Liam Payne's sister's heartbreaking tribute on 15th anniversary of One Direction

Singer Liam Payne's grieving sister has shared a heartbreaking tribute as she marked 15 years since One Direction were formed on the X Factor
Liam Payne's sister posted a heartbreaking tribute to the late singer as she marked 15 years since One Direction formed. The singer tragically died in October aged 31 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Argentina.

He found fame on the X Factor, where he was put together with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan to form One Direction. Liam's sister Ruth shared a photo of Liam with his siblings and parents in the same place, years apart.

They posed for a family snap with a teenage Liam, as well as when he was much younger. Alongside the touching photos, Ruth shared: "Liam this one's for you

"15 years of the 'I'm in a boyband' text, where Dad ran downstairs to tell us all, absolutely gutted at the time that you'd been sent home again, that you'd been put in a boyband.
"Your love of 1D never stopped, you were so proud of what you'd achieved and part of the love remaining, guiding us through this darkness is the love of your fans who have loved and supported you for 15years, they are always so proud of you, I hope you can see it.
"Your love and support for the other boys never stopped, you were first to congratulate about their successes after the band, you always sang their songs and spoke of them and your memories, they were the brothers you'd always wanted.

"I have my favourite memories of your band, and going through my 20s watching your success with such pride. One of my favourite memories is when we were at an after party and Souts was telling us about the 'story of my life' video idea, and you said 'ask him what photo of us we're using he told us and I turned to you and said but nicola's got a mullet and Ive got black hair in it?!' And you laughed and said 'I know' absolutely howling that youd got us to agree to reenact one of our worst photos
"We had the best time filming that video with you. Everyday in your company was always tonic for my soul, no matter where in the world we were. From our dance shows, to small theatres, arenas to stadiums, incredible memories.
"Another memory Ive thought about today, was when we flew to lA to watch your show and due to customs missed the first night we were meant to be at the show, when you walked into my hotel room on the nighttime, you woke me up to say hi and have a quick catch up and as you were leaving said well Ru, you've missed David Beckham tonight' picked up your gfs bags and left the room, leaving 22 year old me processing the heartbreak of missing David Beckham!
"1D time will always have such a fond place in my heart, you worked your arse off for the band, consistently showing how incredible you are. This year, today, isn't how it used to be, I have so many fan tributes to show you and I know you'd be blown away by the love 15years on.
"But as I light my Wednesday candle, and speak to you with heart, I hope you're somewhere sat comfy, laptop on, listening to your bands music from start to finish, smiling. Love always Liam, Once in a lifetime, you were mine."

'Panama Playlists' leak exposes JD Vance's favourite boy bands

Eight years after the Panama Papers leaked 11.5million financial documents of offshore bank accounts, the Panama Playlists have surfaced. The Panama Playlists, claiming to expose the favourite music of politicians, celebrities and other public figures on Spotify, may not be too damaging to the individuals. But it could be embarrassing. That is, embarrassing only if loving boy bands is something to be ashamed of. Everyone loves the Backstreet Boys, One Direction and Justin Bieber, right? US Vice President JD Vance seemingly does. Featured on Vance's playlists are 'I Want It That Way' by the 1990s band Backstreet Boys, 'What Makes You Beautiful' by the 2010s pop band One Direction and 'One Time' by Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber, according to the Panama Playlists. Vance apparently also really likes 'Get Lucky' by the electronic music duo Daft Punk, 'You Are a Tourist' by '90s rock band Death Cab for Cutie, and 'San Francisco' by alternative rock band The Mowgli's, and has them in two of his playlists named 'Making Dinner' and 'Gold On The Ceiling'. The anonymous person behind the playlists claims to have been scraping the public figures' accounts since summer 2024, and know what songs they've played and how many times as well as their live listening feed. 'I found the real Spotify accounts of celebrities, politicians, and journalists. Many use their real names. With a little sleuthing, I could say with near-certainty: yep, this is them,' states the Panama Playlists website. 'Heard of the Panama Papers? That exposed offshore bank accounts. This is about onshore vibes.' The site, which went live on Wednesday, is not affiliated with Spotify or any of the individuals analysed. Spotify playlists in their default setting are public, for those who did not know, and only public information was gleaned for the Panama Playlists. Its eagle-eared researcher is convinced that the figures listed on the site are who they are, due to 'lots of signals', and provided the US attorney general and White House press secretary as cases in point. 'An example is Pam Bondi. Her longtime partner is John Wakefield, and her profile has an old playlist called 'john' and an old shared playlist with a user named 'John Wakefield,' so that gives me a lot of confidence it is her account,' the researcher told the New York Post. 'Karoline Leavitt's profile has a playlist called 'Baby Shower,' and she had a baby a month after the playlist was made.' Below are the Panama Playlists of a handful of individuals highlighted on the site – ranked somewhat in order of how interesting they are. US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who leads the Justice Department, has a self-titled playlist filled with Top 40 hits including Nelly's 'Hot In Herre', Adele's 'Hello', Selena Gomez's 'Kill Em With Kindness', 'Hands To Myself', Black Eyed Peas' 'I Gotta Feeling', Mike Posner's 'Cooler Than Me', and USHER, Lil Jon and Ludacris' 'YEAH!' Trump's White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has a 'Baby Shower' poppy playlist that includes Beyoncé's 'Run the World (Girls)', Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)', Lee Ann Womack's 'I Hope You Dance', Meghan Trainor's 'Mom' and Aretha Franklin's 'Respect'. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's 'My Shazam Tracks' playlist is a mixed bag including Dixon Dallas' 'Good Lookin', RÜFÜS DU SOL's 'Until the Sun Needs To Rise', David Guetta and OneRepublic's 'I Don't Wanna Wait', and Missy Elliot's 'Get Ur Freak On'. Disgraced FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has a mix of R&B, electronic and indie music in his 'loud' and 'soft' playlists including The Weeknd's 'Save Your Tears', Sia's 'Unstoppable', Bon Iver's 'Blindsided' and Frank Ocean's 'Bad Religion'. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in his 'Hodge-podge mix' playlist has some classics including Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire', Billy Joel's 'Piano Man', and a-ha's 'Take On Me', and a curveball – Miley Cyrus' 'Party In the U.S.A.' New York Times privacy and technology reporter Kashmir Hill's 'writing music' playlist features a handful of respected European artists including Mogwai ('Wake Up and Go Berserk' and 'I Do Have Weapons'), Aphex Twin ('Avril 14th'), and Nils Frahm ('Some'). Comedian and TV host Seth Meyers' 'Porch Jams' playlist suggest he's partial to soft rock with Benji Hughes' 'Vibe so Hot', Jackson Browne's 'The Fuse', and Lucinda Williams' 'Can't Let Go'. Meta's chief AI officer Alexandr Wang is a fan of country and folk, with his top songs being Tyler Childers' 'Feathered Indians', Jack Van Cleaf and Zach Bryan's 'Rattlesnake', and Zach Bryan's 'Blue Jean Baby'. Jack Osbourne's 10 words of comfort to sister Kelly at Ozzy's funeral

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's son, Jack, comforted his sister Kelly during the Black Sabbath star's funeral procession in Birmingham Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's son, Jack, reportedly whispered 10 comforting words to his sister, Kelly, during the procession down Broad Street in Birmingham for the Black Sabbath star's funeral. The Prince of Darkness died aged 76 on July 22, just weeks after performing his farewell concert. ‌ Huge crowds of fans took to the streets of the singer's hometown on July 30 to pay their respects. Meanwhile, his family accompanied the procession in a car. ‌ In moving scenes, the procession stopped outside the Black Sabbath bridge, where the frontman's wife and children stepped out of their cars to lay down roses wrapped in black paper among the sea of tributes left by fans. It comes as Sharon Osbourne broke down in tears at Ozzy's funeral in heartbreaking scenes. ‌ As she broke down in tears, Sharon was comforted by children Jack, Kelly and Amiee. The grandchildren of Sharon and Ozzy were also close by for the family moment. Lipreader Nicola Hickling revealed what Jack whispered to sister Kelly in order to comfort her during the emotionally-charged day in Birmingham. ‌ Nicola told The Mirror US, Jack spoke 10 words to his older sister: "Come on now, Dad wanted us to celebrate his life." Jack and Kelly featured in the reality programme, The Osbournes, on MTV in the early 2000s alongside their parents, bringing them into the spotlight. Sister Aimee didn't want to take part in the show and wanted a private life so left the home at a young age. Sharon moved fans to tears when she emerged during the procession this week. ‌ The music manager and talk show host, who was married to the musician for more than four decades, became emotional as she stepped out of a car to view the hundreds of floral tributes and balloons laid around the Black Sabbath bench. The former X Factor judge, 72, was helped out of the first vehicle in the cortege by her and Ozzy's son Jack, who joined her at the event along with their daughters Aimee and Kelly – who all raised their hands in a peace sign while paying their respects. The family members wiped away tears at the bench as they inspected tributes, with members of the crowd shouting 'we love you Ozzy'. ‌ Sharon and her children carried a pink rose, wrapped in black paper tied with a purple ribbon, that they laid on top of the many other floral tributes that sat next to a poster of the star, which said 'Birmingham will always love you'. Sharon kissed the flower she was holding before laying it in the middle of the tributes.
