York residence, which would effectively render Michaels homeless.' 'In addition to evicting Michaels, Geffen also cut him off from his status quo financial support, making it impossible for Michaels to secure an appropriate living situation and provide for his daily necessities,' according to the complaint. THR reached out to Geffen's attorney for comment. Geffen, who has a net worth over $9.1 billion, per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, landed at No. 371 on the list of the world's wealthiest people as of July 22. The mogul also co-founded the label Asylum Records in 1971 before later founding Geffen Records and DGC Records. His motion picture company, Geffen Pictures, also produced a handful of films and TV shows, including Personal Best, Beetlejuice, Interview with the Vampire and Little Shop of Horrors. Then in 1994, he co-founded DreamWorks SKG with Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, before DreamWorks Animation spun off to form a publicly traded company a decade later. Veteran Wall Street strategist reveals stocks likely to rally next
Veteran Wall Street strategist reveals stocks likely to rally next originally appeared on TheStreet. The stock market has produced big returns since April 9, when President Trump reversed course and paused many reciprocal tariffs previously announced on April 2. The tariff time-out allowed investors to revisit forecasts for the US economy and corporate revenue and profits, which had mostly been lowered since February, when the first tariffs were enacted against Mexico and Canada. The potential for trade negotiations to reduce the impact of tariffs on businesses, limiting the impact on inflation and earnings growth, fueled optimism that has driven the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite up 25% and 34%, respectively. 💵💰💰💵 The gains are impressive, but not every stock has participated equally. Many of the top-performing stocks behind the big move higher are concentrated within the information technology sector, and most boast market caps on the larger side of the spectrum. As a result, while those stocks have arguably rallied to levels that may suggest overbought or overvalued, others could still be bargains. According to long-time Wall Street veteran strategist Jim Paulsen, if down-and-out stocks start to win over investors, it may fuel the next leg higher in the S&P 500. Before retiring in 2022, Paulsen had been professionally involved in the stock market since 1983. His career includes being the Chief Investment Strategist at Wells Capital Management, now Allspring Global Investments, a money management firm with $465 billion in assets under management. Do tariffs matter to stocks anymore? A few months ago, worries were that President Trump's tariffs would either be passed on to consumers or dent corporate profit margins. Although many tariffs were paused until August 1, President Trump's line-in-the-sand date for enforcement, 25% tariffs still apply to Canada, Mexico, and autos. There's also a 10% baseline tariff on all imports and a 30% tariff on China. The existence of those tariffs means concerns remain, but economic data suggest that tariffs have yet to cause widespread inflation, and analyst earnings forecasts have recently latest Consumer Price Index inflation (CPI) figures peg June inflation at 2.7%, up from 2.3% in April but down from 3% in December. Moreover, wholesale inflation, as measured by the Producer Price Index (PPI), is relatively tame, suggesting companies aren't under too much pressure to raise customer prices. As long as inflation remains below 3%, investors may conclude that the US economy will avoid the worst-case recession scenario widely considered during the S&P 500's 19% sell-off earlier this year. With inflation risks lessened, investor focus shifts to unemployment and what it may mean for the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. The unemployment rate is currently 4.1%, up from 3.4% in 2023. Will the Fed cut interest rates, supporting the stock market? The Fed's dual mandate is low unemployment and inflation, two often competing goals. Higher rates lower inflation but cause unemployment to increase, while lower rates cause the opposite outcome. This contradictory mandate has led the Fed to leave its Fed Funds Rate unchanged in 2025 at a range of 4.25% to 4.5% while it awaits more clarity on jobs and inflation. If inflation remains controlled but job losses increase, the odds that the Fed will reduce interest rates this year will the CME's widely watched FedWatch tool puts the probability of a quarter-percentage point rate cut at the next meeting on July 30 below 3%. However, chances for a dovish interest rate cut in September are a more market-friendly 59%. Goldman Sachs, one of the most prominent Wall Street research firms, believes the Fed will cut three times before year's end, beginning in September. Household and business spending will likely increase if rates fall, driving corporate revenue and profitability. This will result in upward earnings estimates that support higher stock prices. Morgan Stanley already sees this happening. According to a research note from Mike Wilson, its Chief Investment Officer, S&P 500 earnings per share revisions breadth "continues to accelerate higher (now +7%, up from -25% in April), helping to confirm our constructive view on the earnings backdrop." The recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act further supports the potential for corporate profits to surprise on the upside. The OBBBA contains income tax cuts for individuals and businesses that could stimulate investment and purchases. Veteran strategist says laggards could become leaders in next stock market run The size of the stock market's rally might have you thinking that all stocks have made major headway, but that's not the case. Many stocks haven't risen nearly as much as the broader market, which could create an opportunity for investors. "This has been a very narrow bull market," said Paulsen in an interview with TheStreet. "Today, we've got more than 76% of the sectors relative P/E (price to earnings ratio) at or below average within the S&P 500." Paulsen evaluated historical P/E ratios back to 1990, and he thinks that the number of sectors with below-average P/Es means those stocks could do a lot of catching up. "You can look at the market being narrow as a sign of a weak market, as some do, or you could look at it as a sign that there's so many parts of this marketplace that have yet to be used in this bull market. And maybe they could catch fire in the latter stages here and keep this stock market alive," said Paulsen. Paulsen is particularly intrigued by small-cap stocks, which have been laggards. "The Fed's getting close to easing... I think that's going to awaken a lot of parts of the stock market we haven't seen yet," said Paulsen. "And I think the biggest one of the biggest beneficiaries is going to be small-cap stocks." The Russell 2000 is only up 1% year to date, trailing the 7% return for the S&P 500 and the 10% return of the technology-laden Nasdaq 100 index. Historically, small caps have done best when interest rates fall, making financing expansion plans cheaper. "I know they've been left for dead. And I even have trouble saying or recommending them because they've been dead for so long," said Paulsen. "But I do think it's been tied to Fed policy. And if that changes, I think that's going to change right into the sweet spot of small-cap stocks." If Paulsen is correct, and rates fall, causing small caps to fall, investors may want to keep tabs on the Russell 2000 ETF () .Veteran Wall Street strategist reveals stocks likely to rally next first appeared on TheStreet on Jul 23, 2025 This story was originally reported by TheStreet on Jul 23, 2025, where it first appeared.
