Holding a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK, Hamood Al Alawi brings over two decades of diverse leadership experience across the government and private sectors, with a strong track record in asset management, corporate transformation and commercial performance. He has held senior roles with Shell International in the Netherlands, led flagship-cost efficiency initiatives for Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), and served as a member of the Executive leadership team at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, where he headed a unit responsible for an OMR 1 billion strategic project.
In 2024, Hamood Al Alawi was appointed to lead the transformation of Oman Airports Management Company, where, during a brief but impactful tenure, the company delivered record financial performance, including the highest EBITDA since its establishment, as well as a comprehensive restructuring programme to enhance efficiency and capacity. As Deputy CEO of Oman Air, he will play a key role in driving the day-to-day activities of the transformation, working directly with the CEO and senior leadership to facilitate change and enable the delivery of performance targets which ensure the airline's long-term commercial viability, financial sustainability, and operational excellence.

Farmers forum recommends building integrated system to enhance green production
Ibra: A farmer's forum held in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiyah on Thursday stressed the need to build an integrated agricultural system to enhance green production and activate innovation in the farming sector in the Sultanate of Oman. The participants affirmed that the envisaged system would contribute to national food security and keep pace with trends in sustainable development. The forum was organised by the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate's branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in partnership with Oman Agricultural Association and a number of private sector companies. The forum took the theme of "Establishing a safe agricultural environment to bolster food security". The forum included three working papers. The first addressed the national significance of food security; the second focused on the human aspect of maintaining food security as a life-sustaining factor; and the third highlighted the importance of adopting an integrated pest control management system as a means of securing the safety of agricultural products. The forum was held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Nasser Al Maskari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of North A'Sharqiyah Governorate's branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and attended by government officials, farmers, business owners and stakeholders in agricultural affairs.

The interns—Raghad Al Shidhany and Mahdi Mirza from GUtech, and Saleh Al Ghassani from Arab Open University—will rotate across departments such as Sales, Marketing, Leasing, Rentals, Finance, International Pricing, Artificial Intelligence, and Partner Relations.
