Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka visited Bhupalapally district alongside Industries Minister Sridhar Babu to launch several development projects. During his visit, he emphasised the importance of local solutions for community problems, stating that those facing issues should not need to travel to the capital for assistance.
Vikramarka addressed concerns about electricity supply, stating, 'Previous rulers perpetuated the myth that there would be no electricity if Congress came to power. This March, the peak demand for electricity reached 17,162 megawatts, yet we managed to provide uninterrupted service. I extend my gratitude to the officers and staff who contributed to maintaining this essential supply.'
He highlighted the government's efforts to provide free electricity to 29 lakh pump sets, allocating ₹11,500 crore for agricultural power supply. Furthermore, he announced that households classified as poor receive up to 200 units of free electricity under the Gruha Jyoti scheme, with over ₹13,000 crore being spent annually on this initiative and for government educational institutions.
Additionally, Vikramarka noted that they are offering farmer assurance in the accounts of approximately 1 crore 49 lakh 35 thousand farmers, reiterating the commitment to supporting the agricultural community in the region.

India bloc intact; SP to contest 2027 UP polls as part of it: Akhilesh
LUCKNOW Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the INDIA bloc is intact and asserted that his party will contest the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh as part of the opposition grouping. The former chief minister also said that the SP is fully prepared for the panchayat polls likely to be held in the state early next year. To a query on a recent statement by Congress MP Imran Masood regarding seat sharing between the SP and the Congress in 2027, Yadav said: 'We are not bothered about any such bloc is intact and we are firmly with it. Those who are unhappy can walk alliance will contest the elections together.' A few days back, Masood had told media: 'We (Congress) will contest with all our might. And if there is any understanding, it will have to be respected mutually. The seat-sharing formula for the 2024 Lok Sabha election will not work in 2027.' Both the Congress and SP are members of the opposition INDIA bloc, which was formed ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls to take on the BJP. The SP won a whopping 37 LS seats while the Congress's tally was revised from zero to six, giving it a new life in the state. On Tuesday, the SP chief met representatives of Pasmanda Muslims and assured them of taking note of the issues faced by the community. Yadav also said he will ensure that issues faced by the weavers' community are included in the party manifesto for the upcoming elections. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Yadav said: 'The BJP government has ruined electricity infra, healthcare and education system. If the proposal sent by the BJP government to increase power tariff is implemented, then electricity will be very expensive. Business and industries will not be able to run. It will become difficult to even charge mobile phones.' 'The quality of primary schools has are not going to schools. The government has ruined secondary schools along with primary schools. Healthcare services have collapsed and medical colleges do not have staff and resources as per standards,' added the SP chief. Speaking on the inclusion of the Pasmand community in PDA, Yadav said, 'PDA is united against the misrule, injustice, atrocities and corruption of the BJP government. It is an emotional alliance that includes all people who are suffering, unhappy and insulted by the BJP government. The Pasmanda community is a part of PDA. When the SP forms government, the Pasmanda community will be given full political respect.' The former UP CM further attacked the BJP government on the issue of unemployment, alleging that business, jobs and employment were not on the agenda of the BJP government. 'The government has not even purchased 20% of the wheat. The chief minister had gone out to do an aerial survey of crops. Aerial surveys are done by those people who cannot face the farmers. All the figures of the government are false. Crop purchase centres were not opened at many places including Kannauj,' said the SP chief. He said people responsible for the June 12 Air India flight crash in Ahmedabad must tender their resignations. 'Think about the accident that happened in Ahmedabad, no one has resigned till now. Think about what happened -- one moment they were alive, the next moment they were not. In so few seconds, people lost their lives. Where the aircraft fell, how many doctors died? How many people lost their family members,' asked Yadav. .

Banerjee has taken charge of the party's affairs again, especially when it comes to projecting the national perspective of the Trinamool Congress. After his Pahalgam delegation speech, Banerjee has not only carefully cultivated his image of the general secretary of the TMC but also made people sit up and take note. Superseding Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Yusuf Pathan, Banerjee was chosen to ensure that he comes across as someone who pushes the nationalism narrative. His speech on foreign land, where he said he would continue his fight with the BJP back home but abroad he was the representative of his country, showed his unwavering support to the cause at a challenging juncture. Also, Gandhi has the image of someone who shifts from issue to issue and has been branded as a 'Shoot and Scoot' neta. What also sets the two leaders apart is their approach to elections. Banerjee's aggression, him running the media narrative for the TMC and taking charge clearly show that he has begun work for the Bengal polls of 2026. Gandhi, meanwhile, has visited Bihar twice, but the party is still waiting for clarity on seat-sharing talks. Bihar also has a large number of Agniveers, and given that several youth in the state belong to defence families, the Pahalgam issue can resonate in election season. Not just this, an indecisive Nitish Kumar and a government in limbo are narratives that the Congress can push already. But, for this, the LOP has to be around. Sadly, politics doesn't allow the luxury of time. Banerjee is ensuring that no time is wasted and has begun to crack the whip. While he will always be overshadowed by his aunt Mamata Banerjee, he clearly wants to shed the 'bhaipo' tag. In the case of Rahul Gandhi, many feel that his surname overshadows him and camouflages his faults and misses. Cadastral map of the lake mentioned in MLAs' petition vanishes from the HMDA website
Four Congress party legislators approached the High Court on Monday (June 16) with a public interest litigation, alleging encroachment and fraudulent deals on a land parcel in Khajaguda village which they contend as belonging to government, and where a reputed builder is raising an expensive condominium complex. In the petition, the legislators — Janampalli Anirudh Reddy, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, Murali Naik Bhukya and Kuchkulla Rajesh Reddy — alleged that the venture encroached upon a lake in Khajaguda, apart from the government land. The satellite images from April this year show that a large portion of the lake's FTL area has been cleared and levelled and a path has been made through the lake for the heavy vehicles to ply to the construction site. A compound wall and temporary structures can be seen encroaching into the buffer area, as demarcated in the Irrigation department maps. The lake in question is mentioned as Nanakram Kunta in Nanakramguda village of the Rangareddy district in the records of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority, with the lake id, 3712. Final notification for the lake was issued in May, 2016, two years after the preliminary notification. Since all the lakes within the Outer Ring Road have been brought under the lake protection committee constituted with the chief of the Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency Mr. Anirudh Reddy also brought the issue to Mr. Ranganath's notice through a letter in March this year. In the petition to the High Court, the petitioners alleged manipulation of the survey numbers by the Revenue department leading to the fraudulent transactions. Arousing suspicions on that front, the cadastral map of the lake has vanished from the HMDA's website, where the survey numbers and their locations within the lake's boundaries and outside are to be found. Instead, a document with merely the survey numbers in FTL & buffer areas is uploaded, where the government land within the lake's FTL is mentioned as 6 acres and 17 guntas, and within buffer, as 34 guntas. The FTL (full tank level) map of the lake mentions the area of the water body as 6.52 acres. The water spread area, through remaining below 50% during the past 15 years, could have been much higher as can be seen from the historical satellite images from Google Earth. An image from October 2022 shows water spread even in the area outside the FTL map, which is corroborated by the contours shown by an elevation path. The sprawling campus of Maulana Azad National Urdu University serves as the catchment for Nanakram Kunta as do the open lands in the surrounding areas which sustain several lakes such as Bhageerathamma Cheruvu, Khajaguda Pedda Cheruvu and Yellamma Cheruvu in the vicinity. The project has been registered with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority, with a building permission by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. An online realty portal mentions the price of the luxury apartments ranging between ₹6.5 crore and ₹19 crore. Interestingly enough, a pictorial representation of the venture on the builder's website shows several surrounding lakes, including Bhageerathamma Cheruvu, Khajaguda Pedda Cheruvu, Yellamma Cheruvu, and other minor water bodies too, but not the lake on the banks of which it is coming up.
